Bug#780270: RFA: qemuctl

2015-03-11 Thread Tobias Frost
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Well, one can see that qemuctl has aged and is probably near its end of its
lifecycle.
Upstream is also very quiet so the best idea would be to file an RM-type bug
instead of
an RFA. However, has a inst popcon of around 500, so maybe this frontend is
still of
use for someone -- so that someone shold get the change to adopt this package.

(On the other side, if noone steps up, I will ask for removal in -- say -- 6
months)

The package's repository is on collab-maint.

(For the procedure: Just ITA this and be happy.. no need to ask)

>From d/control:

Description: controlling GUI for qemu
This is a controller GUI for the run-time options of QEMU computer
emulator. It can be used as a stand-alone application or as a plug-in
for Qemu Launcher. (Only x86 PC emulator is supported.)

Bug#705844: zuul: reowning as an ITP

2015-03-11 Thread Antoine Musso

retitle 705844 ITP: zuul -- zuul - a project gating system
owner 705844 !
tags 705844 + pending
thanks

Hello,

I have abandoned the idea of packaging for a while, but this is not
being a requirement for the infrastructure I manage.

The upstream is OpenStack infrastructure team and I have asked on their
list whether they have any interested in having Zuul packaged:

http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-infra/2015-March/002514.html

I will work closely with Debian Developers that maintains the Wikimedia
infrastructure. Should hopefully get a nice package out of it.

For now, I am focusing on having a rough package for the current
Wikimedia infrastructure which is using Ubuntu Precise, a snapshot of
Zuul and a few patches that haven't been merged yet.

Next step will be to get a package shipping current upstream code
targetting Debian/Jessie.

Description : analysis of C and C++ files to find unnecessary header

deheader analyzes C and C++ files to determine which header inclusions can be
removed
while still allowing them to compile. This may result in substantial
improvements in
compilation time, especially on large C++ projects; it also sometimes exposes
dependencies and cohesions of which developers were unaware.

I am orphaning and request an adopter for the pcre3 package.

If you don't already know what it is, you're probably not the right person to
take it over, but the description is:

This is a library of functions to support regular expressions whose syntax
and semantics are as close as possible to those of the Perl 5 language.

I am orphaning this because I intend to retire from Debian, as I don't feel I
have enough time to do a good job any more. It's an important package and I
wouldn't orphan it otherwise.

The package is currently in a reasonably good state.

Description : Ribosomal Database Project (RDP) sequence reading and
writing library
Sequence reading library developed by the Ribosomal Database Project. Can
handle genbank, embl, fasta, fastq, sff and sto files. Can read from files
or streams, and can handle indexing files.
 .
A basic rdp-readseq command line program is also included.
 .
The ReadSeq project is a library used by other RDP tools.

Remark: This library is part of RDPTools an it might be that the full
suite might be packaged in the future. However, currently Tim Booth
from BioLinux has packaged only those parts which are relevant to get
Qiime dependencies packaged and thus his work is simply reused. It will
be maintained by the Debian Med team at

* Package name: git-restore-mtime
Version : git only; asking upstream
Upstream Author : Rodrigo Silva (MestreLion)
* URL : https://github.com/MestreLion/git-tools
* License : GPL3+
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : set timestamps to the date of a file's last commit
This utility can set timestamps in a git checkout to the last commit that
changes a given file. This is useful whenever meaningful mtimes are wanted,
as "last change" is better than "last checkout". Use cases include syncing
timestamps on a web server's contents, preparing a release tarball, etc.
Pretty much, every scenario other than an unclean source tree where you're
about to type "make" without "make clean".
 .
When called from a post-checkout trigger, this is the equivalent of
 Subversion's "use-commit-times".
 .
Unlike metastore, git restore-mtime gives you only commit times rather than
the true original timestamp; on the other hand it works retroactively and
doesn't require a manual action by every contributor in every working copy.

Description : library that sets the TCP keep-alive flag when applications
call socket

libdontdie is a shared library that can be injected into any application
with the LD_PRELOAD mechanism. It is completely transparent to the
application and therefore works equally well with closed-source programs
and with languages like Java that do not natively allow changing the TCP
keep-alive parameters.

Description : Cross platform drop-in replacement for spawn

Cross-spawn is a drop-in replacement for nodejs's spawn which does not
have full support on all platforms. Cross-spawn is a thin wrapper around
child_process.spawn which provides restarts.

node-cross-spawn is required for node-bluebird (#779305) and will be maintained
in the Javascript Team.

I request an adopter for the sagasu package.

  The package description is:

GNOME tool to find strings in a set of files

The user specifies the search directory and the set of files

to be searched. Double-clicking on a search result launches a

user command that can for example load the file in an editor

at the appropriate line. The search can optionally ignore

   CVS directories.
