Bug#772530: ITP: libxml-treepuller-perl -- Pull interface to work with XML document fragments

* URL :
http://search.cpan.org/~triddle/XML-TreePuller-0.1.3_01/lib/XML/TreePuller.pm
* License : GPL1 and Artistic1
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Pull interface to work with XML document fragments

This module implements a tree oriented XML pull processor providing fast and
convenient unmarshalling of extremely large XML documents serially.
Unmarshalling means the module is intended to turn the XML document into
datastructures, not transform it. Tree oriented means the data is returned from
the engine as a tree of data replicating the structure of the original XML
document. Pull processor means you sequentially ask the engine for more data
(the opposite of SAX). This engine also supports breaking the document into
fragments so the trees are small enough to fit into RAM.

  Description : builder of compact tree structures from XML documents

This module provides functions that use XML::LibXML::Reader to parse an XML
document into a parse tree formed of nested arrays (and hashes).
It aims to be fast in doing that and to presreve all relevant information from
the XML (including namespaces, document order, mixed content, etc.). It
sacrifices user friendliness for speed.

  Description : zap Windows Western gremlin characters

 CP1252 or "Windows Western" is a superset of Latin-1. Accidentally
 treating such strings as either Latin-1 or UTF-8 is common, and leads
 to "gremlins" - broken misfit characters.
 .
 Encode::ZapCP1252 detects freak characters and either transliterates
 them into ASCII counterparts or translates them to UTF-8 equivalents.

* Package name: iva

  Upstream Author : Martin Hunt
* URL : https://github.com/sanger-pathogens/iva

  Description : Assemble virus genomes lacking repeat sequences using
Illumina read pairs

 IVA is a de novo assembler designed to assemble
 virus genomes that have no repeat sequences,
 using Illumina read pairs sequenced from mixed
 populations at extremely high depth.
 IVA's main algorithm works by iteratively extending
 contigs using aligned read pairs. Its input can be
 just read pairs, or additionally you can provide an
 existing set of contigs to be extended. Alternatively,
 it can take reads together with a reference sequence.

 Most encoding conversion tools take input in one encoding and produce

 For string soups containing only ASCII, ISO8859-1 and CP1252 but no
 actual UTF-8 characters (even if encoded as such), Encode::ZapCP1252
 may be better suitable.

  Description : ImageJ plugin to import images from Orthanc

A plugin for ImageJ to browse the content of an Orthanc server, then import
2D/3D DICOM images from Orthanc into ImageJ.

This plugin hopefully greatly simplifies the indexation of DICOM images when
dealing with ImageJ (e.g. for quality control of DICOM modalities, or for
pedagogical use). There is also no need to carry on any complex network
configuration, since the plugin directly uses the REST API of Orthanc. This
makes its installation and its use quite straightforward.

  Description : generic producer and consumer for Apache Kafka

kafkacat is a generic non-JVM producer and consumer for Apache Kafka
0.8, think of it as a netcat for Kafka.

In producer mode kafkacat reads messages from stdin, delimited with a
configurable delimeter and produces them to the provided Kafka
cluster, topic and partition. In consumer mode kafkacat reads messages
from a topic and partition and prints them to stdout using the
configured message delimiter.

kafkacat also features a Metadata list mode to display the current
state of the Kafka cluster and its topics and partitions.

Bug#772572: RFP: python-pyroute2 -- pure Python netlink and Linux network configuration library

2014-12-08 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: python-pyroute2
  Version : 0.3.3
  Upstream Author : Peter V. Saveliev
* URL or Web page : https://github.com/svinota/pyroute2
* License : GPLv2+
  Description : pure Python netlink and Linux network configuration library

Pyroute2 requires only Python stdlib, no 3rd party libraries.

The library provides several modules:

* Netlink protocol implementations (RTNetlink, TaskStats, etc)
* Simple netlink socket object, that can be used in poll/select
* Network configuration module IPRoute provides API that in some way
  resembles ip/tc functionality
* IPDB is an async transactional database of Linux network settings

Comment:

Pyroute2 is planned to become a dependency of dhcpy6d, hence I'd be
happy if someone with more Python module packaging experience than me
could package it.

There is already some RPM packaging at
https://github.com/svinota/pyroute2/blob/master/packages/RedHat/python-pyroute2.spec
(which is also the only place where I found the "+" in "GPLv2+"
mentioned so far).

Bug#772575: ITP: libbtbb -- Libbtbb is the Bluetooth baseband library used by the Ubertooth and gr-bluetooth projects

2014-12-08 Thread Ruben Undheim
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Ruben Undheim

* Package name: libbtbb
  Version : 20141208
  Upstream Author : Dominic Spill
* URL : http://libbtbb.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Bluetooth baseband library used by the Ubertooth and
gr-bluetooth projects

This is the Bluetooth baseband decoding library, forked from the GR-Bluetooth
project. It can be used to extract Bluetooth packet and piconet information
from Ubertooth devices as well as GR-Bluetooth/USRP.

The main motivation for packaging this for debian is that it is a dependency
for ubertooth.

Bug#771414: BBBike: 771414 is a duplicate of 210245

2014-12-08 Thread W. Martin Borgert

I entered this one around 11 years ago:
https://bugs.debian.org/210245
Let's merge the bug reports, OK?
Cool that you are going to package it, because
BBBike changed Berlin more than any airport would.

Bug#772588: RFP: x-13arima-seats -- Seasonal adjustment software for modelling time series

2014-12-08 Thread Rytis Bagdziunas
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: x-13arima-seats
  Version : 1.1-9
  Upstream Author : U.S. Government
* URL : http://www.census.gov/srd/www/x13as
* License : Public Domain
  Programming Lang: Fortran 77
  Description : Seasonal adjustment software for modelling time series

X-13ARIMA-SEATS is a seasonal adjustment software produced, distributed,
and maintained by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Features include:

* Extensive time series modeling and model selection capabilities for linear
  regression models with ARIMA errors (regARIMA models)

* The capability to generate ARIMA model-based seasonal adjustment
using a version of the SEATS procedure originally developed by
Victor Gómez and Agustín Maravall at the Bank of Spain as well
as nonparametric adjustments from the X-11 procedure

* Diagnostics of the quality and stability of the adjustments achieved under
  the options selected

* The ability to efficiently process many series at once.

--
Further information

This kind of seasonal adjustment software is used by a number of
statistical agencies throughout the world to provide public with
seasonally adjusted data. It could be of interest to researchers working
in domains of economics or statistics and thus could be part of Debian
Science.

Console-based version of this software has no further dependencies.
There is also a package for R providing interface to X13 from within R.

If nobody's willing, I would be interested to try packaging it for
Debian and would need a sponsor.
