Bug#910077: ITP: binoculars -- Surface X-ray diffraction 2D detector data reduction
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Picca Frédéric-Emmanuel * Package name: binoculars Version : 0.0.1 Upstream Author : Willem Onderwaater * URL : https://github.com/id03/binoculars * License : GPL-3+ Programming Lang: Python Description : Surface X-ray diffraction 2D detector data reduction BINoculars is a tool for data reduction and analysis of large sets of surface diffraction data that have been acquired with a two-dimensional X-ray detector. The intensity of each pixel of a two-dimensional detector is projected onto a three-dimensional grid in reciprocal-lattice coordinates using a binning algorithm. This allows for fast acquisition and processing of high-resolution data sets and results in a significant reduction of the size of the data set. The subsequent analysis then proceeds in reciprocal space. It has evolved from the specific needs of the ID03 beamline at the ESRF, but it has a modular design and can be easily adjusted and extended to work with data from other beamlines or from other measurement techniques.

Bug#910108: RFP: git-bug -- Distributed bug tracker embedded in Git
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: git-bug Version : 0.3.0 Upstream Author : Michael Muré * URL : https://github.com/MichaelMure/git-bug * License : GPL-3+ Programming Lang: Golang Description : Distributed bug tracker embedded in Git git-bug is a distributed bug tracker embedded in git. It uses git's internal storage so no files are added in your project. As you would do with commits and branches, you can push your bugs to the same git remote you are already using to collaborate with other people. == I've been maintaining bugs-everywhere (BE) in Debian for a while now, which accomplishes a similar goal, but with bugs stored in branches (or in files? i forgot). In any case, BE is unmaintained now and this looks like a promising alternative, particularly with future two-way integration with upstream bugtrackers (e.g. GitHub import for now). It probably has (too many) golang dependencies that need to be bundled and all that usual stuff. Golang team maintenance, most likely. Documented here to share it with the Debian community and make sure there's no work duplicated.

Bug#910111: RFP: solid -- set of conventions and tools for building decentralized social applications based on Linked Data principles
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: solid Version : varies Upstream Author : varies * URL : https://solid.mit.edu/ * License : MIT Programming Lang: node.js, etc Description : set of conventions and tools for building decentralized social applications based on Linked Data principles Solid (derived from "social linked data") is a proposed set of conventions and tools for building decentralized social applications based on Linked Data principles. Solid is modular and extensible and it relies as much as possible on existing W3C standards and protocols. At a glance, here is what Solid offers... * True data ownership: Users should have the freedom to choose where their data resides and who is allowed to access it. By decoupling content from the application itself, users are now able to do so. * Modular design: Because applications are decoupled from the data they produce, users will be able to avoid vendor lock-in, seamlessly switching between apps and personal data storage servers, without losing any data or social connections. * Reusing existing data: Developers will be able to easily innovate by creating new apps or improving current apps, all while reusing existing data that was created by other apps. In addition to the main Solid webpage, Inrupt(a startup company created to work on Solid) has some good pages https://solid.inrupt.com/ Solid has server implementations, tools, apps, etc. The main repository is https://github.com/solid * node-solid-server is the server reference implementation * there are various libraries for doing things like authorization, ACLs, OpenID, etc * There are some apps listed at https://github.com/solid/solid-apps Whomever takes this on will need to determine which components make sense to include in debian in order to provide a reasonable support for developing and deploying Solid applications. On https://solid.inrupt.com/community under "Packaging" they state they would like to get distro packages created. -- Matt Taggart tagg...@debian.org
