GNOME has had support for saving documents to Google Drive for some
time. Now Plasma Desktop has this to! I do not currently use this
software, but I am certain that I will use it, albeit casually.

I hope to maintain it as part of the pkg-kde-extras team, and I will
need a sponsor.

Kiwi is an efficient C++ implementation of the Cassowary constraint solving
algorithm. Kiwi is an implementation of the algorithm based on the seminal
Cassowary paper. It is *not* a refactoring of the original C++ solver. Kiwi
has been designed from the ground up to be lightweight and fast. Kiwi ranges
from 10x to 500x faster than the original Cassowary solver with typical use
cases gaining a 40x improvement. Memory savings are consistently > 5x.

In addition to the C++ solver, Kiwi ships with hand-rolled Python bindings.

Bug#895253: ITP: elisa -- Simple music player with a focus on Plasma desktop integration and privacy

2018-04-14 Thread Matthieu Gallien
Hello,

I would like to clarify the local versus online music features in Elisa.

We plan to first focus on very good support for local music before trying to
support online services.

Local music was the focus of the 0.1 version and will probably be also the
focus of the next version.

I have started looking at online services and most of the popular ones no
longer provide a simple way to use them outside their clients. We will need
time to add support for them.

We would also want to add support for MusicBrainz for example even if again
the priority is to first support correctly local music before adding support
for that.

Best regards

Moreover, if I read the [announcement] correctly, it seems that PySide2
is going to be renamed as "Qt for Python" and adopted as official Qt
bindings for Python...

[announcement]:

I really hope someone with good Python Debian packaging skills will
soon package pyside2 for inclusion in Debian!
This will be greatly appreciated.

Bye.

Yeah, I considered patching it to use that. But I think Chef recipes can
reasonably assume that tomlrb is present, when Chef itself uses it.

From what I see on the TOML wiki [0] the tomlrb library is in better
shape that ruby-toml. I see an issue about merging the many ruby toml
implementations [1], but crickets so far...

Bug#895688: RFP: libtepl -- a text editor library

2018-04-14 Thread John Scott
Package: wnpp

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

* Package name: libtepl
  Version : 4.0.0
  Upstream Author : Sébastien Wilmet
* URL : https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Tepl
* License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : a text editor library

Tepl is a library that eases the development of GtkSourceView-based
text editors and IDEs. Tepl is the acronym for “Text editor product line”.
It serves as an incubator for GtkSourceView.

The upstream author maintains this library with the intent of making Gedit
source code more reusable for use in text editors using GtkSourceView.

I believe that this package is needed in Debian because it is a dependency
of recent versions of GNOME LaTeX, formerly called LaTeXila, which is
currently packaged under the latter name in Stretch and Buster. This
library is needed to package a new upstream version.

Tepl 3.99.1+ requires GtkSourceView 4, which is only in experimental at the
moment.

Bug#895694: ITA: storebackup -- fancy compressing managing checksumming deduplicating hard-linking cp -ua

2018-04-14 Thread Oliver Meißner
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to adopt the storebackup package.

I still created a package at mentors.debian.net, including the newest
upstream version and closing some bugs. Maybe there's someone out there
who wants to review and sponsor it. Oh, btw... I could need a mentor in
order to become a DM (or DD) someday :)

The source package is downloadable at
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/storebackup/storebackup_3.5-2.dsc

The package description is:
 Copies directory hierarchies recursively into another location,
 by date (e.g.  /home/ => /var/bkup/2002.12.13_04.27.56/).
 Permissions are preserved, so users with access to the backup
 directory can recover their files themselves.
 .
 File comparisons are done with MD5 checksums, so no changes go
 unnoticed.
 .
 Hard-links unchanged backuped files to old versions and
 identical files within the backuped tree.
 .
 Compresses large files (that don't match exclusion patterns).

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to adopt the storebackup package.

I still created a package at mentors.debian.net, including the newest
upstream version and closing some bugs. Maybe there's someone out there
who wants to review and sponsor it. Oh, btw... I could need a mentor in
order to become a DM (or DD) someday :)

The source package is downloadable at
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/storebackup/storebackup_3.5-2.dsc

The package description is:
 Copies directory hierarchies recursively into another location,
 by date (e.g.  /home/ => /var/bkup/2002.12.13_04.27.56/).

Bug#895712: ITP: misspell-fixer -- Tool for fixing common misspellings, typos in source code.

  Programming Lang: Bash
  Description : Tool for fixing common misspellings, typos in source code.

 Utility to fix common misspellings, typos in source code.
 There are lots of typical misspellings in program code.
 Typically they are more eye-catching in the living code but they can easily
hide in comments, examples, samples, notes and documentation.
 With this utility you can fix a large number of them very quickly.

Reason:
I have not found any sourcecode typofixer tool in Debian.
Some users also mentioned that their life would be a little easier with a
packaged version.

Bug#895717: ITP: nb2plots -- Converting between ipython notebooks and sphinx docs

2018-04-14 Thread Sandro Tosi
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sandro Tosi

* Package name: nb2plots
  Version : 0.6
  Upstream Author : Matthew Brett
* URL : http://github.com/matthew-brett/nb2plots
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Converting between ipython notebooks and sphinx docs

nb2plots converts Jupyter notebooks to ReST files for Sphinx, and back again.

Nb2plots assumes that the ReST document will become the source for your Sphinx
web pages, but also for future versions of the notebook. The notebook may serve
as a draft for the polished ReST page, and an output format from the Sphinx
build.

this is needed by python-networkx/2.1
