In particular: * The requested move to non-free, meaning it wouldn't have to download pre-build binaries during installation (making the package significantly more reliable to install, and usable as a build-dependency) #502457 * Two new upstream version bugs. And, relatedly: A new developer (Miguel, CCed) has tried to get involved in the maintenance of this packaged, with no response from a maintainer [1] (although nobody said they had contacted you). This discussion included a suggestion to move the package to pkg-nvidia-devel (CCed), which may be interested in co-maintenance, if there were an active maintainer. If there is no response to this bug in, say, 3 months, I'll assume that the package can be orphaned and these interested people may take it over. Bug#657076: Updating and maintaining barry in Debian / Ubuntu

New version available, when you have time: http://sourceforge.net/projects/barry/files/barry/barry-0.18.3/sources/ I left the hardening checks as-is for now, not overriding them, since from the conversation on some of the mailing lists: http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg1024761.html it is a work in progress, and I want to see the warnings. But, that said, I did test with hardening flags, and they were indeed used during the build, even though some of the lintian checks failed at the end. I'm hoping the lintian tests will improve over time. Let me know if you run into problems with this version. Bug#625502: Inquiry re: adopting qt3
I'd like to ask to adopt Qt 3, entirely for the sake of the LSB. The LSB is working on removing Qt 3, but that effort won't be ready in time for wheezy, and I'd like for full LSB support to remain possible in Debian. What are your thoughts? I don't think this would take away from the release goal of ridding Qt 3 dependencies from Debian; it would be good, I think, to release with only LSB depending on Qt 3. I understand it's a C++ package of some complexity, and that I'd be responsible for analyzing security fixes, bugs, etc. on my own without upstream support from TrollTech. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
