I am using it, from upstream's repository. Since they provide packages
already, I'm not too fussed about it being in Debian proper, although it'd
be less likely to have random dependency breakages if it were. So you can
close this bug if you want, but I would appreciate you contacting upstream
about what's stopping it being in Debian.

SOGo should be able to be used by any compliant CalDAV client. I believe the
extensions are mainly to provide GroupDAV addressbook support and automatic
configuration, and are not essential - I don't use them.

So if it is packaged for Debian you'd be a regular user of the official
(i.e., Debian) packages, right?

> So you can close this bug if you want, but I would appreciate you

No, the bug should not be closed. These issues are more or less trivial
to resolve. I was even considering retitling it to ITP, but some things
are worrying me, namely:

  * SOPE and SOGo are huge. I mean, HUGE. It would take me weeks
to examine the code and figure out how these things work, at
least at the basic level.
  * I am not a fan of web-based mail and calendars, and I don't plan
using such services. If I package this, I'll run a test
instance on some of my machines, but since it would be solely
for testing purposes, I'm afraid I won't be able to discover all
issues, or even manage to reproduce reported bugs. Proper
maintenance involves regular real-life usage...
  * I am not a user of Icedove/Iceowl, and I don't plan becoming
one. As I see from upstream's site, these clients connect with
SOGo via special extensions, which need to be packaged, too. I
don't have the right skills for that.
  * The code has a high potential for security bugs, and a
significantly higher maintenance burden because of that.

So... I think I'll attempt to package this, and see if it would be
worth taking the risk. (This will happen after the Squeeze release in
any case.) Meanwhile, if someone else is willing to bite the bullet, go
ahead.

I'm pretty sure I have a version of this driver installed on my
Mother's ubuntu-based computer. I do not remember where I got it, but
I do recall that it works perfectly and I didn't even have to do any
xorg.conf acrobatics, it just works. What I am saying is that I'm sure
someone already packaged it.

Bug#595817: ITP: libpam-ssh-agent -- PAM module providing authentication via ssh-agent

2010-09-10 Thread Craig Box
> How is it different from libpam-ssh?

libpam-ssh lets you log into a local console (terminal, GDM, etc) with
an SSH passphrase that unlocks your local private key. It then starts
an SSH agent and adds your key to it.

libpam-ssh-agent allows you to SSH to a machine with agent forwarding,
and use the agent to authorise PAM transactions, most notably sudo.
The upshot of this is that I can go:

  machine1:~$ ssh -A machine2
  machine2:~$ sudo su -
  machine2:/ #

I am not prompted for a password to sudo, because libpam-ssh-agent
authorises me against my forwarded agent. If I do not have agent
forwarding, PAM will follow its usual chain of methods for asking for
a credential, generally asking for a password:

  machine1:~$ ssh machine2
  machine2:~$ sudo su -
  Password:

> How will it interact with ssh-agent which starts from Xsession.d/?

If you start your own SSH agent, and add your private key, a standard
configuration would be to use this PAM module to allow you to sudo
with your agent (no password), the same way you could then SSH to
other servers with your agent (no password).

Bug#578157: ITP: bitcoin -- peer-to-peer network based anonymous digital currency

Now I understand your question. Yes, indeed it seems that Bitcoin can't
work with WxWidget 2.8 (which is what I tried so far), but requires
WxWidget 2.9 not yet available in Debian.

WxWidget is huge. I have my hands full with other projects - but perhaps
an interesting challenge for the WxWidgets team: Upstream seems to
encourage relying on it, stating on the front page of the project that
"in spite of being called a development release, we believe that 2.9.1
can be used in production environment".

Perhaps package it but release only for experimental for now?

Cc'ing the WxWidgets team.

Bug#561963: ITP: hudson -- extensible continuous integration server

2010-09-10 Thread James Page
Hi Tim

Has there been any further progress on working towards packaging Hudson
for Debian?

I've been looking into this as part of my work with the Ubuntu Server
Team and have some thoughts on packaging approach which I would like to
discuss/contribute.

I've also reviewed the dependency list against the Ubuntu archive and it
looks like it could be quite a bit of work to get Hudson building from
source - it would be good to hookup and discuss in more detail.

Regards

I have been unable to maintain this package for some time so I should
not delay its orphaning any longer. It is lintian-clean but it has
some old bugs that need a fix.

This is a four-binary package:

aspell-bg -- Bulgarian dictionary for aspell
myspell-bg -- The Bulgarian dictionary for myspell
ibulgarian -- The Bulgarian dictionary for ispell
wbulgarian -- The Bulgarian dictionary words for /usr/share/dict

The upstream (bgoffice.sf.net) provides new restructured package and I
think it is better to use the current Debian package used only as a
reference while packaging the new upstream from scratch.

   * convert bg_BG.{dic,aff} to UTF-8.
Finally closes: #306895 and LP#346856 -- wrong charset in myspell-bg
The problem with 'microsoft-cp1251' is that only OpenOffice.org understands
it. Everything else needs 'cp1251' or 'windows-1251', neither of which is
understood by OO.o. Luckily UTF-8 is OK for everyone.
   * Adopt the package (Closes: #433311)

Bug#596370: ITP: drupal6-mod-tagadelic -- tagadelic module for Drupal 6

2010-09-10 Thread Al Nikolov
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Al Nikolov

* Package name: drupal6-mod-tagadelic
  Version : 1.2
Upstream Author : Bèr Kessels (http://drupal.org/user/2663)
* URL : http://drupal.org/project/tagadelic
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: PHP
Description : tagadelic module for Drupal 6

Tagadelic is a small module, without any databases, or configuration,
that generates a page with weighted tags. The cool thing is that by
merely altering font sizes, these lists suddenly gain a dimension.

Bug#579859: RFP: clementine -- Music player and library organizer

2010-09-10 Thread Thomas PIERSON
Hi,

Some news from Clementine packaging.

In agreement with Clementine devel team, I plan to publish a first Debian
package based on next versions 0.5.x .

For the moment, I just build an first experimental package but I must fix some
mistakes before sharing my work. When I have a better result, I will show it
here and I will ask help to test or fix it.

Regards,
Thomas PIERSON

Bug#596413: O: pngwriter -- easy to use graphics library

2010-09-10 Thread René Mayorga
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current maintainer of pngwriter, Víctor Pérez Pereira
, and co-maint Miguel Gea
is apparently not active anymore. Therefore, I orphan this package now.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Priority: optional
Section: libs
Source: pngwriter
Version: 0.5.3-3
Description: easy to use graphics library (runtime)
PNGwriter is a very easy to use open source graphics library that uses
PNG as its output format. The interface has been designed to be as simple
and intuitive as possible. It supports plotting and reading in the RGB
(red, green, blue), HSV (hue, saturation, value/brightness) and CMYK
(cyan, magenta, yellow, black) colour spaces, basic shapes, scaling, bilinear
interpolation, full TrueType antialiased and rotated text support, bezier
curves, opening existing PNG images and more. Documentation in English and
Spanish. Runs under Linux, Unix, Mac OS X and Windows.
 .
In this package you can find the shared library, necessary for execution
 environments using pngwriter.

Well, you can try to find a sponsor using debian-mentors[0].

Posting a link to your new package on this bug report can help as well.
