It is similar to https://github.com/lordamit/brightness for which there is an ITP since 2019 but was never actually packaged. I think it is easier to use since it just offers 1 slider per screen and that's it rather than a number of options. So in case that one also ends up being packaged, I'd personally prefer to keep using this one. Unfortunately it is Xorg specific. For now I don't use wayland because of a number of other things that do not work there. I guess there is some poorly documented dbus call that it is possible to make in wayland to achieve the same goal.
