I don't know whether this is the right list, but ...
in

http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals#quick-reference

there is a broken link

Send them to the list, IMHO no need to bloat the BTS with it. If noone
reacts you can still send them to the BTS for them to be more visible.

About your initial question if the security team should be informed of
the changes, I guess Josip misunderstood it (or I do ,). You don't need
to inform the security team about changes that doesn't change the core
text of the advisory. If it's about changes to the infrastructure of
the files (like, links back to the archive or cross references) you
don't need to inform them. If you on the other hand like to change
texting which might change the meaning of the text it would rather be a
good idea to ask them.

Uhm, on second thought, I guess Matt and/or Javier are doing a database
of crossreferences to vulnerability databases, they might be interested
in your changes in that part, too.

 So long,
Alfie

Whenever I send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I get no
response.

I recall these were supposed to be forwarded to the owner of
some_package.

Maybe they just don't reply, but probably, just like bugs.debian.org,
you have set it up so that if there is any mail trouble, all bounces
are squashed ?

Sorry I send this query as a bug, but that's the only surefire way I know.

Possibly, but generally it works like email -- there's no return receipt.
It's possible that nobody is answering simply because nobody is there to
answer. (It's summer vacation time in the northern hemisphere...)

It's also possible that your broken headers

are at fault.

Error in webwml/english/partners/index.wml ?

Hi all,

I am translating webwml/english/partners/index.wml (1.59/Nov 19 2002)
and I read in the line 84~89:

[...]trustsec pays two Debian

[...]
[...] They've paid and worked on the free Debian CDs for
LinuxTag 2001 in Stuttgart.

It is correct
(the developers *have* paid and worked on ...)
or there is an error
(the developers *were* *had* paid to work on ...)?

Hi,

on the _front page_ at http://www.debian.org/ under "Security Alerts", the
description of "DSA-307 gps" should be "multiple vulnerabilities"
instead of just "multiple". This should also be adjusted at the page

Rawwrite für Windows

2003-07-21 Thread Max

Hallo Leutechens!

nennen.

Searching for packages containing files like "g++", the "+" characters
are properly encoded (by the web browser) in the "word" parameter in the
URL by the search form at http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages as follows:

search_contents.pl?word=g%2B%2B ...

but the links for subsequent search result pages look like:

search_contents.pl?page=2&word=g++ ...

where "g++" should be "g%2B%2B".

Clicking on these links results in this error:

Error: "g " is not a valid search request

Sorry if this bug hasn't already posted. I only searched the bug list
for keywords but did not read the whole page.

I still can't see any change at http://www.debian.org/security/2003/.
The description for gps is still "multiple" and also other reports as
for kernel-patch-2.4.18-powerpc and linux-kernel-2.4.18 have a
description like "several".

Another one: The (currently) very first security entry at the homepage
http://www.debian.org/ is: "DSA-351-1 php4 -- cross-site scripting" -
cross site scripting _what_? cross site scripting vulnerability? I guess
there are still words getting lost somewhere.

bye,
  Roland

Sorry I forgot to mention that I fixed it in CVS and that the pages
will be updated in the next hours (the webpage is regenerated all four
hours iirc)

No, there are no words "Getting lost". The descriptions is the same
as in the mail, it's actually created from it. I just thought that you
were right that "multiple vulnerabilities" is more readable than just
"multiple", so I added it (and it will be added in future advisories
automatically).
I think "cross-site scripting" is expressive enough and will not add it
there.

OK, looks better now. But what about DSA-232 to DSA-243 and so on? You
could possibly go over them with a script. :)

status of packages.debian.org

2003-07-21 Thread Frank Lichtenheld
Hi.

Just a short update.
I've uploaded a snapshot version of my scripts to my webpage.
You can find the link under
http://www.djpig.de/projekte/debian/packages
The page is in German, it's the last link on the page

There is a README file in it with a very short step-by-step
introduction to build the pages.

Testers welcome.
