I intend to orphan igraph. My current interests have moved aways from
graphs and thus I do not have the proper ressource to maintain it
anymore.

the package is in good shape and is easy to update.

Description is:

 igraph is a library for creating and manipulating graphs.
 It is intended to be as powerful (ie. fast) as possible to enable the
 analysis of large graphs.

 pork is an ncurses-based AOL Instant Messenger and IRC client. It uses the
 OSCAR protocol (the one the windows client uses) to access AIM. Pork
 features Perl scripting; an online help system; the ability to
 configure nearly all aspects of the program's look-and-feel; an alias
 system; and a powerful, fully-configurable key binding system. It
 supports being logged in with more than one screen name at the same
 time. The default look-and-feel of the client is modeled after the
 ircII IRC client. Anyone comfortable using ircII (or any clients
 derived from it -- e.g., epic, BitchX, etc.) will feel comfortable
 using pork.

Bug#757354: [SoB] ITP: flintqs -- Program using quadratic sieve to factor integers

2014-09-01 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Julien,

sorry for not responding on your SoB request right in time. I totally
missed it since you have put your row in the Wiki table on top since I
always watch the end of the table for new entries. Since I did not
wanted to let you wait longer I simply fixed the hardening issue which
was easy enough by a simple patch. I regard the other hardening related
info as false positive and do not like to override it.

So I uploaded with some changes (also adding a pristine-tar branch which
should be always created according to Debian Science policy).

Thanks for preparing the package and feel free to ping me next time
earlier if you do not get response after three days when entering a line
in SoB

  Andreas.

Bug#745342: Status of twine in Debian

2014-09-01 Thread Zygmunt Krynicki
Hi Gaudenz

I've packaged twine and python-releases (a build dependency).
Python releases was rejected and thus I was unable to upload twine.

Twine and releases (not request!) are both in DPMT's SVN tree. Please
ping me on #debian-python (zyga) as I'd like someone to help me to
finish those and perhaps convert them to the new git world.

I haven't uploaded them to mentors. as I was working with Piotr
Ożarowski and it seems that DPMT is not using mentors.

Best regards
Zymunt Krynicki

Bug#760166: ITP: libjs-elycharts -- javascript library to generate static and interactive charts

2014-09-01 Thread Andreas Moog
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andreas Moog

* Package name: libjs-elycharts
  Version : 2.1.5
  Upstream Author : Eric Goth
Stefano Bagnara
Void Labs s.n.c.
* URL : http://elycharts.com
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Javascript
  Description : javascript library to generate static and interactive charts

This javascript library is used to generate static and interactive charts. It
supports dynamic data modification, allows for mouse tracking and highlighting
of specific parts in the chart. It also includes a variety of animations and
transformations to show the chart evolution.

Notes:

The long description could use improvement (I'm not good with words), I will ask
debian-l10n-english for help with it.

One of the packages I maintain (nzbget) introduces a new dependency on elycharts
in its new version.

If it is possible, I'd like to maintain elycharts within the Debian-Javascript
packaging team.

Bug#737050: Some corrections to the package

2014-09-01 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
Hi, I packaged wx3.0 doc, and after that I discovered this ITP and the package
on mentors...

For this reason I'm sending to you my debdiff against the version on mentors,
really similar but with the jquery lintian error fixed.

Also the copyright file in my opinion was outdated, so I changed it, removing
the wx3.0 code specific copyrights.

BTW feel free to change and remove me from uploaders, I thought nobody was
caring so I took the possibility, but if you care feel free to go on ;)

For the maintainer I think freewx-maint is the best choice... But I don't have
a strong opinion and I have no upload possibilities

* Package name: python-xstatic-angular
  Version : 1.2.16.1
  Upstream Author : Radomir Dopieralski
* URL : https://bitbucket.org/thesheep/xstatic-angular
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python, JS
  Description : Angular JS XStatic support

 XStatic is a packaging standard to package external (often 3rd party) static
 files as a Python package, so they are easily usable on all operating systems,
 with any package management system or even without one.
 .
 Many Python projects need to use some specific data files, like javascript,
 css, java applets, images, etc. Sometimes these files belong to YOUR project
 (then you may want to package them separately, but you could also just put
 them into your main package). But in many other cases, those files are
 maintained by someone else (like jQuery javascript library or even much bigger
 js libraries or applications) and you definitely do not really want to merge
 them into your project. So, you want to have static file packages, but you
 don’t want to get lots of stuff you do not want. Thus, stuff required by
 XStatic file packages (especially the main, toplevel XStatic package) tries to
 obey to be a MINIMAL, no-fat thing. XStatic doesn't "sell" any web framework
 or other stuff you don't want. Maybe there will be optional XStatic extensions
 for all sorts of stuff, but they won't be required if you just want the files.
 .
 By having static files in packages, it is also easier to build virtual envs,
 support linux/bsd/... distribution package maintainers and even windows
 installs using the same mechanism.

Note that the resulting Debian package do *not* include the upstream Angular
javascript, but only the Python wrapper.

The short description says everything. I am filing the RFP because the
module is a dependency of the mathematics software Sage (see [1]). I am
CCing the list to see if someone in the Python module team finds it useful.

* Package name: python-xstatic-qunit
  Version : 1.14.0.2
  Upstream Author : Radomir Dopieralski
* URL : https://github.com/stackforge/xstatic-qunit
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : QUnit XStatic support

Maybe there will be optional XStatic extensions
 for all sorts of stuff, but they won't be required if you just want the files.
 .
 By having static files in packages, it is also easier to build virtual envs,
 support linux/bsd/... distribution package maintainers and even windows
 installs using the same mechanism.
 .
 This package provides QUnit support as a Python module.

* URL : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/PySocks
* License : BSD-3-clauses
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : socket-like interface for tunneling through SOCKS

 This module provides a standard socket-like interface for Python for tunneling
 connections through SOCKS proxies. This is an updated version of SocksiPy.
 Many old bugs fixed, and overall code cleanup. It features:
  * Fully supports Python 2.6 - 3.4
  * SocksiPyHandler, courtesy e000, was also added as an example of how this
module can be used with urllib2. See example code in sockshandler.py.
  * Bugs in the original SocksiPy were fixed, including two that could lead
to infinite hanging when communicating with bad proxy servers.
  * urllib3, which powers the requests module, is working on integrating SOCKS
proxy support based on this branch.
  * SOCKS5, SOCKS4, and HTTP are now aliases for PROXY_TYPE_SOCKS5,
PROXY_TYPE_SOCKS4, and PROXY_TYPE_HTTP
  * Various style and performance improvements; codebase simplified
  * Actively maintained

This is a dependency for running Google cloud tools.

I'm happy someone's packaging it, but slightly surprised that nobody
thought to mention it to the wx maintainers.

It seems sensible to me for it to be under the team umbrella, since
we maintain the package it is the documentation for, and coordinating
uploads of new versions would be helpful to users. I'm certainly happy
for more people to join the team.

My understanding is that doxygen uses a patched version of jquery, so
this replacement isn't correct. I'm not sure what the recommended way
to fix this is though. There's some information here:

Bug#758454: ITA: socnetv -- social network analysis and visualisation application

It took me forever to figure this out, and it was the most ridiculous
error. The error message is quite misleading. I had created
"socnetv.doc-base" without noticing the existing "doc-base". One was
installed, then when dpkg tried to process the second one, it found a
conflict.

A few other points:

- base off your release against the current version in unstable
(0.90-3.1) and acknowledge it according to devref 5.11.4

Done. I also altered my part of the changelog, and closed the bug manually.

- debian/rules: drop commented-out entry for override_dh_compress

Done. Oops.

- debian/changelog: merge the 1.2+dfsg-1 & 1.3+dfsg-1 entries (since the
former never got uploaded to sid)

Done.

- explain to upstream (Dimitris in CC) why we're chopping off their
tarball with respect to non-free pdf, and what they can do about it

CC'd you in separate e-mail.

- fix lintian warning
debian-watch-file-should-dversionmangle-not-uversionmangle
This is an ongoing issue, and the warning is going to be dropped. See
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=748465.

Serafeim

Bug#745342: Status of twine in Debian

You still don't mention why it was rejected. In bug #745347 there was
some discussion about the package name. Was that the reason? What does
hold you from renaming it to python-sphinx-releases or even better first
discussing this on the debian-python list as proposed in the bug.

Looking at what's currently in the archive there does not seem to be a
universal naming scheme for sphinx extensions. The following are
possible names for releases with some precedent:

- python-sphinx-releases
- python-sphinxcontrib-releases
- python-sphinxcontrib.releases

I found the releases repository, but was unable to find the one for
twine. Do you have an URL?

That's fine, if the packages are in a source control repository there is
not much point in uploading to mentors.

thanks for the offer to sponsor the package. Yes I would be interested

Thanks also for the pointer to your previous work on Scoop, I'll take a
look into it and come back with the package, soon.

I request an adopter for the socnetv package.

The package description is:
 SocNetV is a graphical application designed to be an easy tool for Social
 Networks Analysis and Visualisation (not to be confused with social
 networking, as in online communities). With it, one can load and visualise
 networks of various formats (GraphViz, Adjacency, Pajek, etc), and/or visually
 create and modify a network in a point and click fashion.
 .
 The program can also compute network statistics and properties (such as
 distances, centralities, diameter) and apply some layout algorithms for more
 meaningful visualisation of your networks. Furthermore, socnetv can create
 simple random networks (lattice, same degree, etc).

Bug#760188: ITP: scoop -- concurrent parallel programmming library

2014-09-01 Thread Daniel Stender
That's a pointer to another Debian Science package, but anyhow
interesting (exemplarily) :-)

Greetings,
Daniel

On 01.09.2014 22:47, Daniel Stender wrote:

Hi Frederic,

thanks for the offer to sponsor the package. Yes I would be interested
to put into under Debian Science (I've did that already for Python-nltk).

Thanks also for the pointer to your previous work on Scoop, I'll take a
look into it and come back with the package, soon.

Greetings,
Daniel
