* Package name: rust-headers
  Version : 0.3.9
  Upstream Contact: Sean McArthur
* URL : https://github.com/hyperium/headers
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description : typed HTTP headers

  headers is a Rust library implementing typed HTTP headers,
  which provides the following advantages:
   * More difficult to typo,
 since typos in types should be caught by the compiler
   * Parsing to a proper type by default

This package is needed for non-default feature "headers" of rust-axum

Bug#1053611: RFP: rust-serde-html-form -- (de-)serialization support for the application/x-www-form-urlencoded format

* Package name: rust-serde-html-form
  Version : 0.2.2
  Upstream Contact: ???
* URL : https://github.com/jplatte/serde_html_form
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description : (de-)serialization support for the
application/x-www-form-urlencoded format

 serde_html_form implements (de-)serialization support
 for the application/x-www-form-urlencoded format.
 .
 It is a Rust library for serialising to and deserialising
 from the application/x-www-form-urlencoded format,
 built upon Serde, a high performance generic serialization framework
 and rust-url, a URL parser for Rust.
 .
 It is a fork of serde_urlencoded,
 with additional support for maps or structs
 with fields of sequence type (e.g. Vec).
 It also supports Option in values, treating foo= as foo: None.

This package is needed for non-default features
"form", "query" and "typed-routing" of crate axum-extra,
part of source package rust-axum (bug#1052404).

Hello,

Currently, gmetadom has no human maintainers. It is maintained by the
Debian OCaml team because of the need of transition coordination, but
needs more love and a dedicated maintainer.

A potential maintainer should get familiar with [1], and in particular
with our policy and practices, and get subscribed to our mailing-list.

Changes:
 apt-listchanges (4.0) experimental; urgency=medium
 .
   * New maintainer. (Closes: #981890)
   * Overhaul how apt-listchanges determines which changelog and NEWS
 entries to display to users.
 (Closes: #478188, #748631, #760918, #1020858, #1023084, #1052986)
   * Don't flash Gtk frontend window briefly without displaying anything.
 (Closes: #514865)
   * Allow Gtk frontend window to start hidden with `--hide' command-line
 option or `hide' config setting.
   * Flash or badge the Gtk frontend taskbar icon when content is ready in
 the window.
   * Fix broken `--filter' command-line option / `filter' configuration
 file setting. It previously caused the program to crash when used.
 (Closes: #1052569)
   * Fix man page to no longer falsely state that `--latest' can only be
 used with a single .deb file. In fact `--latest' works fine with
 multiple .deb files.
   * Don't assume that all binary packages from the same source have the
 same changelog and news entries, thereby potentially failing to
 display some messages to the user. (Closes: #383803)
   * Flush output before prompting for install confirmation. Thanks to
 Timon Reinold. (Closes: #1028474)
   * Add a blank line after the "--- Changes for .. ---" headers to make
 them stand out a bit more. (Closes: #880142)
   * Dutch translation of the man page. Thanks to Frans Spiesschaert.
 (Closes: #1033903)
   * Romanian translation of the program. Thanks to Remus-Gabriel Chelu.
 (Closes: #1034197, #1034241)
   * Install Python files required by the application in the standard
 location rather than a custom location, and use the standard Debian
 mechanism for packaging a Debian package rather than custom packaging.
   * Remove APT_HOOK_INFO_FD backward compatibility code that was obsolete
 as of Debian 10.
   * Fix some errant debug messages that were being printed even when
 `--debug' wasn't specified.
   * Code cleanup and improvement, including `flake8' and `pylint'
 compatibility, (some) unit tests, and adherence to newer standards and
 best practices.
   * Remove TODO from /usr/share/doc/apt-listchanges since it's out-of-date
 and unlikely to be useful to anyone.

Bug#1053654: ITP: erc -- powerful, modular, and extensible IRC client for Emacs

2023-10-07 Thread Amin Bandali
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: band...@gnu.org
X-Debbugs-Cc: debian-de...@lists.debian.org, debian-emac...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: erc
  Version : 5.5
  Upstream Contact: Amin Bandali , F. Jason Park

* URL : https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/erc.html
* License : GPL-3+
  Programming Lang: Emacs Lisp
  Description : powerful, modular, and extensible IRC client for Emacs

ERC is a powerful, modular, and extensible Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
client distributed with GNU Emacs since version 22.1.

ERC comes with the following capabilities enabled by default:

- Timestamps
- Flood control
- Join channels automatically
- Buttonized URLs, nicknames, and other text
- Wrap long lines
- Highlight or remove IRC control characters
- Highlight pals, fools, and other keywords
- Detect netsplits
- Complete nicknames and commands in a programmable fashion
- Make displayed lines read-only
- Input history
- Track channel activity in the mode-line

Since ERC is currently developed and maintained as a 'core' package in
emacs.git (the GNU Emacs source tree), and GNU Emacs release timings
may not always align nicely with Debian releases, having a standalone
ERC package would enable users to have an up-to-date version of ERC
independently of the Emacs version.

I am one of the upstream maintainers of ERC, I use it regularly, and
I plan to maintain this package as part of the Debian Emacsen team.
