Supported Hardware

2002-04-03 Thread Marc Allard
Hello,

I am searching if the Alcatel Speed touch USB is supported by linux (ADSL
Modem) to use by pppoe but I can see nowhere on the site if it is supported.
When I make a search about Alcatel, I see nowhere on the find page Alcatel.

Can you tell me if the Alcatel Speed touch Usb Modem is supported?

Thank you

Marc Allard

additional information for Debian Beowulf

2002-04-03 Thread Thomas Lange

Please add a link to http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/ on the
web page http://www.debian.org/ports/beowulf/

FAI is a helpful tool for the fully automated installation of Debian
GNU/Linux. Using FAI, it's very easy to set up a Beowulf cluster.

Firstly... sorry if you have just received another copy of this.. my email
client is playing up!

I wonder if I could suggest some extra links from your Security page? Could I
propose the following:

A full and free glossary of information security terms and phrases:
http://www.yourwindow.to/information-security/

A comprehensive free set of information Security Policies:
http://www.yourwindow.to/security-policies/

Both the above are very much public/business service sites.

I hope that you will be able to consider these but thank you anyhow for
maintaining such an important site.

Best regards.

Jenni.

This is a common request. The packages can provide an upstream link, but
unfortunately a lot of them don't. Work is in progress to get this done.

Indeed, http://cdimage.debian.org/cd-images/ gives a 404 error.
I'm forwarding this to the site admin. Phil?

Google: linux "alcatel speed touch"

Why did you ask the webmasters about this? There are many, many far
better places to ask this sort of thing.

pppoe?
http://packages.debian.org/ search for pppoe

Bug#141123: www.debian.org: Incorrect information in www.debian.org/ports/alpha

2002-04-03 Thread Gunnar Wolf
Package: www.debian.org
Version: 20020404
Severity: important

There is some misleading information in this page - Besides that (IMHO)
Alpha does not 'boast incredible speed all around' (compare it to a recent
Athlon!), it still talks about 'Compaq's commitment to supporting and
continuing the Alpha processor line'.
