Bug#816883: ITP: ruby-websocket-extensions -- Generic extension manager for WebSocket connections

2016-03-06 Thread Hleb Valoshka
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Hleb Valoshka <375...@gmail.com>

* Package name: ruby-websocket-extensions
  Version : 0.1.2
  Upstream Author : James Coglan
* URL : https://github.com/faye/websocket-extensions-ruby
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : Generic extension manager for WebSocket connections

A minimal framework that supports the implementation of WebSocket extensions in
a way that's decoupled from the main protocol. This library aims to allow a
WebSocket extension to be written and used with any protocol library, by
defining abstract representations of frames and messages that allow modules to
co-operate.

websocket-extensions provides a container for registering extension plugins,
and provides all the functions required to negotiate which extensions to use
during a session via the Sec-WebSocket-Extensions header. By implementing the
APIs defined in this document, an extension may be used by any WebSocket
library based on this framework.

We need it to fix #816882.

Bug#811377: [Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Adopting Sysvinit

2016-03-06 Thread Simon Richter
Hi,

On 06.03.2016 11:30, Petter Reinholdtsen wrote:

> I can approve members to the alioth project.

Okay, I think it makes the most sense to use the Alioth project then,
I've just applied to become a member of the project.

Should we schedule a "bug fixing weekend" at some point to get the
number of open bugs down?

I also plan to add a few tests on Jenkins -- specifically

 - check that transitioning from and to systemd works
 - check that debootstrap with sysvinit works, without having to boot
into systemd
 - check that debootstrap default installation doesn't break

Same here. In fact, I've not had the time to properly setup the environment
required for pre-upload QA on sysvinit for a *long* time, so I was always in
an "advisory" mode anyway.

Thanks.

Simon Richter's request for project access arrived after you did your
approval run, apparently. I have just approved him.

While approving Simon, I noticed we use "junior" developer as the non-admin
role level (I initially thought we used "senior" developer). Just to make
it clear, there are no differences at all between the junior and senior
developer roles in the pkg-sysvinit alioth project.

Retitling the bug accordingly (s/RFP/ITP/) :)

Please use X-Debbugs-Cc instead of plain Cc next time, then the

You can also just use "dpt gen-itp" from a preliminary source package

Bug#816925: ITP: condetri -- Perl-based trimming of Illumina FASTQ files

2016-03-06 Thread Steffen Möller
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Steffen Moeller

* Package name: condetri
  Version : 2.3
* URL : https://github.com/linneas/condetri/
* License : to be clarified
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perl-based trimming of Illumina FASTQ files

There is no particular technical challenge in packaging a Perl
script with not dependencies. It is more about rendering the
community aware of this (published and referenced) tool to
increase flexibility in biological workflows.

The "trimming" is a means of quality control in next-generation
sequencing workflows, i.e. the quantification of the abundance
of transcripts or genomic fragments. This particular tool was
developed in the context of de novo genomic sequencing.

The package yet cannot be uploaded because of the license not
being declared. Upstream is informed.

  Programming Lang: C
Description : dkms source for the Broadcom 1570 PCIe webcam
Broadcom 1570 PCIe webcam is a device driver to support the Facetime HD
PCIe webcam found on recent Macbooks.

This package provides the source code for factimehd kernel module and
makes use of the DKMS build utility to install it for the running
   kernel.
Needed firmware is provided by firmware-broadcom-pcie-webcam.

This package aims to provide support for Broadcom PCIe camera found on
recent Macbooks.
It also uses a binary firmware which will be provided in a separate
package.

I personaly use it at work. AFAIK, there're no similar package in Debian.
I plan to maintain it by myself, but it might be relevant for me to join
an existing team, like pkg-kernel since it's a kernel driver

I'm looking for a sponsor with Kernel & DKMS knowledge to ensure the package
will respect packaging requirements.

Jean Baptiste Favre

Sorry, I must have replied in private to Markus, telling him that I was
able to patch jajuk-1.10.9 for using Debian's libjaudiotagger-java
(simple package change).

So a jaudiotagger update is not (strictly) necessary at this time.
(it _may_ at some point be neeeded for jajuk>1.10).

Many Thanks for the offer, Tony!

be familiar to, and easily adopted by, application developers.

I think they would suggest that you work with Sven Schnelle to get the
driver included in the mainline Linux kernel drivers.

It's also worth noting that adduser is a Debian native package. There is
no upstream. By adopting this package, you effectively become the
upstream owner of it as well. How's your perl? :)

A few folks have expressed interest in maintaining this package. All of
you sound relatively new to Debian package maintainership. Do any of you
actually have up upload access at this time, or are you looking for
sponsors? The package has a number of Severity: important bugs; have you
looked through this list and are you comfortable with fixing these? Note
that many of them are likely to involve interactions with the PAM
system, as well as LDAP, NIS/YP, Kerberos, and other network
directory/authentication systems. It also has a large number of reverse
dependencies.

I intend to orphan kwstyle. The package is in good shape (0 bugs!), upstream
has not made much changes since my latest upload.
I have not been using it for years, so it is better if somebody else step-up.

Description is:

Style checker for source code
KWStyle is integrated in the software process to ensure that the code written
by several users is consistent and can be viewed/printed as it was written by
 one person.
 .
KWStyle is primarily checking C/C++ source code but can be easily extended to
other languages. It assumes that the code is syntaxically correct, i.e it
 compiles on a standard compiler.
