Bug#1073257: O: gobi-loader -- Firmware loader for Qualcomm Gobi USB chipsets.

2024-06-15 Thread Mark Hymers
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: gobi-loa...@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:gobi-loader

I intend to orphan the gobi-loader package as I no longer have any
hardware which uses this chipset. I will upload with QA as the
maintainer later today.

The package description is:
gobi-loader is a firmware loader for Qualcomm Gobi USB chipsets. These devices
appear in an uninitialised state when power is applied and require firmware to
be loaded before they can be used as modems. gobi-loader adds a udev rule that
will trigger loading of the firmware and make the modem usable.

Description : Pronunciation dictionary for Russian TTS engine

RuLex database is primarily intended for use along with the
Ru_tts (https://github.com/poretsky/ru_tts) speech synthesizer in order
to improve its pronunciation.

This package provides lexical database itself, its data access library
and some additional utilities to deal with it. These include text
preprocessor rulex and lexholder-ru utility that allows one
to browse and alter the database content.

Being developed for some years as an open source project RuLex database
was eventually used by RHVoice TTS engine
(https://github.com/RHVoice/RHVoice).

Need a sponsor for upload.

Description : Fast directory traversal for Golang

Fast parallel directory traversal for Golang.

Package fastwalk provides a fast parallel version of filepath.WalkDir that is
~2x faster on macOS, ~4x faster on Linux, ~6x faster on Windows, allocates
50% less memory, and requires 25% fewer memory allocations.
Additionally, it is ~4-5x faster than godirwalk across OSes.

Inspired by and based off of golang.org/x/tools/internal/fastwalk.

This is a dependency for fzf.

Bug#1073285: RFA: mupdf -- lightweight PDF viewer

2024-06-15 Thread 陳侃如
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: mu...@packages.debian.org, debian-de...@lists.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:mupdf

I request an adopter for the mupdf package.

The package description is:
MuPDF is a lightweight PDF viewer and toolkit written in portable C.
It also reads XPS, OpenXPS and ePub documents.
 .
The renderer in MuPDF is tailored for high quality anti-aliased graphics.
It renders text with metrics and spacing accurate to within fractions of a
pixel for the highest fidelity in reproducing the look of a printed page
 on screen.

The package is in moderate good shape. There are many improvements
pending but I don't have the time to persuade. Notably is switching the
libmupdf static library to a shared library. Some work has been done in the
build-shared branch and in the experimental repository.

Other improvements are building python bindings and wasm modules. This will
increase the number of binary packages and thus also maintenance effort.

Thanks,
Kan-ru

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I am hereby orphaning gcc-3.3, which today just builds libstdc++5.

I no longer have binaries that rely on this ancient library. IBM TSM used to
require this - but as far as I can see, there are newer binaries these days
that use the "contemporary" C++ library. For old games it seems feasible to
just copy the binary around if needed. I'd be more worried about other 32-bit
libraries breaking at this point.

I'd weakly suggest not to include this package in the next Debian release,
but there might still be someone who cares. Popcon install count is still
around 4517, but vote is only 2, with 4514 reports not containing sufficient
information around usage.

Description: The GNU Standard C++ Library v3
This package contains an additional runtime library for C++ programs
 built with the GNU compiler.
 .
This package contains an old version of libstdc++ intended solely for
compatibility with proprietary binaries that cannot be recompiled.

Kind regards
Philipp Kern

I modernized the package, but I know nothing about keyboards nor typing in

I intend to orphan the ramond package.

Its upstream has been inactive since 2013, and no upstream activity
is expected in the future.

The package description is:
ramond is a scriptable IPv6 Router Advertisement Monitoring Daemon.
 .
The tool was designed to `clear' (by sending spoofed zero lifetime
adverts) rogue-routes sent by users running 6to4 gateways on a campus
 network.
 .
Actions are scriptable. Almost all the available information is
passed to a script via environmental variables.

Matthew Kraai has moved to Emeritus status. I have removed him from
Uploaders on his request, and this package is now without a human
maintainer. It is currently maintained on the Debian Emacsen Team.

The package description is:
A major Emacs mode for editing Rust source code.
