This looks like a lot of NOH work just to not use systemd timer units...

Sure, but that takes time and packages are broken right now.

I'm all for getting rid of the legacy fork package once it is no longer
needed.

Thanks for the feedback, this sounds better.

I can't exactly tell if it's SVG or LibreOffice metadata, but I created
a simple test.odt with only a TexMaths equation inside. After unzipping
this .odt, I can see the original LaTeX in content.xml in a
node. I tried copying and pasting the image from LibreOffice to
Inkscape, but I couldn't find the original LaTeX in the resultant SVG.

  Description : Language parser library

Libcleri is a powerful tool to build languages. From a built language, libcleri
can automatically create parse trees, which are data structures representing
how a grammar matches input. It also provides feedback in case the input does
not match the language. This can be useful for auto-completion, suggestions or
error handling.

This package is a dependency of SiriDB, another ITP that I'll file shortly.

I'll start a team to maintain the SiriDB suite once alioth is enabled to create
new projects again.

  Description : legacy fork of declarative binary data parser/builder

construct (python-construct, python3-construct) as of version 2.8 has
broken its API which has been a problem during the stretch release
(#853082). I believe that a proper solution to this mess is to patch the
handful affected packages so that they import code from construct_legacy
instead of construct and have them depend on this package.

v0.1.1
BSD-3-Clause
Connor Imes

This project provides the powercap library -- a generic C interface to the
Linux power capping framework (sysfs interface). It includes an implementation
for working with Intel Running Average Power Limit (RAPL).

It also provides the following applications:
powercap-info - view powercap control type hierarchies or
zone/constraint-specific configurations
powercap-set - set powercap control zone/constraint-specific configurations
rapl-info - view Intel RAPL hierarchies or zone/constraint-specific
configurations
rapl-set - set Intel RAPL zone/constraint-specific configurations

I suspect this source should produce multiple packages.
First, the library only, e.g., libpowercap or libpowercap0
Second, a development package for the library with headers and pkg-config file,
e.g. libpowercap-dev
Finally, the binaries and man pages, e.g. powercaputils (alternatively, the
RAPL-specific binaries could be packaged separately as raplutils - most users
would only want the RAPL components). Please advise if these should have a
separate RFP.

Cheers,
-Connor Imes

* Package name: tryton-nereid-project
  Version : 2.8.0.1dev
  Upstream Author : Openlabs Technologies & Consulting (P) Ltd.
* URL : https://github.com/openlabs/nereid-project/
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : web application for Tryton project management

 Nereid Project is a collaborative development platform mainly used for
 managing project processes, but could be used for managing any kind of
 project. It is designed to help organise projects & tasks. The aim is
 to connect everything together on a single interface, avoiding
 unnecessary time consumption, and track project’s progress, task’s
 status, shared files, time spent on individual tasks.
--- End Message ---
--- Begin Message ---
nereid_project is definitely unmaintained since more than 3 years and there is
no sign that the project will be resumed. There is (and evaluating the
current situation never will be) no suitable target version for the
Tryton dependencies.

Therefore closing this out-dated RFP.

Bug#724284: RFP: tryton-nereid -- web framework on top of Tryton Application Platform

2017-11-27 Thread Mathias Behrle
Catchup of the current situation:

Still the pretty same situation as more than one year ago:
- nereid will never be included in Tryon core
- nereid will always lag substantially behind Tryton upstream
  - current nereid targets 4.0
  - current Tryton version 4.6

The same arguments as in
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=724284#15
still apply.

If there is no further input on this bug opposing to close it I will do that on
my next cycle of controlling RFP bugs for Tryton.

Bug#804232: ITP: tryton-sao -- Web Client for the Tryton Application Platform

2017-11-27 Thread Mathias Behrle

Catchup of the current situation:

tryton-sao is incompatible with the current verions of some of its
dependencies and thus still not fit for unstable.

The situation will improve when we have versioned dependencies for javascript
packages.

Bug#882857: O: python-mplexporter -- general matplotlib exporter

2017-11-27 Thread W. Martin Borgert

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning python-mplexporter, because I don't use it anymore.
It is team maintained in the Python modules team, maybe somebody
in the team likes to take over? Note, that there are new commits
on GitHub, which might justify an updated package.

If nobody takes over until buster deep freeze, I tend to remove
the package. At least from buster, maybe from unstable, too.

Bug#882858: O: python-mpld3 -- D3 viewer for matplotlib

2017-11-27 Thread W. Martin Borgert

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm orphaning python-mpld3, because I don't use it anymore.
Also, upstream does not support it anymore.

If nobody objects in the next days/weeks, I'll ask to remove
the package from Debian unstable and testing.

Bug#882761: ITP: opencascade -- Open CASCADE Technology is a suite for 3D surface and solid modeling

2017-11-27 Thread Anton Gladky
Hi,

thanks for intending to package opencascade! I would though recommend not
to have both versions (original and the fork) in Debian at the same time.

If you have good reasons to bring back original version, please contact Debian
Science Team, which is maintaining oce (and actually FreeCAD) at the moment.
We will try to find a solution for that.

Best regards

Thank you for investigating this. It sounds like the "image
attribute" is an attribute specific to the "" node, which is
specific to the odt format (content.xml), and not to SVG or PNG
metadata. Because of this, I think the following phrase should be
changed like this:

- and the LaTeX code is embedded into the image attribute for further
- editing.
+ and the LaTeX [code|expression|equation|source, your choice. I like
+ "source"] is stored alongside the image in the ODT format. You can
+ later use TexMaths to edit the LaTeX [source] and regenerate the
+ image. If ever you find yourself without LibreOffice, you can unzip
+ the ODT and extract the source from content.xml to transfer the
+ LaTeX to another TeX editor.

This is possibly a bit verbose, but I think it's important to say how
work done with TexMaths can be transferred to another editor. eg:
someone begins work with TexMaths and he/she needs to get some work
done on a system where LibreOffice cannot be installed. And besides,
isn't that sort of thing part of the beauty/utility of TeX? ;-)

Kind regards,
Nicholas

* Package name: fonts-noto-emoji
  Upstream Author : googlei18n
* URL : https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji
* License : SIL Open Font License v1.1 (fonts) and Apache v2.0 (tools
and image resources).
  Programming Lang: Python, C
  Description : "No Tofu" emoji font

Emoji are an extremely common form of expression in modern
communication, yet the present options for displaying them in Debian are
hacky at best. For example, this effort
https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji will display emoji correctly in
Firefox but will only be black-and-white system-wide (so not in Chrome).
Similarly,
ttf-ancient-fonts can be installed for very ugly, B&W emoji.

The best solution I've currently found is based on this post:
http://stdio.tumblr.com/post/114082931782
and involves: downloading NotoColorEmoji.ttf from the noto-fonts Android
git repository, copying it to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/, and creating a
/etc/fonts/conf.d/01-notoemoji.conf with the contents:

  Noto Color Emoji

  true

However, NotoColorEmoji can be built from its source at
https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji and it has a very friendly
license. It would be great to have the NotoColorEmoji font as a Debian
package to be easily installed and automatically configured.

  Description : Color emoji set from Android

Noto color emoji is the emoji font set originated from the Android
project. It currently supports Unicode 9.0 specs with emojis for
different skin tones and family forms.

A Debian user discovered that Jessie includes the fontconfig capable of
rendering color emoji, but needs a workaround for a bug fixed in newer
fontconfig that is not in Debian main yet:
http://stdio.tumblr.com/post/114082931782

Currently this package should be best maintained with the supports from
Debian Fonts Task Force.

Package: fbcmd - New package (wishlist) - Facebook for the command line
Version: 1.0-beta5-dev1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Thank you for supplying so many packages in Debian. :) There is a new hope for
facebook on the horizon and the package is called "fbcmd" - It's facebook for
the command line. I love the command line and I'm sure, there are many
Debian-users out there, which are also loving the command line.

So I would like to ask, if it is possible to supply a package for fbcmd in
experimental / sid / testing.

Have a great day!

* Package name: tmsu
  Version : 0.4.2
  Upstream Author : Paul Ruane
* URL : http://tmsu.org/
* License : GPLv3
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : command-line file tagging tooI and tag-based
virtual filesystem

TMSU is a tool for tagging your files. It provides a simple
command-line tool for applying tags and a virtual filesystem so that
you can get a tag-based view of your files from within any other
program.

TMSU does not alter your files in any way: they remain unchanged on
disk, or on the network, wherever you put them. TMSU maintains its own
database and you simply gain an additional view, which you can mount,
based upon the tags you set up. The only commitment required is your
time and there's absolutely no lock-in

Features:
* Tagging Files: Use the tag command to apply tags to files: $ tmsu
tag summer.mp3 music
* Merging tags: merging an accidentally created umsic tag into the
existing music tag: $ tmsu merge umsic music
* Specify values for tags: $ tmsu tag spring.mp3 year=2003; tmsu tag
summer.mp3 year=2008
 * Listing Tags: $ tmsu tags summer.mp3
 *  Listing Files: $ tmsu files mp3; $ tmsu files mp3 big-jazz; tmsu
files "(mp3 or flac) and not big-jazz"; tmsu files year = 2010; tmsu
files "music and year >= 2000 and year < 2010"
 * Virtual File-System

$ mkdir mp
$ tmsu mount mp
$ ls mp
queries
tags
$ ls mp/tags
big-jazz mp3 music
$ ls -l mp/tags/music
drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 big-jazz
drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 mp3
drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 spring.2.mp3 ->
/home/paul/spring.mp3
drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 summer.1.mp3 ->
/home/paul/summer.mp3
drwxr-xr-x 0 paul paul 0 2012-04-13 20:00 winter.3.mp3 ->
/home/paul/winter.mp3

Files in the virtual file-system are actually just symbolic links back
to the tagged file's real location elsewhere on the file-system. This
means they can be used just like regular files from any application: $
acmeplayer mp/tags/music/summer.1.mp3

 * Queries: In addition to the tags view, there is also a queries
directory in which you can run view queries just like those we ran
earlier with the files command.

$ ls mp/queries
README.md
$ mkdir "mp/queries/mp3 and not folk"
$ ls "mp/queries/mp3 and not folk"
summer.1.mp3
winter.3.mp3

  Description : Simple chat program using inaudible sounds and a computer's
microphone and speaker

Simple chat program using near ultrasonic frequencies. Works without Wifi or
Bluetooth and won't show up in a pcap.

Note: If you can clearly hear the send script working then your speakers may
not be high quality enough to produce sounds in the near ultrasonic range.
Run python send.py in one terminal window and python listen.py in another. Text
you input into the send.py window should appear (after a delay) in the
listen.py window.

Quietnet is dependant on pyaudio and Numpy.

  Description : Linux file search, instant results as you type

Attempt at making Linux version of Everything Search Engine, or MasterSeeker,
or Hddb File Search, because no one else bothered. Everyone seems to be damn
content with linux file searches which are slow, populating results as they go,
cli based only, heavily integrated with a file manager, limited to home
directory, or are trying to be everything with full-text file's content search.
Done in python 3 using PyQt5 for GUI, PyQt4 branch exists

Screenshots at https://github.com/DoTheEvo/ANGRYsearch

Lite mode vs Full mode

ANGRYsearch can be set to two different modes in its config, default being lite

lite mode will not index size of files and date of last modification, it
shows only items name and path
full mode shows size and date of the last modification, the drawback is
that indexing takes roughly two times longer since every file and folder gets
additional stats calls during indexing

What you should know:

   * by default the search results are bound to the beginning of the words
presented in the names
   * it would not find "Pirates" or Whiplash", but it would "Pirates" or
"The-Fifth"
   * unchecking the checkbox in the top right corner fixes this, but searching
gets slower
   * database is in ~/.cache/angrysearch/angry_database.db
   * config file is in ~/.config/angrysearch/angrysearch.conf
   * it can take ~2 min to index ~1 mil files(depending on hdd/ssd) and the
database might be ~300MB in size in lite mode
   * it is not recommended to run as root, there's no reason for it and you
might crawl where you would rather not, like Btrfs users going in to snapshots
   * xdg-open is used to open the files based on their mimetype, default
applications can be set in ~/.local/share/applications/ in mimeapps.list and
defaults.list

This is basically a simpler/command-line alternative to Popcorn-time
(RFP: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=741972, Homepage:
http://popcorntime.io/)

Running perfectly on debian Jessie.
I've packaged it using fpm (https://github.com/jordansissel/fpm):
  sudo aptitude install rubygems build-essential libopenssl-ruby ruby1.8-dev
  sudo gem install fpm
  fpm -s npm -t deb peerflix

(though the package quality is totally unsuitable for inclusion in the debian
repos)

It would also be fairly easy to write a graphical wrapper for this.

  Description : A free Web Gallery for your server

PhotoShow is a free, open-source, and very easy to use web gallery installable
 on any web server. Only two lines of configuration, and you're good to go !
 Adding and sorting photos, albums, users, and groups have never been easier.
 Simply drag and drop them wherever you want. To delete a photo or an album,
 just drag and drop it on the bin. Easy ! PhotoShow automatically generates
 the whole website, including the thumbnails. Also, if your photos are bigger
 than 800x600px, it generates a smaller version for displaying (the big
 version is still available for your viewers to download, of course). The
 architecture of PhotoShow's albums is created using the File System directly:
 no database is required to use PhotoShow. You can use your File System
 directly to add, move, or delete albums and pictures. PhotoShow is compatible
with DropBox, along with all of your Unix tools, because it is based on the
File System. Use rsync, scp, or anything you prefer to interact
 with your photos. Each of your files and folders has its owns permissions,
 configurable in PhotoShow by the Admin (you). On the go, select which
 group/user can access an item. PhotoShow provides a proxy for accessing the
 images, checking if the user is allowed to view an image or not. It is
 advised to place the directory for your photos in a folder not accessible by
 the web. Then, passing through PhotoShow's proxy will be necessary to access
 the images, ensurring you that only allowed users can view them.

I'm still interested in such a feature in Debian, hence reopening.

And since the bug report has been closed by the original submitter,
I'm setting myself as submitter now so the original submitter won't be

Bug#882973: O: pidgin-nateon -- Pidgin plugin for NateOn instant messaging service

2017-11-27 Thread Changwoo Ryu
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the pidgin-nateon package.

The package description is:
 This is a plugin for Pidgin which provides connections to NateOn instant
 messaging service by SK Communications, Inc. (http://nateon.nate.com)

Information:

There is no replacement. This is why I orphan it rather than removing
it.

The NateOn messaging service is still in service but it has lost most of
the market share. I see no one using it around, but the popcon
graph still shows some installations.

The upstream and its forked version stopped the maintanance.
