 Description : efficient cross platform serialization library

FlatBuffers is an efficient cross platform serialization library for
games and other memory constrained apps. It allows you to directly
access serialized data without unpacking/parsing it first, while still
having great forwards/backwards compatibility.

I'll give flatbuffers a try, I'm interested in flatbuffers as a dependency
needed for kde's kube (https://kube.kde.org/).

I created a packaging salsa project here:
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/flatbuffers

Merge requests are welcome. :)

Ups, that was a lie, the project was created by Nobuhiro Iwamatsu. I was
checking the flatbuffers, sink and kube code base last week and I today,
when I found that an empty project was already present, I tought I created
the repository and forgot about it.

Nobushiro, sorry to meddle with this package. Please let me know if you are
willing to group maintain this package, if not, please take the ownership of
this bug.

  Description : Plugin for sudo that requires another human to approve and

sudo is used to run commands as privileged users, but on some sensitive systems,
you really want to ensure that no individual can act entirely autonomously. This
plugin enforces that no user can act entirely on their own authority within
these systems, by requiring a separate auditor to monitor the interactive sudo
session.

Note that the package really should be split into multiple source

Package name: libdsk
Version : 0.9.1
Upstream Author : John Elliott
URL : http://www.seasip.demon.co.uk/Unix/LibDsk/
Licence : GPL v2
Description : Library for accessing disks and disk image files

 Libdsk is a library, intended for use in emulators, for accessing disks
 and disk image files.

 Libdsk provices drivers for raw files (including /dev/fd*), .dsk files (as
 used in some Amstrad and Sinclair emulators), MYZ80 hard drive image files,
 and (in the Linux version) the Linux floppy drive. It also provides floppy
 controller emulation.

As is usual for libraries, there is a complementary -dev package.

(Since I am currently applying to become a DD, a sponsor is required.)

* Package name: r-cran-bh

  Description : GNU R package with Boost header

This package (for which I upstream as well) has become a build dependency for
a number of CRAN packages, and hence Andreas Tille asked me to package this.

There is of course overlap with liboost-all-dev and its components. BH is
however very useful in the R and CRAN world as it provides a uniform layer of
Boost headers there (with minimal patching; I have to shorten one path name).
So in the interest of having Debian behave like other systems it makes sense
to package it here. We are also currently ahead of Debian packaging which is
still at Boost 1.58.0.

Regards,  Dirk

  Description : PSM2 runtime, dev and compatibility libraries for Intel
Omni-Path

libpsm2 provides the Performance Scaled Messaging API for user-space
applications that wish to perform high-bandwidth, low-latency RDMA
communications (e.g. openmpi, mvapich2).

The predecessor of PSM2 is the PSM API provided by libpsm-infinipath1. Intel
Omni-Path hardware and the supporting hfi1 kernel module require use of
PSM2.

libpsm2 will be able to coexist on a system that has libpsm-infinipath1
installed. It is not a replacement for libpsm-infinipath1. A host that has
PSM and PSM2 capable hardware should be able to use either API, depending
upon the fabric interface needed for communications.

This proposal involves multiple packages:

  * libpsm2 - runtime libraries for PSM2
  * libpsm2-dev - development headers and linker libraries for PSM2
  * libpsm2-compat - compatibility library for PSM applications

The purpose of libpsm2-compat is to allow a PSM application to use hardware
that requires PSM2 (e.g. Intel Omni-Path). An example of such an application
is openmpi 1.6.5. By prepending the compatibility library's installation
directory to LD_LIBRARY_PATH, a PSM application is able to transparently
use the PSM2 API without requiring a code port or recompilation.

I have been maintaining the Intel Fabric Suite for Omni-Path on Debian for
the past year as an employee of System Fabric Works (SFW). SFW has adequate
hardware and resources to test and maintain this package.

  Description : A JSON Hyperschema codec for Core API.

Core API is a format-independent Document Object Model for representing
Web APIs.

It can be used to represent either Schema or Hypermedia responses, and
allows one to interact with an API at the layer of an application
interface, rather than a network interface.

This package provides a third-party codec to coreapi in order to allow it
to support jsonhyperschema.

 This package provides a Python 2 version along with the Python3 version
 because all coreapi packages provide such Python2 version. It is thus a
 matter of consistency. As some packages depend on Python2 version of
 djangorestframework (which is the only thing that Depends on coreapi
 packages, I intend to commit myself at removing the python2 support for
 coreapi and djangorestframework as soon as buster is stable. I'll handle
 the transition as best as I can with the maintainers of the packages that
 transitively depend on coreapi.

  Description : A Comprehensive Image Viewer Using EFL

Ephoto is an image viewer and editor written using the Enlightenment
Foundation Libraries(EFL). It focuses on simplicity and ease of use,
while taking advantage of the speed and small footprint provided by
EFL.

--

While there are many image viewers in Debian already, this one is
interesting because it has an interesting mix of features. It has a
grid view to browse images from the filesystem directly and slideshow
support but can also act as a simple standalone image viewer. It can
also operate basic filters and image modifications.

This is similar to Shotwell or Digikam, but much more lightweight in
that images do not need to be imported.

Hopefully this can be part of the e-team..?

  Description : Internationalization extension for SQLAlchemy models

 Extend SQLAlchemy models to include translations in different languages.
 .
 Each model can have an associated model that contains translatable fields.
 .
 Translatable attributes are available in the current locale via a hybrid
 property on the base model.

I plan to maintain this package as part of the python modules team.

Are there any reasons why a debian/spm.install like this one wouldn't
be an appropriate solution to §10.4?

#!/usr/bin/dh-exec
spm.sh => /usr/bin/spm

I guess it might be annoying to carry a patch for a manpage that would
effectively s/spm.sh/spm/...

Cheers,
Nicholas

/usr/bin/spm is already shipped by another package as noted in the
initial report.

Renaming the binary to simple-password-manager or so would probably
work.

HTTP::Tiny::Multipart adds a post_multipart method to HTTP::Tiny.

HTTP::Tiny is a very simple HTTP/1.1 client, designed for doing simple
requests without the overhead of a large framework like LWP::UserAgent, and
is part of perl core since 5.13.9

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

Description: generates and inspects UUIDs based on RFC 4122
 This package generates and inspects UUIDs based on RFC 4122
 (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4122) and DCE 1.1: Authentication and
 Security Services.
 .
 This package is based on the "github.com/pborman/uuid" package. It differs
 from these earlier packages in that a UUID is a 16 byte array rather than
 a byte slice. One loss due to this change is the ability to represent an
 invalid UUID (vs a NIL UUID).

Bug#900387: RFP: abduco -- lightweight session manager with {de,at}tach support

2018-05-29 Thread Brian Clinkenbeard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: abduco
  Version : 0.6
  Upstream Author : Marc André Tanner
* URL : http://www.brain-dump.org/projects/abduco/
* License : ISC
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : lightweight session manager with {de,at}tach support

abduco provides session management i.e. it allows programs to be run
independently from its controlling terminal. That is programs can be detached -
run in the background - and then later reattached. Together with dvtm it
provides a simpler and cleaner alternative to tmux or screen.

This package was included in Debian for a short while but was removed
due to the Debian package maintainer being inactive. abduco has a number
of advantagers over dtach that are described in the homepage and is
significantly more maintained. dvtm, a package by the same developer, is
intended to be paired with abduco for many use cases and already exists
within Debian.

Bug#900390: RFP: multiload-ng -- modern graphical system monitor for XFCE/MATE/LXDE/Ubuntu Unity and others

2018-05-29 Thread Rogério Brito
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: multiload-ng
  Version : 1.5.2
  Upstream Author : Mario Cianciolo
* URL : http://udda.github.io/multiload-ng
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : modern graphical system monitor for XFCE/MATE/LXDE/Ubuntu
Unity and others

Multiload-ng is a modern graphical system monitor. It's a near-complete
rewrite of the good old GNOME multiload applet, that aims to support every
existing panel.

It supports the following panels:

* XFCE (xfce4-panel)
* LXDE (lxpanel)
* MATE (mate-panel)
* Ubuntu Unity (through libappindicator)
* Every panel with support for Application Indicators
* System tray (virtually any panel with a systray, in particular those
  without external plugins support, like tint2)
* Standalone (has its own window, not embedded in any panel)
* Avant Window Navigator (EXPERIMENTAL)

Multiload-ng can be built with GTK2 and GTK3, so can be embedded within
GTK2/GTK3 builds of all the panels above.

---

This package is very useful for people that want to run some desktops like
XFCE or LXDE that don't have system monitors as complete and/or as useful as
multiload-ng.

Even for desktops like MATE, which has its fork of GNOME 2's multiload
applet, multiload-ng provides integrated, in one single process, other
monitors, which obviate the use of extra applets (which wake up the
processor at non-synchronized times and prevent lowering the battery
consumption for notebooks).

This package would ideally be maintained by someone from the LXDE and/or the
XFCE teams. It is really useful and versatile.

Thanks,
