* Package name: e-wrapper
  Version : uhm... hard question
  Upstream Author : yours truly
* URL : https://github.com/kilobyte/e
* License : hard question again
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : wrapper to handle "$EDITOR file:lineno"
 All or almost all Unix editors support the syntax of "editor +42 file", to
 open the given file and start with the cursor at line 42. Alas, the syntax
 programs that output such data use is different: either "file:42: Something"
 or "file:42:1: Something", :1 being a column number.
 .
 This wrapper will recognize such references and call your $EDITOR using the
 + notation. Thus, once you see an error message, you can copy&paste the
 first word of it without having to manually adjust. Especially if your
 mouse selection is configured to allow ':', it's a single triple-click
 (L+L+M), and still pretty handy if not.
 .
 If your editor allows multi-open, "e" can also handle pipelines such as:
 * git grep MEOW|e -:
 * make 2>&1 >/dev/null|grep error:|e -::
 .
 Also, because of its short name, it reduces the typing needed to start the
 editor by half if you use vi, by 80% if emacs or jstar -- and that's by far
 the most frequent command an Unix user does.

Such a wrapper is small enough that it might be better to avoid wasting a
separate package just for it -- but then, /usr/bin/e is a namespace grab
that some might object to, thus they might want to not have this package
installed.

Dear Debian-Team,

it would be great if Debian ships Hibiscus. It's a great homebanking
application for hbci homebanking.
I prefer this program due to moneyplex doesn't feel good to me and GNUcash is
'too much' for simply banking.

Hibiscus [1] is licensed under GPL [2] and depends on hbci4java [3] (GPL, too
[4]) and the framework jameica [5] (also GPL [6]) from the hibiscus-author.

   Description : Ultralightweight JSON parser in ANSI C.

cJSON aims to be the dumbest possible parser that you can
get your job done with. It's a single file of C, and a single
header file.

As a library, cJSON exists to take away as much legwork as it can,
but not get in your way.

I intend to co-maintain this package inside collab-maint team.

People interested, please check the up-to-date list in the Gobby doc at
gobby.debian.org/Teams/Go/lxd-dep-packaging
(or the export at
https://gobby.debian.org/export/Teams/Go/lxd-dep-packaging). It contains
comments, #ITPs, etc.

To avoid packaging useless deps, we'll probably wait until 3.0.2 for a
proper LXD package (see comments in #905068).

Thanks to people already helping, with packaging or sponsoring!

Cheers,

Package: python3-pyqt5
Version: 5.9.2+dfsg-1

Hi, would it be possible to include, either as a patch or as an
additional package PyQtCharts
(https://pypi.python.org/pypi/PyQtChart/5.9) for PyQt5.9?

I try to use Python3 projects that use QtCharts and I get an import
error when Python hits something like this line:

from PyQt5.QtChart import QChart, QLineSeries, QChartView, QValueAxis

Thanks!

* Package name: fclib

* URL : https://frictionalcontactlibrary.github.io
* License : Apache 2.0
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Library of C routines to read and write problems from the
Friction Contact Library

fclib is an open source collection of Frictional Contact (FC) problems
stored in a specific HDF5 format, and an open source light
implementation of Input/Output functions in C Language to read and
write problems.

The goal of this work is to set up a collection of 2D and 3D
Frictional Contact (FC) problems in order to set up a list of
benchmarks; provide a standard framework for testing available and new
algorithms; and share common formulations of problems in order to
exchange data.

Fclib is an open-source scientific software primarily targeted at
modeling and simulating nonsmooth dynamical systems

Package notes: fclib is an optional dependency of Siconos, a nonsmooth
dynamical systems simulator. I plan to maintain it but propose it for
consideration with the Debian Science team. It is a very minimal
codebase with only libhdf5 and suitesparse as dependencies, and is not
expected to change very often, with the exception of likely adding a
higher-level layer in the future (e.g., a Python interface).

  Upstream Author : Michel Lang
* URL : https://cran.r-project.org/package=base64url
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: GNU R
  Description : GNU R fast and URL-safe Base64 encoder and decoder
 In contrast to RFC3548, the 62nd character ("+") is replaced with
 "-", the 63rd character ("/") is replaced with "_". Furthermore, the encoder
 does not fill the string with trailing "=". The resulting encoded strings
 comply to the regular expression pattern "[A-Za-z0-9_-]" and thus are
 safe to use in URLs or for file names.
 The package also comes with a simple base32 encoder/decoder suited for
 case insensitive file systems.

Remark: This package is a precondition to fix bug #882371 which needs
packaging of r-cran-batchtools which in turn needs r-cran-base64url to
build. It will be maintained by the R pkg team at

  Description : GNU R tools for computation on batch systems
 As a successor of the packages 'BatchJobs' and 'BatchExperiments',
 this package provides a parallel implementation of the Map function for
 high performance computing systems managed by schedulers IBM Spectrum LSF
 OpenLava, Univa Grid Engine/Oracle Grid Engine, Slurm, TORQUE/PBS, or
 Docker Swarm.
 .
 A multicore and socket mode allow the parallelization on a local machines,
 and multiple machines can be hooked up via SSH to create a makeshift
 cluster. Moreover, the package provides an abstraction mechanism to define
 large-scale computer experiments in a well-organized and reproducible way.

Remark: This package is a precondition to fix bug #882371. It will be

  Description : dictionary for macromolecular refinement and model building

Dictionary of ligands and constituent blocks (e.g. amino acids, nucleic
acids, sugars) contains necessary stereochemical information (e.g. bond
lengths, angles, torsion angles) about small molecules used in refinement
and model building. Values in the dictionary are for an abstract form of
monomers, i.e there is no conformational/configurational or environment

This package is required to package for coot (#897579). I will team-maintain it

You might want to mention in both the short and long description that
this is meant for Go games.

  Description : C++ library for working with GDSII binary data files

libGDSII is a C++ library for working with GDSII binary data files, intended
primarily for use with the computational electromagnetism codes scuff-em and

It is a recommended dependency for the newest version of meep.

The plan is to maintain it in the Electronics team.

Bug#906030: ITP: fsdiff -- Add new package filesystem diff

2018-08-13 Thread Ioannis Valasakis
Package: wnpp

X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

In order to extend my involvement with Debian and with future plans of being a
Debian Developer, I would like to add my new package fsdiff

to the Debian Repository and found somebody to adopt my effort.

fsdiff, is a very simple Python3 based command line tool, that lets you compare
two filesystems (with a future addition to mount img and iso images

as well). It used currently as a proof of concept, post-build step of an OS
distribution system but it's far from complete. I am very happy to continue

it maintenance and effort in the future as well.

I have already created a deb package following the Debian Policy and
Documentation, but still it would be invaluable to have an experienced Mentor's

opinion! The source can be downloaded from
https://github.com/kanocomputing/fsdiff

Bug#906056: ITP: xserver-xorg-video-sunffb -- X.Org X server -- Sun FFB display driver

2018-08-13 Thread Gregor Riepl
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Gregor Riepl

* Package name: xserver-xorg-video-sunffb
  Version : 1.2.2
* URL : http://www.x.org
* License : MIT/X
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : X.Org X server -- Sun FFB display driver

This package provides the driver for Sun Creator, Creator3D, and Elite3D
video devices.

More information about X.Org can be found at:
http://www.X.org>

This package is built from the X.org xf86-video-sunffb driver module.

This driver was previously removed from Debian along with sparc support.
With the sparc64 Debian port, it has become useful again.

I'd like to re-introduce it into Debian to provide support for the
aforementioned video adapters, found in certain Sun Microsystems
graphical workstations.

For the time being, I'd like to maintain it together with the Debian
sparc/sparc64 port team, and if possible, with the X Strike Force at
a later point of time.

Despite being useful only on Sun graphical workstations, the package
builds fine on any architecture, so I think it would be acceptable to
include it on the Debian package servers.

The project hasn't received any upstream updates in a long time,
but was not deprecated and is still supported in recent X.Org versions.

I disagree. The package should only build on sparc/sparc64 so doesn't
need to be in Debian at this time. What purpose would building/shipping
it anywhere else serve?

Cheers,
Julien

Good point - the issue with limiting it to sparc64 only is that this is
currently a ports-only architecture, so the package would have to go into the
"unreleased" repository, making it more tedious to maintain.

This was suggested by John:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/2018/08/msg00087.html

I'd very much like to get it closer to a state that is acceptable for the XSF,
so any advice is appreciated.

I'm maintaining the package here:

And a previous upload to mentors is here:

Bug#906065: ITP: postgrest -- Serve a RESTful API from any Postgres database

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jonas Weber

* Package name: postgrest
  Version : 5.0
  Upstream Author : Joe Nelson
* URL : https://postgrest.org/
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Haskell
  Description : Serve a RESTful API from any Postgres database

>From the webpage:

PostgREST is a standalone web server that turns your PostgreSQL database
directly into a RESTful API. The structural constraints and permissions
in the database determine the API endpoints and operations.

Using PostgREST is an alternative to manual CRUD programming. Custom API
servers suffer problems. Writing business logic often duplicates,
ignores or hobbles database structure. Object-relational mapping is a
leaky abstraction leading to slow imperative code. The PostgREST
philosophy establishes a single declarative source of truth: the data
itself.

I'll need a sponsor to upload the resulting packages to the
repositories.
