where should /users be linked from?

2002-09-24 Thread Colin Walters
Hi all,

Where do you think www.debian.org/users should be linked from? The
OpenBSD web page has their 'Users' page linked under 'About OpenBSD...',
and the XFS people have theirs right at the top of their page
(http://oss.sgi.com/projects/linux_xfs). seeS on IRC suggested that we
add a link under intro/about. Any objections to that?

Nowhere :) However www.debian.org/users/ should probably be linked from
somewhere... /intro/about or /misc/ perhaps? Or maybe group it with
/partners/ and /consultants/?

I suggest /intro/about, /misc/related_links and /intro/why_debian

Agreed. But please add appropiate paragraphs surrounding the url links :)

i'm using an of-the-shelf galeon debian package 1.2.6-2. dowloading
gzipped pages directly is still dramatically faster. should i configure
any special setting to enable this negotiation?

thanks

Crooks

2002-09-24 Thread Burton Britt D DLVA
Hi,

Okay, so maybe you are the wrong people to contact, but I couldn't find the
right people on your website.

I ordered two copies of debian (M68K and PPC) from TuxCDs back in July, have
emailed em and emailed em (no other means of contact available) and to date
have not received my cd's... oh, but they did happily charge my credit card.

I suggest you might want to de list them as vendors, because they are in
actuality, crooks.

Tux CDs unreliable

2002-09-24 Thread Richard Atterer
Hello Tux CDs,

this is already the third complaint about you in a quite short time.
What is your comment on the problems that people have ordering Debian
CDs from you? Note that we may have to remove you from our vendors
list if you continue to be unreliable.

Sorry, [EMAIL PROTECTED] would be the correct place to complain. I'll
update the website to mention this.
