Bug#648341: Bug #648341: ITA: abiword -- efficient, featureful word processor

2012-01-16 Thread Dmitry Smirnov
Hi Aron,

Package is all good for final review.

All the issues you brought to my attention are now fixed in the updated package.

The only controversial change I'm a little bit concerned about is dropping
libgoffice
in order to deliver most recent release.

I hope this will be all right with you, otherwise I'll package older version
and we'll wait for libgoffice-0.10 availability.

I think it's a good time for upload since the package update is long overdue.

Please feel free to grab source package:

dget -ux
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/abiword/abiword_2.9.2-1.dsc

Alternatively you can use the temporary git repository:

http://git.debian.org/?p=users/onlyjob-guest/abiword.git

Thank you.

Regards,
Dmitry.

I must confess that I don't know.

From my log:
[Thursday 30 June 2011] [01:39:55] TopicYou set the channel topic
to "DPMT: [python-peak.util python-pipeline] | PAPT: [kabikaboo, pynagram,

http://deb.li/pybugs | http://deb.li/py27 http://bugs.debian.org/622279 |

So I set python-pipeline on the topic on 30 June 2011.

On 27 July 2011 the topic was:

So python-pipeline was removed but I did not get any review from a

Bug#656101: O: stereograph - stereogram generator

2012-01-16 Thread Peter Palfrader
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hey,

I'm letting go of stereograph, a stereogram generator - i.e. the things
you might know from _The Magic Eye_ book that was hip several years
back, pictures that contain a 3-D image if you squit and it just right.

Hasn't had a new upstream release in almost a decade, has a popcon count
of about 130, and a FTBFS bug with a patch in the BTS.

If nobody wants to take it within a month or so I'll probably just ask
for removal from the archive.

Cheers,

Bug#656100: O: fsvs -- Full system versioning with metadata support

2012-01-16 Thread Iain Lane
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hello,

I am orphaning the fsvs package.

The package description is:
FSVS is a backup/restore/versioning/deployment tool for whole directory
trees or filesystems, with a subversion repository as the backend.
It can do overlays of multiple repositories, to achieve some content
separation (base install, local modifications, etc.)

Gunnar Thielebein, CCed, has indicated that he may possibly be
interested in maintaining the package. Gunnar, if this is the case,
please see [0] for how to proceed with adopting.

Maintaining a package requires sufficient time, skill and commitment.
Please make sure you have these before proceeding. :-)

Bug#655618: [SOLVED] Re: [X2go-Dev] x2goagent/nxagent crashes reintroduced :-(

2012-01-16 Thread Mike Gabriel

Hi Reinhard,

I could find the patch that caused us trouble:
http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=nx-libs.git;a=commitdiff;h=1bd66f19cca344557602aa3640b32e747980f8d3

I have released nx-libs 3.5.0.7 (lite and full):
http://code.x2go.org/releases/source/nx-libs

X2Go Debian packages are already available in the nightly builds on
packages.x2go.org, Launchpad builds are still pending.

With the new packages (nx-libs_3.5.0.7-full) the above crash does not

Bug#613210: Status of ITP: replicatorg ?

2012-01-16 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Hi, I was curious how the work was coming on getting replicatorg into
Debian. I'm a bit curious as to why bug 613297 is a blocker; I didn't
think replicatorg used twitter at all.

If you do decide not to continue working on this, could you at least
post what you've done so far?

Jeremy

Hello,

I need some help with the otrs package.
Currently, I am the only maintainer of it.

The package itself is in a good shape, except of bug #511080
What I need:

An enthusiastic maintainer, who is also using otrs, who has got
basic skills in Perl in databases (the best would be to have got a
postgres pro, because I am MySQL'ish).

Further TODO:
- Packaging the upcoming otrs3 package from scratch
- Packaging of popular extensions?
and so on..

I am maintaing the package in svn.

Cheers.

..., hardlink, ...

Some of my coworkers prefer duff over the tools available in Debian,
too. I'm though no more sure why, but it's possible that speed was one
argument, because they ran it over several TB of data. Will check
what exactly was the reason back then.

Was thinking about packaging it myself already, so I may also sponsor
Kamal's package when it's ready.

You just listed the third duplicate (and me no. 4), and still go blind
right on "ohoh, i sponsor it". Why? I hope its conditional on it being
vastly better than any of the others (speed, functionality, ...) and not
just "because".

Contrary to some common believe, Debian is not the dump for NIH, and
even if a little redundancy can't hurt, too much is just waste. Of our

After a quick evaluation of the various "find dupe files" tools, I was
attracted to try duff because:

1. It looked easier to use than the others.
2. This quote from its website[1] was exactly what I was looking for:
"Note that duff itself never modifies any files, but it's designed to
play nice with tools that do." The other dupe cleaner utilities left me
worried that they might trash something important if I got my command
line options wrong or forgot a --dry-run flag.

Thanks Axel, but I'm a DD myself, so won't need a sponsor.

In my humble opinion, that would be an unreasonable pre-condition for
inclusion in Debian. Our standard for inclusion should not be that a
new package must be "vastly better" than other similar packages. That
would deny a new package the opportunity to build a user base and
possibly someday evolve to become the "vastly better" alternative
itself.

Bug#622324: Packaging of JLM harder than expected

2012-01-16 Thread Martin Quinson
Hello,

this is a status report on the packaging of JLM, so that the bug isn't
wrongly detected as dormant.

Things moved forward upstream, and as usual in Java, we added a bunch
of dependencies alongside. The unpackaged dependencies are now:

* twitter4j (ITP #613297): Java implementation of twitter
  Unpackagable because of licensing issues.
But this is an optional dependency that a debian patch could remove
* libsmack (ITP #640873): Easy to use Java XMPP client library
waiting for the next upstream release that will fix a little
  licencing issue before uploading
* JUNG (RFP #368931): Java Universal Network/Graph Framework
That one is problematic: JLM really depends on it and it's not
packaged yed. I don't feel like packaging it myself, it's too large
for me. No idea of how I'll deal with it.
* Apache Http Components (no ITP/RFP yet?)
This one is optional and could probably be cutted out (but it means
that we won't post to either twitter nor identica from Debian)

So, JUNG is the real show stopper here :(

Bye, Mt.

Right, but I'd say it needs to be better and the maintainer needs to
be able to argue how it is better.
