  Description : Some additional Go cryptography routines

This repository contains Go packages related to cryptographic standards
that are not included in the Go standard library. These include:

• SIV mode (http://go.pkgdoc.org/github.com/jacobsa/crypto/siv),
which provides deterministic encryption with authentication.

• CMAC (http://go.pkgdoc.org/github.com/jacobsa/crypto/cmac), a message
authentication system used by SIV mode.

This library is required by gocryptfs (#839279).

The Debian Go Packaging Team is listed as the Maintainer. I intend to
provide ongoing support.

  Description : High-performance, platform-neutral implementation of
VNC  Virtual Network Computing)

TigerVNC is a high-performance, platform-neutral implementation of VNC
(Virtual Network Computing), a client/server application that allows
users to launch and interact with graphical applications on remote
machines. TigerVNC provides the levels of performance necessary to run
3D and video applications, and it attempts to maintain a common look
and feel and re-use components, where possible, across the various
platforms that it supports. TigerVNC also provides extensions for
advanced authentication methods and TLS encryption.

TigerVNC was originally based on the (never-released) VNC 4 branch of
TightVNC.

  Description : GNU R package for solving systems of nonlinear equations

This R package solves a system of nonlinear equations using a Broyden or a
Newton method with a choice of global strategies such as line search and trust
region. There are options for using a numerical or user supplied Jacobian, for
specifying a banded numerical Jacobian and for allowing a singular or
ill-conditioned Jacobian.

The package will be maintained within the Debian Science Team.

  Description : High-speed Virtual Network Computing (VNC)

TigerVNC is a high-performance, platform-neutral implementation of VNC (Virtual
Network Computing), a client/server application that allows users to launch and
interact with graphical applications on remote machines. TigerVNC provides the
levels of performance necessary to run 3D and video applications, and it
attempts to maintain a common look and feel and re-use components, where
possible, across the various platforms that it supports. TigerVNC also provides
extensions for advanced authentication methods and TLS encryption.

I am somewhat a heavy VNC user and I have been test-driving upstream's binary
build with VirtualGL on the server side for more than a month now. I am so far
extremely satisfied with its performance (was able to play HD youtube video
remotely without any major slugishness, and use some opengl quite smoothly) and
stability. It would be great to get tigervnc into Debian to replace aged
alternatives.Some relevant discussion was done at

Bug#840724: ITP: gall -- Git Abstraction Layer for Lua

2016-10-14 Thread Daniel Silverstone
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Daniel Silverstone

* Package name: gall
  Version : 1.1
  Upstream Author : Daniel Silverstone
* URL : https://git.gitano.org.uk/gall.git/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C, Lua
  Description : Git Abstraction Layer for Lua

Gall is a Git abstraction layer for Lua which implements a set of Lua objects
which can interact with git repositories (via libgit2 where possible).

Gall allows a Lua program to examine refs and objects, and to fully create
git commits without needing to create a working tree on disk.

Gall is part of the set of packages which are the dependencies of Gitano
which I am working toward packaging for Stretch.

Initially I shall maintain the package, but I have one or two potential
assistants, neither of which are DDs or DMs (yet).

Bug#840726: ITP: lace -- Lua Access Control Engine

2016-10-14 Thread Daniel Silverstone
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Daniel Silverstone

* Package name: lace
  Version : 1.3
  Upstream Author : Daniel Silverstone
* URL : https://www.gitano.org.uk/lace/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Lua
  Description : Lua Access Control Engine

Lace is an access control engine written in Lua which implements a squid-like
ACL system for Lua programs to use in controlling access to resources.

Lace provides a parser of rulesets and an engine to execute the parsed
rulesets. It relies on the calling application to provide access
control types and then Lace runs the boolean logic and returns an
allow/deny result along with the location of the decision and any
description provided by it.

Lace is part of the dependencies for Gitano which I am trying to get
packaged and into Stretch.

Initially I shall be maintaining the package myself, but I do have
two possible assistants lined up.

* URL : https://github.com/julian-klode/sicherboot

  Programming Lang: Shell
  Description : Installs systemd-boot and kernels to ESP, signed for secure
boot

 sicherboot manages kernels and systemd-boot on a secure boot
 machine. It installs kernels and systemd-boot, generates signing keys to
 enroll in the machine, and signs the kernels and the bootloader with it.
 .
 The keys used to sign the UEFI binaries are located in /var/lib. If /var/lib
 is not encrypted, the whole setup is unsafe: One of the files generated is
 rm_PK.auth, which, when written to UEFI, reverts the system to setup mode
 where no checks are performed.
 .
 Currently, the package only supports amd64 architecture. It also has to
 divert the /etc/kernel/postinst.d/dracut file and replace it with its
 own file that calls the diverted one and updates the ESP afterwards, as
 dracut does not support any form of hooks.

Lifting the amd64 restriction requires a bit more work: Triggers
need to be adjusted and the correct EFI binaries need to be found
at run time (for the EFI stub which allows us to merge a kernel
with an initramfs).

Thanks! I've just gone through to re-check them, renamed a few to the canonical
names for the relevant dev packages, leaving just three missing:

 lxd-build-deps : Depends: golang-gopkg-flosch-pongo2.v3-dev but it is not
installable
  Depends: golang-gopkg-inconshreveable-log15.v2-dev but it is
not installable
  Depends: golang-gopkg-lxc-go-lxc.v2-dev but it is not
installable

(I've pushed changes to debian/control just now)

I have a flosch package somewhere that I started last week, I'll try to dig
it out.

Ah right, sorry, should have been looking for the binary package name
instead. Ok, then let's convert this into a bug against that package,
as cleanups and a request for a new upstream. :)

Attached the new diff.

(I've also renamed the Vcs field values, but those would need intervention
on alioth. :)

(Also, I noticed the choice of licensing for debian/* and while everyone
is obviously free to choose whatever they like, this kind of divergence
could create problematic siutation when adding local patches, as those
might not be acceptable to upstream for example.)

Thanks,
Guillem

From what I looked, this is a fork of
golang-github-tendermint-log15-dev, which is the archive. There seem to
be very few changes, so it might just work:
https://github.com/inconshreveable/log15/compare/master...tendermint:master

Not sure what the pkg-go team policy is on this kind of very similar
packages, but I'm sure people actually in the team can answer. :)

Cheers and thanks for working on this !

* Package name: golang-github-kardianos-service
  Version : 0.0~git20160824.0.7a88211-1
  Upstream Author : Daniel Theophanes
* URL : https://github.com/kardianos/service
* License : zlib
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : Run go programs as a service on major platforms

 service will install / un-install, start / stop, and run a program as a
 service (daemon). Currently supports Linux/(systemd | Upstart | SysV),
 OSX/Launchd and Windows XP+.
 .
 Windows controls services by setting up callbacks that are non-trivial. This
 is very different than other systems. This package provides the same API
 despite the substantial differences. It also can be used to detect how a
 program is called, from an interactive terminal or from a service manager.

This package is a dependency of telegraf latest upstream releases.

Attached a working and tested packaging, where only the ITP bug number
needs to be filled in the debian/changelog, Maintainer changed, and Vcs
fields added.

Bug#840777: ITP: hotdoc -- documentation tool using CommonMark

2016-10-14 Thread Andrew Shadura
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andrew Shadura

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

* Package name: hotdoc
  Version : 0.8
  Upstream Author : Mathieu Duponchelle
* URL : https://github.com/MathieuDuponchelle/hotdoc
* License : LGPL-2.1+
  Programming Lang: Python 2
  Description : documentation tool using CommonMark

HotDoc aims at being a highly modular API documentation tool / library
for C and C++ libraries (initially).
.
It is based on clang for the source code parsing, and CommonMark for
the formatting.
.
It was previously based on pandoc, and a pandoc backend will be
available again soon, but the dependency tree with a hard pandoc
dependency was just too deep.
.
It features:
.
 * An incremental build system, that only rebuilds the output depending
   on the changed resources.
 * A pretty comprehensive extension system, handmade and bound to be
   subjected to API breakage until the 1.0 version of hotdoc is
   released.
 * A built-in gobject-introspection extension, which will expose
   gobject-specific concepts (properties, signals, annotations ...).
 * Themeability (see this example Persisting of the documentation
   through sqlalchemy, with an API to access it. An example project
   that uses this API is the hotdoc server, which will soon be made
   public.
 Many more things!

pandoc (the binary package) seems to have a reasonable set of
dependencies:
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14), libffi6 (>= 3.0.4), libgmp10, liblua5.1-0,
libluajit-5.1-2, libpcre3, libyaml-0-2, zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4), pandoc-
data (>= 1.17.2~dfsg-1), pandoc-data (<< 1.17.2~dfsg-1.~)
What tree are you referring to?

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#840791: ITP: ros-robot-state-publisher -- publish the state of a robot to tf

2016-10-14 Thread Johannes Schauer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Johannes Schauer

We (Robotics section of Debian Science team) are packaging ROS (Robot OS:
http://www.ros.org/) for Debian. ROS uses many packages already in Debian,
but also has a set of core/toolchain/build-system packages which are not yet
uploaded. This package is part of that ROS system.

Most of the packaging work is already done, and available at
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-science/packages/ros/

* Package name: ros-robot-state-publisher
  Version : 1.13.2
* URL : http://www.ros.org/wiki/robot_state_publisher
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : publish the state of a robot to tf

This package is part of Robot OS (ROS). This package allows you to publish the
state of a robot to tf. Once the state gets published, it is available to all
components in the system that also use tf. The package takes the joint angles
of the robot as input and publishes the 3D poses of the robot links, using a
kinematic tree model of the robot. The package can both be used as a library
and as a ROS node.

This package is required to run the Google Cartographer ROS nodes:

Bug#792101: Dependency Hell

2016-10-14 Thread Michael Lustfield
Well, my fellow gogs-enthusiasts. I've come up with an initial list of build
dependencies that would be required before going after including gogs in
debian.

With this list... I'm no longer certain that gogs /should/ be included in
Debian. I don't know what's considered normal when it comes to golang, but this
looks to me to be excessively bad design.
