Bug#929284: ITP: ruby-inherited-resources -- Speeds up development by making your controllers inherit actions

2019-05-20 Thread Samyak Jain
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Samyak Jain

* Package name: ruby-inherited-resources
  Version : 1.10.0
  Upstream Author : José Valim
* URL : https://github.com/activeadmin/inherited_resources
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Ruby
  Description : Speeds up development by making your controllers
inherit actions

 Inherited Resources speeds up development by making your controllers inherit
 all restful actions so you just have to focus on what is important. It makes
 your controllers more powerful and cleaner at the same time.
 In addition to making your controllers follow a pattern, it helps you to write
 better code by following fat models and skinny controllers convention.

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

* Package name: ruby-discriminator
  Version : 0.1.1
  Upstream Author : James Kiesel
* URL : https://github.com/gdpelican/discriminator
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Ruby
  Description : Gem making smart ActiveRecord by loading subclasses

 Discriminator is a gem which makes ActiveRecord smart about loading
 subclasses from the database.
 Ideally, we'd like to load up these Active Records from the databases,
 with their subclasses already applied with discriminator,
 otherwise it's become cumbersome to determine each type in the database.
 This can be exceptionally helpful for a Single Table Inheritance situation,
 or something like Events where there may be a large number of subclasses
 which could have very different behavior per subclass.

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

Thanks,
Samyak Jain

A simple rack middle-ware ,enabling compression of your assets and
application in responses on Heroku.
While it saves CPU cycles on pointless compression of images and
binary responses.
It will look for a precompressed file in the same location that ends in ".gz".

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

String::Interpolate provides a neat interface to the solution to that
perenial Perl problem - how to invoke the Perl string interpolation
engine on a string contained in a scalar variable.

Is there a reason this hasn't been packaged? Does another module
offer the same capability.

I need this to store a regex pattern and do a substitution, e.g.:

my $r = "CBA:$1";
s/$_/safe_interpolate($r)/e;

(The patterns are provided by the user in a config file.)

  Description : Perl module to find the path to the currently running perl

The Devel::FindPerl module tries to find the path to the currently running
perl. It implements a function to try (really really hard) to find the path to
the perl running your program and another function to test if the perl in
`$path` is the same perl as the currently running one.

SECURITY ALERT: This module by default does things that are not particularly
secure (run programs based on external input).

  Description : C++ header-only library for mathematical optimization

Ensmallen provides a simple set of abstractions for writing an objective
function to optimize. It also provides a large set of standard and cutting-edge
optimizers that can be used for virtually any mathematical optimization task.
These include full-batch gradient descent techniques, small-batch techniques,
gradient-free optimizers, and constrained optimization.

Will be packaged as part of the Debian Science Team.

  Description : Rescue and report exceptions in non-critical code

 Exceptions are rescued and automatically reported to your favorite reporting
 service. In development and test environments, exceptions are raised so you
 can fix them.
 The Safely Pattern is a simple one. It allows you to tag non-critical code by
 wrapping it in a function. It’s built on top of exception handling. Gem is
 created for efficient exceptional handling.

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

Thanks,
Samyak Jain

  Description : Simple and comprehensive Ruby gem for parsing user
agent strings

 This Ruby gem is simple and comprehensive for parsing user agent strings with
 the help of BrowserScope's UA database.
 The ua-parser database is included via git sub-module. To update the database
 the sub-module needs to be updated and the gem is re-released, the gem includes
 a user_agent_parser bin command which will read from standard input, and parse
 each line and prints the results.

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

Thanks,

  Description : Comprehensive slugging and pretty-URL plugin

 FriendlyId is the "Swiss Army bulldozer" of slugging and permalink plugins for
 Active Record. It lets you create pretty URLs and work with human-friendly
 strings as if they were numeric ids.

It is a dependency for loomio and hence needs to be packaged.

Thanks,
Samyak Jain

Bug#929288: ITP: ruby-inherited-resources -- Speeds up development by making controllers inherit all restful actions

2019-05-20 Thread Utkarsh Gupta
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Utkarsh Gupta

* Package name : ruby-inherited-resources
  Version  : 1.9.0
  Upstream Author  : Jose Valim
* URL  : https://github.com/activeadmin/inherited_resources
* License  : Expat
  Programming Lang : Ruby
  Description : Speeds up development by making controllers inherit
all restful actions

 Inherited Resources speeds up development by making your controllers
inherit
 all restful actions so you just have to focus on what is important. It
makes
 your controllers more powerful and cleaner at the same time.
 .
 In addition to making your controllers follow a pattern, it helps you to
write
 better code by following fat models and skinny controllers convention.

Bug#929291: RFP: elpa-dockerfile -- emacs mode for handling Dockerfiles

2019-05-20 Thread Antoine Beaupre
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: elpa-dockerfile
  Version : 1.2
  Upstream Author : Spotify AB
* URL : https://github.com/spotify/dockerfile-mode/
* License : Apache 2
  Programming Lang: Elisp
  Description : emacs mode for handling Dockerfiles

Adds syntax highlighting as well as the ability to build the image
directly (C-c C-b) from the buffer.

This is very useful to edit Dockerfiles - without this, editing
Dockerfiles is just plain text and is slightly annoying.

The MELPA repo is broken so presumably some work is needed there:

Bug#886679: ITA: coccinelle -- semantic patching tool for C

2019-05-20 Thread Eugeniy Meshcheryakov
Hi,

I didn't see this error. I guess you've tried debhelper compat level 12
that runs dh_dwz. Both dwz and debhelper packages seem to have some bug
reports related to dh_dwz failures.

Regards,
Eugeniy Meshcheryakov
