Bug#642586: ITP: mmtk -- The molecular modeling toolkit

2011-09-24 Thread Picca Frédéric-Emmanuel
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Picca Frédéric-Emmanuel"

Dear Maintainer,

* Package name: mmtk
  Version : 2.7.5
  Upstream Author : Konrad Hinsen
* URL : http://dirac.cnrs-orleans.fr/MMTK/
* License : CeCILL-C
  Programming Lang: C, Python
  Description : The molecular modeling toolkit

 The Molecular Modeling Toolkit (MMTK) is a library for molecular
 simulation applications. It provides the most common methods in
 molecular simulations (molecular dynamics, energy minimization,
 normal mode analysis) and several force fields used for biomolecules
 (Amber 94, Amber 99, several elastic network models). MMTK also
 serves as a code basis that can be easily extended and modified to
 deal with non-standard situations in molecular simulations.

It's already in sid: http://packages.debian.org/sid/theunarchiver

Please check the available packages before filing RFPs.

(Also, it would help if the subject didn't contain the full long

  Description : data structures for "relational" or "labeled" data

 pandas is a Python package providing fast, flexible, and expressive
 data structures designed to make working with "relational" or
 "labeled" data both easy and intuitive. It aims to be the fundamental
 high-level building block for doing practical, real world data
 analysis in Python. pandas is well suited for many different kinds of
 data:
 .
  - Tabular data with heterogeneously-typed columns, as in an SQL
table or Excel spreadsheet
  - Ordered and unordered (not necessarily fixed-frequency) time
series data.
  - Arbitrary matrix data (homogeneously typed or heterogeneous) with
row and column labels
  - Any other form of observational / statistical data sets. The data
actually need not be labeled at all to be placed into a pandas
data structure

Bug#612229: maradns2

reassign 612229 maradns

thanks

I have 2.0 branch with maradns-deadwood in preparation and I plan to
release to experimental. It seems that deadwood will require a different
file from maradns and zoneserver. This will make #636158
critical to further development. I will release a similar contraption
unstable based upon the 1.4.x code base to keep the two streams in as
close a sync as possible.

Bug#642638: RFP: gnu-lightning -- generates assembly language code at run-time

2011-09-24 Thread Jeronimo Pellegrini
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: gnu-lightning
  Version : 1.2
  Upstream Author : Paolo Bonzini
* URL : http://www.gnu.org/s/lightning/
* License : GPL v2
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : generates assembly language code at run-time

GNU lightning is a library that generates assembly language code at
run-time; it is very fast, making it ideal for Just-In-Time
compilers, and it abstracts over the target CPU, as it exposes to
the clients a standardized RISC instruction set inspired by the
MIPS and SPARC chips.

GNU lightning is usable in complex code generation tasks. The
available backends cover the x86, SPARC and PowerPC architectures.

Bug#642677: ITP: python-repoze.sendmail -- mail sending library with transactions

2011-09-24 Thread Matthias Kümmerer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Matthias Kümmerer"

* Package name: python-repoze.sendmail
  Version : 2.3
  Upstream Author : Chris Rossi
* URL : http://www.repoze.org
* License : ZPL-2.1
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : mail sending library with transactions

 repoze.sendmail allows coupling the sending of email messages with a
 transaction, using the Zope transaction manager. This allows messages to only
 be sent out when and if a transaction is committed, preventing users from
 receiving notifications about events which may not have completed successfully.
 Messages may be sent directly or stored in a queue for later sending. The
 queued mail approach is the more common and recommended path. A console
 application which can flush the queue, sending the messages that it finds, is
 included for convenience.
 .
 repoze.sendmail is a fork of zope.sendmail. Functionality that was specific to
 running in a Zope context has been removed, making this version more generally
 useful to users of other frameworks.

This is a dependency of pyramid_mailer, which I intend to package also.

Bug#642694: ITP: python-pyramid-mailer -- mail sending library for Pyramid

2011-09-24 Thread Matthias Kümmerer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Matthias Kümmerer"

* Package name: python-pyramid-mailer
  Version : 0.4.1
  Upstream Author : Dan Jacob
* URL : https://pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid_mailer/dev/
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : mail sending library for Pyramid

pyramid_mailer is a package for the Pyramid framework to take the pain
out of sending emails. It has the following features:

 * A wrapper around the low-level email functionality of standard Python.
   This includes handling multipart emails with both text and HTML content,
   and file attachments.
 * The option of directly sending an email or adding it to the queue
   in your maildir.
 * Wrapping email sending in the transaction manager. If you have a view
   that sends a customer an email for example, and there is an error in
   that view (for example, a database error) then this ensures that
   the email is not sent.
 * A DummyMailer class to help with writing unit tests, or other situations
   where you want to avoid emails being sent accidentally from a
   non-production install.

Uhm. Nothing, really. Maybe I just forgot about it :)

If you want to take it over, please go ahead.
Otherwise, I'll find some time tomorrow to update my local packaging repo to
2.0beta, and upload it :)

Kindly,
David

I've been speaking with Ninja-ide's upstream, and I'd be interested in
packaging it for Debian. What happened with the package back in Feb?

Bug#613980: Re Ninja-IDE

2011-09-24 Thread David Paleino
Hello Marga,
I checked my inbox, and ninja-ide was REJECTed from NEW in April, because of
missing copyright information in d/copyright.

Tonight I managed to update my local packaging repo -- I pushed everything on
collab-maint/ninja-ide.git. I just uploaded it to NEW, I hope it will pass
through -- I've been more careful this time, as I stripped embedded js
libraries, fonts and whatever did not have a license.

Have a nice evening,
David

Version 3.00 seems to include the needed functionality too and is
included in perl 5.14 in experimental (in perl-modules package).

> I was able to build a deb with cpan2deb and test installed it on

I wonder if it is worth the hassle to introduce a newer
libterm-ansicolor-perl package and drop it a couple of months later[0],
when 5.14 enters unstable.

[0] a pure speculation on my side

3.01 (in perl 5.15.2) seems to additionally contain some fixes, that
seem like a good thing to have[1].

Perl maintainers, what would you recommend?
