2016-01-16 Thread toogley

sorry. i don't understand this point: You say, i should correct my
changelog.

Not really. It was primarily meant as advice for the next time. :-)
You can fix it if you want, though, but you don't need to. (I should
have been more explicit in this regard...)

I did understand it as an advice/friendly suggestion/improvement, so
don't worry :)

As example how its done correctly you cite my own commit?

Not. :-)

You don't need to add changelog items if you fix things in the scope
of the current changelog entry (i.e. if you fix anything which has
been added after the last upload).

==> i wanted to make my changes explicit, as it may be not obvious that
i ran debconf-updatep. But,well here is the updated version.

from my repo..)

2016-01-16 Thread toogley

Not sure. The translators seem active:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~wicd-devel/wicd/experimental/changes/954?start_revid=954

There seems no code change since March anymore. But that's less than a
year ago, so it's hard to say.

well, i have to admit i haven't checked the activity before applying for
the maintainership - but it's not very encouraging for me as a potential
maintainer to see upstream doubting their dev activity and additionally
seeing not very much activity in the project. :/

the "Launchpad automatic translations update." seem to be not started by
translators, so i'm not sure if that counts as project activity^^

Bug#811167: ITP: msgpuck -- MsgPack serialization library in a self-contained header file

2016-01-16 Thread Roman Tsisyk
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Roman Tsisyk

* Package name: msgpuck
  Version : 1.0.1
  Upstream Author : Roman Tsisyk
* URL : https://github.com/rtsisyk/msgpuck
* License : BSD-2-Clause
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : MsgPack serialization library in a self-contained header
file

 MessagePack is a binary-based efficient object serialization library.
 It enables to exchange structured objects between many languages like JSON.
 But unlike JSON, it is very fast and small.
 .
 MsgPuck is very lightweight header-only library designed to be inlined to
 application by the C/C++ compiler. The library is fully documented and
 covered by unit tests.

- This package is a Build-Dependency for:
  * tarantool, libdr-tarantool-perl - currently a bundled version is used
  * libtarantool-dev, tarantool-memcached, php5-tarantool and other which
I also plan to submit later.
- libmsgpack4 provides similar functionality:
   * This library is 1K SLOC, whereas libmsgpack4 is 80k+ SLOC.
   * libmsgpack4 is the official reference implementation, this library is
 an alternative realization of MessagePack specification.
   * This library is intended to be inlined to have better performance,
 whereas libmsgpack4 is heavyweight and very slow.
   * libmsgpack4 forces developers to use pre-defined abstractions such as
 buffers, dynamic allocation o memory and so on, this library does not.
   * This library is licensed under BSD2, libmsgpack4 is ASL 2.0
- I'm upstream maintainer of this package.
- I plan to support this package via a sponsor, Dmitry E. Oboukhov (CC'd).

Bug#811169: ITP: colorfultabs -- Color tabs differently and make them easy to distinguish

2016-01-16 Thread Ximin Luo
Package: wnpp

  Version : 29.7
  Upstream Author : Shivanand Sharma
* URL : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/colorfultabs/
* License : CC-BY-NC-ND-3.0-US
  Programming Lang: JS
  Description : Color tabs differently and make them easy to distinguish

 ColorfulTabs is a Firefox extension that colors every tab in a different color
 and makes them easy to distinguish. It also beautifying the overall appearance
 of Firefox. ColorfulTabs does one and/or more of the following:
 .
  * Colors each tab using pre selected colors in a definite order starting from
the left.
  * Colors each tab using a unique and randomly generated color.
  * Colors each tab using a unique color depending on the site domain using a
formula.
  * Allows user to chose colors.
  * Allows one to fade the background tabs for easy identification of the
selected tab.
  * Allows quick identification of the tabs.
  * Allows quick identification of tab boundaries.
  * Increases usability and visibility for people with visual challenges.

The author has given me an exception (via private email, which I will reproduce
in debian/copyright) to create a derivative work for Debian. I understand that
this is not DFSG and will be problematic for other distributions to work on top
of - I will try to persuade him to re-license under a proper FOSS license;
failing that I will upload to non-free instead.

any special reason for not naming the package 'xul-ext-colorfultabs'?
There seems to be a consensus to prefix the AddOns for Iceweasel and
Icedove with xul-ext-*. By this you can easily do packaging by the help
of mozilla-devscripts.

Hi Carsten, the name "colorfultabs" above refers to the source package name,
which conforms to what the policy you linked states:

The binary package's name should be xul-ext- with being the
extension's name. E.g. xul-ext-nostalgy for Icedove's nostalgy extension. The
source package's name should be or -extension if the name is too
generic. E.g. adblock-plus, nostalgy, notify-extension.

You might want to check it over using check-all-the-things (in
experimental), that will probably show some things that need
polishing. You might also want to suggest that upstream put their code
in a VCS repository and read our upstream guide.

the point of the tyrquake its that WORKS IN NON OPENGL supported GPU's
taking in consideration that recent version of debian only supports
directly intel gpu's

so my matrox gpu (not reconised ) can play 99% of games, and either my
old VIA unichrome not dri2 supported!

that's why linux not have good suport for most used targets in desktop users!

tyrquake works perfectly in my older good machine with newer debian
(now more slowly) jeesie release

if nobody have time, i made a preliminay dsc ITP package of! only need

Bug#811186: ITP: keysnail -- bind commands to key sequences in Iceweasel

2016-01-16 Thread Sean Whitton
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sean Whitton

* Package name: keysnail
  Version : 2.1.9
  Upstream Author : Masafumi Oyamada
* URL : https://github.com/mooz/keysnail/wiki
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: JavaScript
  Description : bind commands to key sequences in Iceweasel

KeySnail is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox that aims to be a
competitor and lightweight alternative to Vimperator. Unlike
Vimperator, KeySnail provides a comfortable browsing experience
for Emacs users (but its target users are not limited to Emacs
users).  (description adapted from upstream).

I intend to maintain this package as part of the pkg-emacsen team.

 ivyplusplus (ipp) adds a few useful features to ivy, such as creating
 an eclipse project from your deps. Aside from ivy itself, you get a
 few extra tasks and a command line tool that creates a new project by
 filling out a skeleton build.xml and ivy configuration.

  Description : Reduce boilerplate code in Java projects

 "Boilerplate" is a term used to describe code that is repeated in
 many parts of an application with little alteration. One of the most
 frequently voiced criticisms of the Java language is the volume of
 this type of code that is found in most projects. This problem is
 frequently a result of design decisions in various libraries, but is
 exacerbated by limitations in the language itself. Project Lombok
 aims to reduce the prevalence of some of the worst offenders by
 replacing them with a simple set of annotations.

uploading new upstream versions?

Nothing against you, but a .deb for an 89-line macro sounds a bit
overkill to me:
=
$ wget http://elpa.gnu.org/packages/let-alist-1.0.3.el
[...]
$ wc -l let-alist-1.0.3.el
162 let-alist-1.0.3.el
$ grep -v '^;' -c let-alist-1.0.3.el
89
$
=

JFTR, I needed it as well as a dependency for Flycheck and ended up
installing everything from (M)ELPA :-(

Thx, bye,

  Description : HTTP server for Qt applications

A collection of classes that allow Qt applications to provide an

I am looking for a sponsor for this package and I am willing to be the

fixing bugs and keeping the package up-to-date, is so far the best
thing you can do with the package (as maintainer) :)

cheers,

I want to package emacs-pdf-tools [1] because it combines Emacs Lisp
with a C program. It would be very useful for users to be able to just
apt-get a tricky combination like that. So I need to package let-alist
as a dependency.

That's what I want to avoid!

 I'm not sure I always read your English right. But if you mean how
the packages are split, then I don't think it worths to create
separate packages for every compiler. The binary is one and half
megabytes this way.
The debug symbols use the link-doc feature.
