different issues

2002-02-12 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Hi!

I look in the validate[1] and tidy[2] output that barbier creates every
now and then to find typos in the pages that I'm translating and
stumbled upon some things that I'd like to address in here (I hope not
everyone has killfiled me yet ;):

 -) distrib/archive.wml: needs $(ENGLISHDIR)/distrib/archive.mirrors --
but somehow that fails, the tag just inserts an
empty -- which produces error output. Someone should
check the script that should create that file.

 -) Bugs/pseudo-packages.wml: needs
$(ENGLISHDIR)/Bugs/pseudo-packages.description which doesn't have
html-ified content (like, unescaped &) in it. Should be corrected.

-) devel/people.wml: the same applies here, there's an unescaped & in
that generated file that comes from $(ENGLISHDIR)/devel/people.names
- please fix the creating script.

-) mirror/sponsors.wml: blah blah, --||--, the same with the created
content in $(ENGLISHDIR)/mirror/sponsors.list

I'm not sure where the scripts that create those files are located and
if I have writepermission to them so it would be nice if someone could
give them a look.

 Thanks in advance,
Alfie

P.S.: I haven't forgotten to add the link to the DWN-contributing page -
I just haven't found the right place yet ;)

digest versions of lists

2002-02-12 Thread Nick Hockings - FreeNET Africa
Is there a digest option for subscribing to debian lists?

(FSF-Europe offers a digest option on its list subscription whereby the
week or day's mail from a given list can be delivered as a single
concatenated email.)

I would find this option very useful as a listener to several lists.

Thanks

Unfortunately I've coded it using grep-dctrl 1.7 which allows several -F
options and comma-separated list of fields as -F's argument. The one
installed on klecker is older, and doesn't support that.

I'll see if I can recompile it on potato and install it; that's much easier
than figuring out how to reimplement it :o)

In the meantime I'll just scp the right file on klecker.

These aren't too important, though they shouldn't be too hard to fix :)

Indeed, it seems linuxpress.com is still down! :(

I'm going to replace those links with a link to
http://www.polaris.net/~dwarf/
(Dale, is that okay with you?)

Dutch debian site in wrong language (indonesian?)

2002-02-12 Thread Coert Klaver
Hi,

While checking out the debian websites, I found it rather confusing to find
the dutch debian site in another language than dutch ( is it indonesian /
malayan?). Check yourself at: http://www.nl.debian.org/

Best regards,

Coert Klaver
Netherlands

Mh, this must be an error of your browser. Maybe you have indonesian
as first language.
If I go to www.nl.debian.org it's german, like it has to be because
my favorite language in my mozilla is german. And when I klick
Netherlands at the bottom of the page, it's certanly in Dutch.
And after setting dutch as first lang in mozilla, the start-site
is shown in Dutch too.

Bye
  Jonas
