Simply because I don't have the turkish directory checked out. Yes, I
know that I can simply do a cvs up turkish/international/Turkish.wml and
work on that (now) - it was more done in a hurry. Sorry, I'll do it
next time (and now, if it's not done yet).

Well - I didn't change the file just for that. But I thought it was a
good idea when already in the file. YMMV. On the other hand I remember
changes to *just* do that in some english files, maybe I remember wrong.

Error in package search CGI scripts.

2001-11-15 Thread Steve Kemp

Hi,

Just a quick mail to report an error in the package search script.
[Some of these URL's may have wrapped badly, I apologise in advance
 if this is the case].

  I started at:

http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages

Filled in the form for "Search Package Directories", by typing
 "kernel", and clicking search.

This gave me 20 hits, at the following URL:

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=kernel&searchon=names&subword=1&version=stable&release=all

At the bottom of the page I see :

"Responses 1-20 shown, out of total of 32"

The URL that is then given is wrong, it is:

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages?keywords=kernel&searchon=names&version=stable&release=all&start=21&subword=1

Notice how the "search_packages" script which is called is
 missing the ".pl" extension?
I manually added .pl, and was taken to the correct 12
 results.

I hope this is helpful to you..

Re: Software that can't be packaged

ACK.

Yes, that's right. But the better solution (on the long run) is to put
more than a three-word-explanation for each project listed on the
unable-to-package webpage.

woody install manual and www.d.o/releases/woody/

2001-11-15 Thread Adam Di Carlo

I'd like to get the woody installation manual online at
www.d.o/releases/woody/. This involves both getting that in place and
also WML revisions to the releases/woody area.

Regarding building the manual, Josip has been doing that historically.
It's aprocess of doing 'make doc-web; make mirror-to-master' off the
boot-floppies CVS (HEAD). I believe Josip has a cron job running to
do that --- is that true? Is it running? Can you have it CC me on
any failure messages so we can keep this functioning on an ongoing
basis?

Regarding the WML revisions needed, is anyone maintaining that area?
It doesn't seem like anyone is. We need to get on this. Having it in
good shape would help Debian woody install testers since it provides
current information and online help.

We should copy stuff over from the releases/potato area rather than
start from scratch, IMHO. There's scripts to produce links to all the
versions of the documentation. Can anyone get that? I _could_ do it
(after the manuals are put in place) but I'm a bit busy with
boot-floppies maintenance.

Proposal: Translated package descriptions web pages

2001-11-15 Thread peter karlsson
Hi!

Now that there are several package descriptions translated by the DDTS
project, it would be nice if the package pages at packages.debian.org
could utilize these to create translated versions of the descriptions,
which would then be served as part of the content negotiation.

Adding language-specific contents

2001-11-15 Thread Tomohiro KUBOTA
Hi,

I am now translating Debian web pages into Japanese.

I'd like to add a Japanese-specific contents into "Support" page.
I'd like to mention mailing lists (where Japanese language is
used) which are maintained by Debian JP Project.

May I do this?
