Bug#1071968: ITP: ruby-cssbundling-rails -- Bundle and process CSS in Rails via Node.js

2024-05-26 Thread Ananthu C V
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Ananthu C V
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: ruby-cssbundling-rails
  Version : 1.4.0
  Upstream Contact: David Heinemeier Hansson
* URL : https://github.com/rails/cssbundling-rails
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: ruby
  Description : Bundle and process CSS in Rails via Node.js

 This gem provides installers to get you going with the bundler of your choice
 in a new Rails application, and a convention to use app/assets/builds to hold
 your bundled output as artifacts that are not checked into source control (the
 installer adds this directory to .gitignore by default).

This package is a dependency of gitlab.

This is a wrapper around protocol buffers. Protocol buffers
 is a specification format for APIs, such as those inside Google.
 This library provides protocol buffer message classes and objects
 that largely behave like native Python types. Planned to maintain it
 under DPT, and need sponsorship.

  Description : package for generate headers to http requests

 Fake-Headers is a library capable of manipulating HTTP headers, allowing
 users to create custom HTTP requests. Providing an additional layer of
 anonymity and security when interacting with web servers.
 .
 With a simple and intuitive interface, the tool can be easily integrated
 into existing Python scripts, offering a flexible and powerful solution
 for manipulating HTTP headers.
 .
 It stands out for enabling developers to manipulate and customize HTTP
 headers, including false or personalized information in HTTP requests.
 .
 It also allows anonymity and privacy by allowing users to hide sensitive
 information, such as user-agent and other identifying details, maintaining
 their privacy and anonymity when interacting with web servers.

 Note: This package is a required dependency for the TeraBoxUtility
 ITP package: #1067395
--- End Message ---
--- Begin Message ---
This ITP was opened for teraboxutility to be packaged:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1071719

And since Teraboxutility needs fake-headers as a dependency
 However, after being reviewed by FTP-Master, it was discovered that
python-fake-header
there is a license conflict, where in the Repository it was under GPL3.0
and in the setup.py file at MIT.

As the last commit was made in 2020, apparently upstream seems to have
abandoned the project
and even disabled the repository's issues tab. The FTP master advised giving up
the package.

After sending emails and making pull requests, with no response, I will close
these ITPs.

Because it wouldn't make sense to continue with the IPT of
 teraboxutility opens if the fake headers do not appear.
