Yeah.
Did you guys start with some prelim/skeleton packaging for this?
I was wondering if it is hosted on salsa/somewhere else, I could update latest
upstream and
try seeing what extra needs to be added than replicating the effort.

@Micah, if you are reading this email, it'd be nice if you could give an ack.

I am pretty active in go-packaging team -- I can try if I find those packages
undermaintained. But no committments since I myself maintain 200+ packages ATM

Remaining dependencies that need to be packaged:

glutin → winit → smithay-client-toolkit → calloop
  ⤷ glutin_glx_sys

Hopefully will be able to make it through this in the next few weeks
(based on NEW speed).

It would be great if this was part of Debian. This library is used by
the bluetooth_le_tracker component of Home Assistant, and is needed to
get this component working on Hassbian.

I created draft packaging rules on https://salsa.debian.org/pere/pygatt >

Nevermind.

I have a preliminary packaging ready. Builds, is usable (as far as I tried).
Source package is here[1] -- reviews welcome.

As you might observe, there is a huge vendor/ directory.
Over the next weeks, I will try to package these deps and use debian packaged
stuff instead of vendor, trimming it down as much as I can.

I guess the tests are only suitable for amd64.

Please do not tag debian/VERSION tags on salsa until a package is actually
uploaded.

This package should Build-Depend on libmurmurhash-dev, which is also Murmurhash3, and make use of its files instead of
the local copy. If that is not possible, please give a reason for that.

Nobody will scan ITPs for sponsorship requests, so please file your Python Team RFSs in the team's IRC topic as I have
demonstrated for one other RFS of yours. You are much more likely to find a sponsor when you stick to a team's standard.

Description : Solvent Accessible Surface Area of biomolecules

FreeSASA is a C library and C++ command line tool for calculating
Solvent Accessible Surface Area (SASA) of biomolecules. It is designed
to be simple to use with defaults, but allows customization of all
parameters of the calculation and provides a few different tools to
analyze the results.

Currently build fails due to gemmi being incompatible with tao-pegtl in
unstable (#1009415), but succeeds with older tao-pegtl (v2).

Description : library for large scale eigenvalue problems

Spectra stands for Sparse Eigenvalue Computation Toolkit as a Redesigned
ARPACK. It is a C++ library for large scale eigenvalue problems, built on top
of Eigen, an open source linear algebra library.

Spectra is implemented as a header-only C++ library, whose only dependency,
Eigen, is also header-only. Hence Spectra can be easily embedded in C++
projects that require calculating eigenvalues of large matrices.

Spectra is designed to calculate a specified number of eigenvalues of a large
square matrix. Usually this number of eigenvalues is much smaller than the
size of the matrix, so that only a few eigenvalues and eigenvectors are
computed, which in general is more efficient than calculating the whole
spectral decomposition. Users can choose eigenvalue selection rules to pick
the eigenvalues of interest, such as the largest k eigenvalues, or eigenvalues
with largest real parts, etc.

The library is needed as a dependency of openturns. It will be maintained
inside the Debian-math team.

Description : Non-blocking concurrency framework for PHP
Amp is a non-blocking concurrency framework for PHP. It provides an event loop,
promises and streams as a base for asynchronous programming.
 .
Promises in combination with generators are used to build coroutines, which
allow writing asynchronous code just like synchronous code, without any
 callbacks.

Description : Flask extension that provides JWT support

Flask-JWT-Extended not only adds support for using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) to
Flask for protecting routes, but also many helpful (and optional) features
built in to make working with JSON Web Tokens easier. These include:
 .
  * Adding custom claims to JSON Web Tokens
  * Automatic user loading (current_user).
  * Custom claims validation on received tokens
  * Refresh tokens
  * First class support for fresh tokens for making sensitive changes.
  * Token revoking/blocklisting
  * Storing tokens in cookies and CSRF protection

Needed as a dependency of Flask-AppBuilder.
I plan to maintain this as part of the Debian Python Team (DPT).

* Package name: pyment
  Version : 3.0
  Upstream Author : A. Daouzli (https://github.com/dadadel/)
* URL : https://github.com/dadadel/pyment/
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Create, update or convert docstrings in existing Python
files

The pyment program intends to help Python programmers to enhance inside
code documentation using docstrings. It is useful for code not well
documented, or code without docstrings, or some not yet or partially
documented code, or a mix of all of this. It can be helpful also to
harmonize or change a project's docstring style format.
 .
It will parse one or several Python scripts and retrieve existing
docstrings. Then, for all found functions/methods/classes, it will
generate formated docstrings with parameters, default values, etc.
 .
At the end, patches are generated for each file. These patches can
applied to the initial scripts. An option allows one to update the files
directly without generating patches. It is also possible to generate the
Python files with the new docstrings, or to only retrieve the
 docstrings.
 .
Currently, the managed styles in input/output are javadoc, one variant
of reST (re-Structured Text, used by Sphinx), numpydoc, google
 docstrings, groups (other grouped style).

Description : simple web server with only basic features

Merecat is a simple web server based on Jef Poskanzer's thttpd.
It supports all basic features required for most use-cases. The
most prominent features are probably HTTPS, using OpenSSL, PHP,
multiple servers with HTTP redirect support, redirect from HTTP
to HTTPS, virtual hosts, and the URL-traffic-based throttling.
 .
Its small footprint makes it is suitable for small and embedded
 systems.

I plan to migrate my personal web servers to merecat, and maintain
the software using git at https://salsa.debian.org/debian . Upstream
also publishes a debian/ directory btw, at their git repo
at https://github.com/troglobit/merecat ; and I published a first
shot at packaging at http://mdcc.cx/tmp/merecat/ .

Joost

Typanion provides strong type inference; if your validator functions pass,
  TypeScript will refine values accordingly.

Despite being very small, Typanion supports error messages, coercions, and
various utilities outside of pure JSON validation.

Typanion uses a functional approach that lends itself very well to being
  optimized away by most bundlers.

This package is needed for packaging yarn2 for Debian

We (Collabora) stopped using OBS from Debian packages and switched to our own
Docker images completely, which use Rubygems.org instead. Since we were
effectively the maintainers of the Debian packages, and nobody else volunteered
to maintain OBS in Debian, I’m going to remove most of it except the worker
code, which is really tiny and needs virtually no maintenance. (There’s also a
related package, obs-build, unaffected by this.)

I’m preparing an upload to the OBS package to implement this.
