Uhm, I don't see the contradiction here? If I would really hunt for
the top in the website translation why I would direct freshmeat to some
other translation place? I don't get it where you see the funny point
here. Maybe it's just because it's monday morning

 Have fun,

Missing dependency from ports/*/*.wml to ports/menu.defs ?

2002-05-27 Thread Martin Quinson
Hello,

I updated the file ports/menu.defs to translate the entry "Porting" a few
day ago. Still, this translation did not propagate to the ports/sparc
directory.

Looking in the makefiles, I noticed that the dependency given in the subject
seems to be lacking. Can I add this, or am I deadly wrong ?

Please cc me if needed, I'm not on this list right now.

Bye, Mt.

README for webwml/english/MailingLists/desc

2002-05-27 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Hi!

I started to translate the descriptions for the MailingLists and
stumbled upon this part of the README:

-> Caution: Since the lists description can be used in a text file, too, it
-> should not be wider than 52 characters. (In case anyone wants to make
-> mailing-lists.??.txt...)

Uhm, is 52 really correct? What is the rule for the *.heading files?
For they seem to have other rules, none of those are below 52
characters.

 I found some descriptions that are wider than 52 (e.g. 53) -
should that be changed? *ducks*

 'till then,
Alfie

2002-05-27 Thread Anders Vejgaard

Hej
Jeg kommer fra en clan der hedder
Diuex.
Vi er ikke kendt i nu da vi ikke har
spillet. Men jeg er ved at indsamle folk til en Top clan. Vi begynder at træne i
næste uge. Da jeg er begyndt at finde de spiller vi skal have. Men for at holde

This message was in Danish. The sender asks whether we'd like to sponsor
his "Dieux clan" with a game server or a web site. I replied directly to
him that Debian isn't about games, but is an operating system, and that
the equipment and bandwidth is made available by our sponsors for use by
Debian, not online gamers.

Yes. Look at the format of the mailing-lists.txt file:

  debian-announce@lists.debian.org

Description : Major news and very important changes in the project
are announced here.
  Moderated : yes
  Subscription: open

Observe the length of the underlined space.

For them, the limit is standard ~ 76, which is implied.

Once again, look at the file.

52 was an approximate number, to leave a bit of space on the right margin.

I forgot to mention Bugs/otherpages.inc which is needed by Bugs/*.wml files,
build fails when this file is not present.
