The package was removed a couple of days ago due to finding no sponsor
for 20 weeks ;)
I've now uploaded the new version 0.8.0 of waybar to mentors and also
pushed the changes to https://salsa.debian.org/bisco-guest/waybar

I had a look at it and pushed three smaller commits. I left two points
for you before uploading it:

1) Please update debian/copyright to reflect the license change

2) Please upgrade debhelper 11 to version 12

Besides that, lintian found some spelling issues. Please report them
upstream so that they are repaired in their next release.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Sorry for disturbing you, but we really need your help. We have put up a plea

humanity.
A Peaceful Meditation Exercise is on China’s “Most Wanted” List
UNSUBSCRIBE EMAIL
In the year 1999, a peaceful meditation practice called Falun Gong was made
prohibited and labeled as unlawful by the communist party of China, listing
this virtuous meditation practice on the government’s most wanted list.
Over the past 16 years, Falun Gong practitioners - law-abiding citizens - have
been very badly tortured for their beliefs. Millions have been tortured and
tens of thousands murdered from forced organ harvesting, a process whereby the
victim’s vital body organs are taken out and sold at huge costs to native and
overseas patients seeking organ transplants. This is the most horrific and
unforgivable injustice of the 21st century, carried out under the full command
of China’s ruling communist party.
On March 13th, 2016, the United States House Foreign Affairs Committee marked
up H.Res. 343 that calls on the Chinese regime to cease the practice of
state-sanctioned organ harvesting from Falun Dafa followers, and to comply with
inquiry into these crimes.
Latest proofs that emerged this year, drawn directly from Chinese medical
databases and hospital websites, reveals without any doubts that the scale of
the organ transplantation industry in the People's Republic of China is far
surpasses what had initially been understood. With a limited number of
death-row convicts and an extremely a low percentage of voluntary organ
donation, the number of Falun Gong followers and other prisoners of faith being
killed for their organs could be much more than previously judged.
At the hearing for H.Res 343’s mark up, Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) cited
research done by David Kilgour, David Matas, and Ethan Gutmann, who conducted
detailed inquires into China’s forced organ harvesting activity and calculated
that between 45,000 and 65,000 Falun Gong practitioners were murdered for their
organs.
Governments are expected to uphold the rules that are created to secure and

Bug#939292: ITP: ruby-pdk -- A CLI to facilitate easy, unified development workflows for Puppet modules

2019-09-02 Thread Gabriel Filion
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Gabriel Filion

* Package name: ruby-pdk
  Version : 1.13.0
  Upstream Author : Puppet, Inc.
* URL : https://github.com/puppetlabs/pdk
* License : Apache License 2.0
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : A CLI to facilitate easy, unified development workflows for
Puppet modules

The Puppet Development Kit (PDK) includes key Puppet code development and
testing tools for Linux, Windows, and OS X workstations, so you can install
one package with the tools you need to create and validate new modules.

PDK includes testing tools, a complete module skeleton, and command line tools
to help you create, validate, and run tests on Puppet modules. PDK also
includes all dependencies needed for its use.

This package is the very useful helper that's been adopted by the puppet
community to help out building new modules and maintaining them. It also helps
with publishing modules to forge.puppet.com, which is the community module
repository.

Puppet, up to the 5.x branch, has had a builtin command "puppet module build"
that can create a tar archive with the relevant files placed in a layout
that's acceptable for publication on forge.puppet.com. This builtin command
is marked as deprecated in puppet 5.x and was removed in the 6.x branch. This
means that puppet users now need to use pdk for publishing their modules.

pdk also interacts with other tools, some of which are already packaged in
debian, to help users validate the syntax and code style of theire modules but
also to write unit tests.

the upstream project vendors all of those additional tools and the ones that
are not yet packaged yet would need to be packaged separately for debian. This
currently includes the metadata-json-lint and rspec-puppet-facts ruby gems

I plan to maintain this package and the dependencies that I will need to
package additionally within the ruby team.

I've discussed the name a bit on different channels today and the folks
in the ruby team told me that calling it "ruby-pdk" would be a mistake
since it's not a library but rather a binary.

Also, just calling the package "pdk" seems to be too confusing since it
sounds very generic.

So for now the consensus seems to point towards naming this package
"puppet-development-kit" instead in order to make it obvious what it is
and easy to find.

Bug#939302: ITP: ruby-pathspec -- Ruby library to match path patterns such as gitignore

2019-09-02 Thread Gabriel Filion
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Gabriel Filion

* Package name: ruby-pathspec
  Version : 0.2.1
  Upstream Author : Brandon High
* URL : https://github.com/highb/pathspec-ruby
* License : Apache License 2.0
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : Ruby library to match path patterns such as gitignore

This library implements matching of path patterns as they exist in gitignore
files. With this library you can load a gitignore file, and then verify that a
path matches one of the patterns listed in the file. You can also find out all
of the files maching different patterns in a whole hierarchy of a filesystem.

This library is a ruby port of the python library with the same name.

This package is required by puppet-development-kit (pdk) that I'm currently
working to package.

I plan on maintaining this package within the ruby team. Since I do not have
DM or DD status, I will need a sponsor for the package which I will ask in the
ruby team once it's ready.

Dynagen is a text-based front end for Dynamips, that uses the
Hypervisor mode for communication with Dynamips. Dynagen simplifies
building and working with virtual networks:
  * Uses a simple, easy to understand configuration file for specifying
virtual router hardware configurations
  * Simple syntax for interconnecting routers, bridges, frame-relay and
ATM switches. No need to deal with NetIOs
  * Can work in a client / server mode, with Dynagen running on your
workstation communicating to Dynamips running on a back-end server.
Dynagen can also control multiple Dynamips servers simultaneously for
distributing large virtual networks across several machines.
  * Provides a management CLI for listing devices, starting, stopping,
reloading, suspending, and resuming virtual routers.

I intend to orphan the djagios package.

The package description is:
Djagios is an open source Nagios web based configuration tool with a complete
 Python Nagios API.
 .
The main goal of the tool was to make Nagios usable for non-Nagios admins.
The initial install and configuration would have to be done by Nagios
administrators. But once done ordinary users can add servers, appliances,
 devices, services themselves.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
https://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Giovani

I have not been an active maintainer for a while, and with the recent
notification that my PGP key needs to be changed, it is best if I just bow out
and orphan my only current packages, jsonbot and its predecessor, gozerbot.

Anyone else is welcome to offer to be the new maintainer. jsonbot is current
and stable but I am not using it myself, so I'm sure there could be a better
maintainer. For gozerbot, the package is in maintenance mode.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the ulatencyd package since I do not use it anymore.

There is a number of open issues (e.g. incompatibilities with other software)
but upstream's activity has dropped significantly (pretty much to zero) in the
last few months (altough there is a couple of unofficial branches that try to
address some of the problems).

You can find the git repository where the package is maintained at:
http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/ulatencyd.git;a=summary

I'd also be willing to sponsor uploads if needed.

The package description is:
Ulatency is a daemon that controls how the Linux kernel will spend it's
resources on the running processes. It uses dynamic cgroups to give the
kernel hints and limitations on processes.
 .
It strongly supports the lua scripting language for writing rules and the
 scheduler code.
 .
The Linux scheduler does a pretty good job to give the available resources
to all processes, but this may not be the best user experience in the
desktop case. ulatencyd monitors the system and categorizes the running
processes into cgroups. Processes that run wild to slow down the system
by causing massive swaping will be isolated.

Cheers
