That's no problem at all! It took me not that much time to package it
and unfortunately I noticed the pending tag only afterwards. I will
remove it again from our pkg-perl Repository.

Thanks for your work too Alexander!

Btw, I noticed you have it in git too [1]. If you would like, please
drop

 perl,
 perl (>= 5.10.1) | libtest-simple-perl (>= 0.87)

from Depends. perl is already covered by ${perl:Depends} and perl (>=
5.10.1) | libtest-simple-perl (>= 0.87) should be needed only in the
test-Suite.

Could you furthermore add the Copyright for inc/Module? It is

Files: inc/Module/*
Copyright: 2002-2010, Adam Kennedy
 2002-2010, Audrey Tang
 2002-2010, Brian Ingerson
License: Artistic or GPL-1+

(see [2]).

 [2] http://pkg-perl.alioth.debian.org/copyright.html#module__install

If you agree, please also drop
debian/libmonitoring-availability-perl.docs as this only installs
README file which does not add much information.

Again many thanks :)

Regards
Salvatore

Thanks for your efforts.

I'm unfortunately not much available these days to help reviewing, but
helping on phpunit is on my todo for the quieter times ahead (probably
around end of this months).

And now, I'm a DD, so I could in principle help a bit more than in the
past... if only I get rid of the annoying work backlog.

Best regards,

It is aleady finished and I could bet I uploaded it. It seems my internet
connectivity in the car wasn't as good as I thought :). It should be uploaded
in a few minutes. Sorry if you had wasted work, but I think I tagged it
really early after the bug was filed.

Bug#578787: Fwd: [Open Octave Development] New Anouncement List

2011-10-08 Thread Reinhard Tartler

Hi,

it seems to me we don't even have the package in Debian yet, altough
there is an ITP (#578787), and a git repo:
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-multimedia/oomidi.git

It seems to me that 'oomidi' might not be the best name for the
package. How about renaming it to openoctave?

Just to clarify, Jonas, Adrian, are you still interested and working on
the package? I personally won't have time and hardware to work on it,
but it seems to me that the package is a bit in the limbo since April.

In any case, I think a working package and a watch file is more useful
for pkg-multimedia than subscribing to yet another mailinglist. But YMMV.

Cheers,
Reinhard

Bug#644757: O: ocaml-book -- English book: "Developing applications with Objective Caml"

2011-10-08 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I've just orphaned ocaml-book (shipping binary packages ocaml-book-{en,fr}).
In the last upload I've cleaned up the package and brought it up to recent
packaging practices, as well as acknowledged a recent NMU (thanks Jakub Wilk!).

Maintenance cost of the package is essentially zero.

It should probably be adopted by the Debian OCaml team (Cc:-ed). The only
reason why it wasn't maintained by them yet is that the package actually
predated widespread team maintenance of OCaml-related packages.

The main pending task is to convert it to a non-native Debian package, creating
a fake/joint upstream tarball for the two books.

Cheers.

The package descriptions are:

HTML version of the French book: "Developpement d'applications
avec Objective Caml" published by O'Reilly.
 .
This package contains the HTML version of the book.

This is the English translation of the O'Reilly's OCaml French
book "Developpement d'applications avec Objective Caml" that can
be found in the ocaml-book-fr package.
 .
This package contains both the HTML and PDF version of the book.

2011-10-08 Thread Bastien ROUCARIES
Does it build with graphickmagick instead of imagemagick?

If so could you switch to graphickmagick

Thanks

Bastien

text. All operations can be accomplished in a simple and practical way
without knowledge of shell-based backends.

Description: Rodent is fast, small and powerful file manager.

Rodent is fast, small and powerful file manager for the GNU operating system
(but it also works in BSD). That's one way to look at it. Another way is to
call it a graphic shell (that's probably more accurate).

* Rodent wastes no space on menus or function buttons (display real estate
is too valuable).
* All functionality is available through popup menu or keyboard action.
* Popup menu is context sensitive.
* Full lpterminal is available from keyboard.
* Functionality is extendible via plugin tecnology.

Bug#644789: ITP: UHD - Universal Hardware Driver for Universal Software Radio Peripherals

2011-10-08 Thread A. Maitland Bottoms
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "A. Maitland Bottoms"

* Package name: uhd-host
  Version : 3.2.4
Upstream Author : Ettus Research LLC
* URL :
  http://code.ettus.com/redmine/ettus/projects/uhd/wiki
* License : GPLv3
  Programming Lang: C, Python
Description : UHD - Universal Hardware Driver for Universal Software
Radio Peripherals

For those who remember the usrper application and libusrp* packages,
those days are behind us. The UHD library handles both the USB
attached USRP1 and ethernet connected USRP2 devices, and newer
devices. It replaces the old libusrp1* and libusrp2* stuff.

The good news is that the new firmware for the network attached
devices actually does UDP/IP - rather than the raw ethernet protocol
used by the libusrp2* drivers. Part of what makes that possible is
that the FPGA uses a DFSG free BSD style license for an embedded ZPU
processor. So here we have free software drivers communicating via
TCP/UDP to free hardware which is running embedded free software
compiled by a free modification to the free GNU Compiler Collection.

The bad news is that the older USB connected boards made use of FX2
USB hardware, and programming of that hardware requires the non-free
part of the sdcc compiler. In addition, actually instantiating a free
ZPU processor on a FPGA requires proprietary tools from the FPGA
manufacturer. Even the USRP1 source is closely tied to the proprietary
Altera tools. So the end result is that the generated firmware, even
though it comes from freely available and even DFSG free source code,
ends up being in Debian's contrib repository instead of main.

The ugly news is that firmware developer's "preferred form of the work
for making modifications to it" often includes proprietary
vendor-specific sections. Only natural, considering that the resulting
firmware will be used by that vendor's hardware. So here we have a
source package that defines a device/driver interface that is, on the
whole, free software. However, parts of the source are constrained by
the available proprietary vendor tools. So while modification is
allowed to support similar hardware with other vendors, some portions
of the source code are not useful for that task.

The UHD packages cover the same issues as the previous GNU Radio
packages. Perhaps one reason for the similarity is that so many of the
same people are involved in the development of both packages.

The Road ahead might include UHD driver support for openHPSDR project
hardware. This would be a milestone, and would demonstrate the
convergence of the GNU project GPL licensed gnuradio software and the
TAPR OHL (Open Hardware License) hardware pioneered by TAPR and the
openHPSDR project.

-Maitland
