Package name: notion
Version: 3-2011102900
Upstream Author: Arnout Engelen
URL: http://notion.sf.net
License: LGPL with addition trademark provisions
Description: Tiling, tabbed window manager for the X window system
Notion divides the screen into tiles and places windows in these tiles
by default. Each tile has a set of tabs for the windows within it.
It also allows windows to be made 'floating' and placed freely. Notion
can be controlled through the keyboard alone or together with a mouse.
 .
Notion can be configured and extended using the Lua language. It also
supports extension modules written in C.

'Notion' is a fork of Ion3, which was previously in Debian but was removed
due to a dead upstream. The Ion license may or may not be DFSG-free, for
now we should probably just put the package in non-free. For details see

So, that's against DFSG #6, but nothing makes it undistributable in
non-free I believe.

It is a software developed by a Spanish GNU/Linux distribution: Guadalinex:

For example, when a user plugs a new scanner device, Hermes show a notification
by "Notification Daemon" and suggest user open scanning program in a link
inside popup message.
Or when a supported camera is conected, Hermes show a popup notification with a
link to install the related Linux Kernel module (usig synaptic util) in order
that camera to can works.
Or when a USB speakers are conected, the notification suggest set them as
default Audio Device by GNOME Sound Preferences, to use them.
And some other functions with other devices.

Hmmm... this only have debian/* ... why not make git repo with upstream
pristine tar. Please consider git-import-dsc/git-import-tar/... style
archive.

I see. Very new packaging indeed.

I can not watch this situation with time I have.
Please ping me when this happens and make sure to update package git
repo so I can use git-buildpackage ...

Including upstream tar source helps identify upstream chages between
packaging.

Hi Pranith,

currently I am working to port apt-build completely to AptPkg module. At
the moment I have implemented mappings (from AptPkg::Package to
AptPkg::Source objects). Now I am looking how to install packages over
Perl modules (and how to track build dependencies). If you are
interested to help, please mail me directly to get involved (then I will
send you a copy of my (heavily unstable) working branch with comments).

Bug#609047: ITP: ccl - Clozure CL (Debian bug #609047)

2012-07-01 Thread Faheem Mitha

Hi Darren,

It seems you are the owner of this ITP against ccl. I was wondering what
the current status is.

It seems from the bug thread that you have a working Debian ccl package
for some recent version of ccl, as of 2011. If you are no longer working
of this, would you considering publishing this packaging, preferably as a
version control repository? Bitbucket (for Git and Mercurial) and GitHub
(for Git) are both popular, though there are of course many other
alternative hosting sites.

I'm interested in getting a ccl package into Debian. However, it doesn't
seem efficient to start from scratch if there is a working version out
there. Building on your work may be preferable.

If anyone else has any information about packaging ccl and/or is willing
to assist with such packaging, even if only in an advisory capacity, let
me know. Please CC me on any reply. Thanks.

 Regards, Faheem

how this works. Anybody here want to comment or sponsor?
It is kind of urgent as the freeze was on 30.6.2012.

Actually, it seems that xmlto can create those internal files. Maybe
this software could compile them to final CHM-file. Therefore I want
