Bug#799643: ITP: golang-github-spf13-afero -- FileSystem Abstraction System for Go
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Anthony Fok * Package name: golang-github-spf13-afero Version : 0.0~git20150908.0.6ced24d-1 Upstream Author : Steve Francia * URL : https://github.com/spf13/afero * License : Apache-2.0 Programming Lang: Go Description : FileSystem Abstraction System for Go Package Afero provides types and methods for interacting with the filesystem as an abstraction layer for the Go Programming Language. . It provides a few implementations that are largely interoperable. One that uses the operating system filesystem, one that uses memory to store files (cross platform) and an interface that should be implemented if you want to provide your own filesystem. . It is suitable for use in any situation where you would consider using the OS package as it provides an additional abstraction that makes it easy to use a memory-backed file system during testing. It also adds support for the http filesystem for full interoperability. . Afero has an exceptionally clean interface and simple design without needless constructors or initialization methods. Reason for packaging: Needed by Go applications such as: * Hugo, the static website generator, http://gohugo.io/ To be maintained within the pkg-go-maintainers team.

Andreas - if you're too busy once the package is ready, I'm also happy to look at sponsoring this. Does this RFP include the web-based frontend? Reminders are good. > ping :| Thanks for the nudge. I've started initial packaging, which resulted in finding a couple more blockers, lua-messagepack and msgpack. I'll be able to sponsor lua-messagepack soon, but it will have to go through NEW. The current msgpack in the archive is older than what neovim needs and the maintainer looks to be MIA. If I don't hear from the maintainer soon, I may need to work on msgpack. It's also likely to require a trip through NEW since I think they had an ABI change. FWIW I am very good and close friends with the RStudio founders and several of their engineers. But most (power R) users I know (myself included) happily use their dailies from http://www.rstudio.org/download/daily/ It would be a lot of work to get (and keep) this packaged as RStudio found over the years to often require newer-than-packaged tools like Qt, Boost, and more. While it would be nice to see it packaged, maybe we have other more urgent tasks. Not sure. Good luck anyway! Dirk -- http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com | @eddelbuettel | e...@debian.org

FWIW I repackage the stable debs (built on Ubuntu 1204) from https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/ into a PPA here https://launchpad.net/~aims/+archive/ubuntu/aims-desktop so that my users install via apt and get updates. I just unpack their deb and repack it as a binary package with dependencies added. Only the desktop version (not server version) as we need this to work on student laptops while offline. Would love to see rstudio in Debian. I currently lack the time to maintain this package alone. This includes a high-level library along with a versatile app called xorriso for burning and image production. It has grown a tremendous amount of options, to the point of being "language" interpreter on its own right, also featuring other program option personalities (like these of mkisofs, cdrecord). This is the hardest part to thoroughly test. Debian-cd image production is in the hands of xorriso, except for the PowerPC images due to lack of ISO9660/HFS(+) support which is currently emerging. Upstream conversations and following upstream VCS are almost a must. Upstream is responsive. The alioth project could be reached at: pkg-libburnia-de...@lists.alioth.debian.org Co-maintainers welcome. It maps file objects from POSIX compliant file systems into Rock Ridge enhanced ISO-9660 file systems and features session-wise manipulation of such file systems. It can load the management information of existing ISO images and write the resulting session to optical medium or as file system objects. . Supported optical media types: - CD-R, CD-RW - DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM - BD-R, BD-RE . Some interesting features: - Emulation of the mkisofs and cdrecord programs. - Data backup and restore capabilities - compression, ACLs, and filters. - Isohybrid MBR with partition offset - features booting ISOLINUX from USB sticks, or from other devices that appear to PC-BIOS as hard disks. The images carry a conventional partition table for a USB stick; the first partition reports the size of the ISO image, but starts at a non-zero address. It is nevertheless still mountable. - Jigdo Template Export - jigdo representation of the resulting ISO-9660 image, generated on the fly. . Test suite: xorriso source code comes with a release engineering test-suite called `releng', which aims to cover most of the functionality of the xorriso and the underlying libraries of libburn, libisofs, and libisoburn. --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Hi, a new set of libisoburn 1.4.0-3 packages is now in "unstable". libisoburn stays maintained by the pkg-libburnia team and is currently sponsored by Dominique Dumont. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Anthony Fok * Package name: golang-github-magiconair-properties Version : 0.0~git20150731.0.337395e-1 Upstream Author : Frank Schröder * URL : https://github.com/magiconair/properties * License : BSD-2-clause Programming Lang: Go Description : Java properties scanner for Go properties is a Go library for reading and writing properties files. . It supports reading from multiple files and Spring style recursive property expansion of expressions like ${key} to their corresponding value. Value expressions can refer to other keys like in ${key} or to environment variables like in ${USER}. Filenames can also contain environment variables like in /home/${USER}/myapp.properties. . Comments and the order of keys are preserved. Comments can be modified and can be written to the output. . The properties library supports both ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8 encoded data. . Starting from version 1.3.0 the behavior of the MustXXX() functions is configurable by providing a custom ErrorHandler function. The default has changed from panic to log.Fatal but this is configurable and custom error handling functions can be provided. See the package documentation for details. Reason for packaging: Needed by golang-github-spf13-viper, which is in turn needed by Hugo the static website generator. To be group-maintained with pkg-go team.

Bug#799747: ITP: golang-github-miekg-mmark -- Mmark: a markdown processor in Go geared for the IETF
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Anthony Fok * Package name: golang-github-miekg-mmark Version : 1.2-694-gbc8de59-1 Upstream Author : Miek Gieben * URL : https://github.com/miekg/mmark * License : BSD-2-clause Programming Lang: Go Description : Mmark: a markdown processor in Go geared for the IETF Write RFCs using markdown. Mmark (written in Go) provides an advanced markdown dialect that processes a single file to produce internet-drafts in XML format. Internet-drafts written in mmark can produce XML2RFC v2 and XML2RFC v3 output. . Mmark is a fork of blackfriday which is a Markdown processor implemented in Go. It supports a number of extensions, inspired by Leanpub, kramdown and Asciidoc, that allows for large documents to be written. It is specifically designed to write Internet Drafts (I-Ds) and RFCs for the IETF. With mmark you can create a single file that serves as input into the XML2RFC processor. . It can currently output HTML5, XML2RFC v2 and XML2RFC v3 XML. Other output engines could be added. . It adds the following syntax elements to blackfriday: . * Definition lists. * More enumerated lists. * Table and codeblock captions. * Table footer. * Subfigures. * Quote attribution. * Including other files. * TOML titleblock. * Inline Attribute Lists. * Indices. * Citations. * Abstract/Preface. * Parts. * Asides. * Notes. * Main-, middle- and backmatter divisions. * Example lists. * HTML Comment parsing. * BCP14 (RFC2119) keyword detection. * Include raw XML references. * Abbreviations. * Super- and subscript. * Callouts in code blocks. . Mmark is forked from blackfriday which started out as a translation from C of upskirt. . A simular effort is kramdown-rfc2629 from Carsten Bormann. Reason for packaging: Needed by Hugo the static website generator. To be maintained within the pkg-go team.
