In this case it's a good idea to add the help tag to the WNPP bug.
Also, try repeating the RFS on debian-mentors.

Do you think enough time has passed for kernellab to be removed, or should
we wait a bit more? (This is just a ping, I'm content to leave it as-is.)

amiwm was removed from Debian in March 2004 [1], so an upload will have
to go through the NEW queue. Retitling appropriately.

Frank, did you get any reply?

Bastian, Daniel, please let us know if one of you still intends to adopt
Login.app. There are 13 outstanding bugs, with no upstream activity for
almost four years. Unless someone steps up, it is likely to be removed.

Description: Make PDF documents which are printable and readable on screen too
 pdfscreen is an extension of the hyperref package to provide a
 screen-based document design. This package helps to generate pdf
 documents that are readable on screen and will fit the screen's aspect
 ratio. Also it can be used with various options to produce regular
 print versions of the same document without any extra effort.
 .
 One important utility of this package is to generate slides for
 talks, seminars etc. It produces a pdf file which can be used for
 a slideshow on any machine which has a pdf viewer. (Preferably acroread).
 .
 The homepage of this project is http://www.river-valley.com/download
Tag: interface::commandline, role::sw:utility, use::converting,

(This package seems to have been left out in the original bug filing;
cf. #192696, #192697, #192698, #192699.)

Would you mind if we remove it for the time being? It didn't ship with
sarge, isn't in a usable state, and takes up time (e.g. Bug#323514) that
would be better spent on other packages. You can always resurrect it
once it's ready (the NEW queue is pretty fast these days)...

Bug#107808: Removing diskless?

2005-09-11 Thread Matej Vela
Hi,

I think it's time to remove diskless. I know we usually don't remove
packages marked as being adopted, but this one looks hopeless:

 * It's been orphaned for two years [1], and up for adoption for two
   years before that [2].
 * Eric Sharkey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, the prospective maintainer,
   hasn't replied to my last ping; according to db.d.o, he was last
   seen in May. He set up a project on Alioth [3], but there's been
   no activity since 2004-09-02.
 * There are 2 important, 15 normal, 2 minor, and 9 wishlist bugs.
 * popcon lists 63 installations/12 votes.
 * lessdisks seems to provide similar functionality.
 * It's a Debian-native package.

Eric, please let us know if you want to keep diskless in the archive.
Note that you can always resurrect it through the NEW queue (which is
pretty fast these days).

Jonas, as the maintainer of lessdisks, do you think it can serve as an
adequate replacement?

Yes, but I have to check it line by line, and this is too much:

$ find ecb-2.27/debian -type f | xargs cat | wc
5092322   18557
$ find ecb-2.32/debian -type f | xargs cat | wc
   19838592   71076

Custom rules are fine for big packages, but with a package this simple
they just complicate maintenance. For example, the postinst, postrm,
and prerm scripts that take up 500 lines now were previously completely
taken care of by debhelper.

As discussed in #320363, Apache::MiniWiki doesn't work with Apache 2

mod_perl 1.x). Since it's also been orphaned for 6 months, I think we

Do you think it's worth fixing #436761 (tramp fails with wholenump

Since no one jumped in, I guess I'm taking over the ITP. Of course,
co-maintainers are more than welcome. I'm also closing #407121 so that
we don't have two bugs to keep track of.

Here's my to-do list so far:

  * Make sure there's no licensing conflict between GPL and the bundled
OpenSSL code. Upstream has graciously agreed to add the usual
exception [1], so this should be a non-issue in short order.

  * Map to an FHS layout, using symlinks if necessary. Tentatively:

/var/ossec/bin-> /usr/bin
/var/ossec/etc-> /etc/ossec
/var/ossec/logs   -> /var/log/ossec
/var/ossec/queue  -> /var/spool/ossec
/var/ossec/var/run-> /var/run/ossec
/var/ossec (the rest) -> /var/lib/ossec

  * Debconf-iscate as much of install.sh as possible.

  * Link against zlib1g rather than an embedded copy, to avoid giving
more headaches to the Security Team [2].

I'll keep this bug posted.

Bug#379213: ITP: libnet-ldap-server-perl -- LDAP server-side protocol handling in Perl

2006-07-22 Thread Matej Vela

  Net::LDAP::Server provides the protocol handling for an LDAP server.
  You can subclass it and implement the request types you need. Once
  you accept a connection (e.g. using Net::Daemon), Net::LDAP::Server
  takes care of decoding client requests and encoding your replies.

The intended way to state an intent-to-adopt is to retitle the WNPP

Anyway, the top two lines will do this for you. I'm also closing

Bug#382381: ITP: libapache-admin-config-perl -- a module to read/write Apache like configuration files

2006-08-12 Thread Matej Vela
Hi,

I may be able to sponsor libapache-admin-config-perl. Here's what I'd
like you to change:

  * debian/changelog: This should close the actual WNPP bug (#382381).

  * debian/control:
- Shouldn't `debhelper (>= 5)' be enough?
- Typos in the description:
  s/extract informations/extract information/
  s/apache/Apache/
  s/activate/activating/
  s/one-shoot/one-shot/
  s/migrations scripts/migration script/
  s/few lines/a few lines/
- The Homepage pseudo-header should be indented by a space
  (see Developer's Reference section 6.2.4).

  * debian/copyright:
- Please update the FSF postal address.
- The indenting should not assume a tab equals four spaces.
  It would be best to use spaces everywhere.
- The /usr/share/common-licenses reference should be unindented,
  to distinguish it from upstream information.
- s{On Debian GNU/Linux systems}{On Debian systems} (since we're
  working on GNU/Hurd and GNU/kFreeBSD).
- s{complete text of the GNU General Public License}
   {complete text of the GNU Lesser General Public License}

  * debian/docs: This can be removed; cdbs will automatically install
README and Changes, the latter as the upstream changelog.

  * debian/watch: Please add a watch file for uscan(1):

  version=3
  http://search.cpan.org/dist/Apache-Admin-Config/ \
.*/Apache-Admin-Config-(.*)\.tar\.gz

This makes it easier for me to check whether the package is
keeping up.

Cheers,

Matej
