Could you give me the definition for ITP ?

I'm not sure if you understand what ITP mean.

mencoder is certainly not in Debian, and without an encoder devede is
completely useless.

And FYI the latest devede is my repository is the latest 3.2

Personally I use this package one or two times by year. Otherwise if

This library isn't available seperately and I don't think that the
author intent to do a separate package for that.

For now lives is the main tarball for lives and libweed packages.

A separate *package* not a separate *tarball*. Do you see the difference ?

The diff in this link doesn't provides packages for the shared library
when my diff does. Then which diff do you think is the best for you ?

Also this diff is for Lives 0.9.9.7 when mine is for 1.0.0

I package lives since 3 years now, do you think that my packages are
broken ?

As you know we don't have the possibility to create mpeg2 or avi files
in Debian, so without these file formats this tool is useless.

Also mjpegtools doesn't exist (and can't enter) in Debian.

As you know (you are the ffmpeg maintainer) MPEG2 is not free, this is
why this encoder has been removed from ffmpeg.

I still don't understand the necessity to upload Lives in Debian.

Without mjpegtools you can't encode in mpeg2. Same for transcode or
mencoder who doesn't exist in Debian even if you add a note saying
"Lives doesn't work, you need to add this package from this site" the
first user will certainly don't understand why Lives doesn't work
because this use will certainly never read the README.Debian.

Of course mplayer is needed. See in src/kmplayerprocess.cpp

In the same source, mencoder is also called which is definitely not
free.

The README file isn't ambiguous :

,
| KMPlayer needs KDE3.1 and a working mplayer/mencoder somewhere in you PATH.
`

So kmplayer should go in contrib or all the code related to
mplayer/mencoder need to be removed and then kmplayer can go in main.

I don't intent to spend my time with non-existent bug report like 368546.

Are you serious ? We have ffmpeg (and soon mencoder in the mplayer

Of course read the ITP bug. I already answered in this bug 3 months ago,
that I'm still interested to package rte.

How is html_text different from .xpath('//text()') from LXML or
  .get_text() from Beautiful Soup?

Text extracted with html_text does not contain inline styles,
  javascript, comments  and other text that is not normally visible to users;

html_text normalizes whitespace, but in a way smarter than
.xpath('normalize-space()), adding spaces around inline elements
(which are often used as block elements in html markup), and trying
  to avoid adding extra spaces for punctuation;

html-text can add newlines (e.g. after headers or paragraphs), so
that the output text looks more like how it is rendered in
  browsers.

Hi,

I intend to orphan the sitecopy package.

The package description is:
Sitecopy is for copying locally stored websites to remote servers. With a
single command, the program will synchronize a set of local files to a
remote server by performing uploads and remote deletes as required. The
aim is to remove the hassle of uploading and deleting individual files
using an FTP client. Sitecopy will also optionally try to spot files you
move locally, and move them remotely.
 .
Sitecopy is designed to not care about what is actually on the remote
server - it simply keeps a record of what it THINKS is in on the remote
 server, and works from that.
