JTidy is a Java port of HTML Tidy, a HTML syntax checker and pretty printer.
Like its non-Java cousin, JTidy can be used as a tool for cleaning up malformed
and faulty HTML. In addition, JTidy provides a DOM interface to the document
that is being processed, which effectively makes you able to use JTidy
as a DOM parser for real-world HTML.

Bug#884612: O: concurrent-dfsg -- utility classes for concurrent java programming

I got a look at Colt, it only uses the FJTaskRunnerGroup feature of
libconcurrent-java which is an early implementation of what eventually
became the Java executors. I prepared a patch that should be equivalent,
but some real world testing would be nice.

Alternatively, I've found the ParallelColt project on GitHub [1] that
seems to be more recent than libcolt-free-java. It already uses the JDK
concurrent APIs, maybe it could be used as a replacement?

Bug#866167: Suggestion to include py-evm

2017-12-18 Thread Jason Carver at Ethcalibur
PyEthereum is deprecated, to be replaced by py-evm at
https://github.com/ethereum/py-evm/ . This move comes with the
blessing of the PyEthereum dev team, which is currently porting their
ongoing work over to py-evm.

It probably makes sense to include py-evm in this onboarding process.
Depending on the length of the process to get included, it might even
make sense to skip over PyEthereum altogether.

Severity: normal

I intend to orphan dateutils. Due to work changes and time constraints I no
longer use this package or have time to work on it and have not for some
time now.

The package description is:

dateutils - nifty command line date and time utilities

Dateutils are a bunch of tools that revolve around fiddling with dates and
times in the command line with a strong focus on use cases that arise when
dealing with large amounts of financial data.

  Upstream Author : Max Kuhn
* URL : https://cran.r-project.org/package=recipes
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: GNU R
Description : GNU R preprocessing tools to create design matrices
This GNU R package provides an extensible framework to create and
preprocess design matrices. Recipes consist of one or more data
manipulation and analysis "steps". Statistical parameters for the steps
can be estimated from an initial data set and then applied to other data
sets. The resulting design matrices can then be used as inputs into
 statistical or machine learning models.

Remark: This package is the last precondition to upgrade r-cran-caret to
its latest upstream version. It will be maintained by the Debian Science

I believe such package should be in contrib (not main).

Not quite. On Linux you need CAP_NET_ADMIN in some user namespace. To
use lwip you would presumably need raw access to a network device,
which also requires a privileged capability.

If you enable unprivileged user namespaces in Linux then any user is
allowed to create a new user namespace, and a net namespace owned by
it, and then to create and configure various kinds of virtual device
within that net namespace. (In Debian this feature is guarded by a
sysctl that's off by default, as a security mitigation.)

Even if that's disabled, a privileged container manager can create a
new user namespace and start a container within that namespace with the
CAP_NET_ADMIN capability.

Ben.
