Hi

I hereby orphan the php-elisp package. I have not had enough time
to maintain it well and think other people may be interested in it.
A new upstream version fix a few things so that is likely the first
thing to do for a new prosper developer.

Best regards,

I find the systemd-scheme very intriguing. Make sure you post to the ITP
when you have the first testable packages (even if they are only in some
VCS), I’ll subscribe to the bug and test them if I can.

autojump provides is a faster way to navigate your filesystem, with a
"cd command that learns".

It works by maintaining a database of the directories you use the most from
the command line, and allows you to "jump" to frequently used directories by
typing only a small pattern.

Package: wnpp

Description: The Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide
An in-depth exploration of the art of shell scripting.
 .
This tutorial assumes no previous knowledge of scripting or
programming, but progresses rapidly toward an intermediate/advanced
level of instruction ... all the while sneaking in little snippets
of UNIX(R) wisdom and lore. It serves as a textbook, a manual for
self-study, and a reference and source of knowledge on shell
scripting techniques. The exercises and heavily-commented examples
invite active reader participation, under the premise that the only
way to really learn scripting is to write scripts.
 .
This book is suitable for classroom use as a general introduction to
 programming concepts.

Current version is 6.2.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the comixcursors package, as I don't use the nice
comixcursors anymore. The oxygencursors are even nicer.
Note that it has a license related rc bug, that I haven't really looked
at at all.
Beside that, the package is really nice and working, fully integrated
with update-alternatives for cursors and such. There is not much
upstream activity, as they are more or less "done"

The package description is:
Package comes with 32 different mouse themes for X11.
5 colors (black, blue, green, orange and white)
3 different sizes (small, regular and large)
2 different weights (slim and normal)
 .
and one custom and one called ghost.

If "newcomers" want it, I might be tricked into sponsoring it.

/Sune

   * debian/copyright:
 + Format per draft DEP-5 machine-parseable format.
 + Update copyright information.

Description : backport of the enhanced unittest testing framework in
Python 2.7

unittest2 is an enhanced version of unittest including a standard
test runner (automatic test discovery), class and module level
fixtures (``setUpClass`` / ``setUpModule`` etc), many powerful
new assert methods, better resource management with
``addCleanups`` and a host of other new features. These new
features are *all* going into the Python version of unittest in
Python 2.7 and Python 3.2. The point of unittest2 is that it
works with Python 2.4 - 2.6; you can use it now.

The point isn't whether they charge you money; the point is that it's not
free as in freedom. It doesn't meet the Debian Free Software Guidelines, so
it'd have to go into the non-free repository, but from the looks of it
Debian couldn't legally distribute it even then.

However, seeing that the vendor provides Ubuntu packages, it shouldn't be
too hard to persuade them to repackage it for Debian as well; the required
changes are probably minimal.

Bug#580904: ITP: jigdofuse -- A FUSE based fs providing images offered by jigdo files

2010-05-09 Thread Mateusz Poszwa
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mateusz Poszwa
Owner: Mateusz Poszwa

* Package name: jigdofuse
  Version : 0.5
  Upstream Author : Mateusz Poszwa
* URL : http://old.pl.pl/src/c/JigdoFUSE/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : A FUSE based fs providing images offered by jigdo files

JigdoFUSE is a virtual filesystem which is populated with images
offered by jigdo files. When an image is read JigdoFUSE generates
its contents based on jigdo files (jigdo and template)
and a set of parts. When a part is not found under path from
jigdo file, it fills space normally occupied by the part with zeros,
so most p2p programs recognise the part as missing.

The aim of JigdoFUSE is to provide a way of mirroring ISO images
atop a packages mirror without the need of actually storing them.
Instead of 680MB ISO image a 20MB template is stored.
Disk space usage is much lower, but comes at cost of CPU time
and some RAM space.

I have already packaged it, but lintian still reports errors
(I need to write a manpage) and I need a sponsor to upload it.
The project is still immature and not properly tested
(I use it and it works stable, but suffers from a race condition
in FUSE when readahead-collect is active).

The concept of "brain and image mapping" seems to be gone, I don't know
how important it is.

At the risk of being picky... ITK is quite technical. GUI might be more
explicit.

  * common features - the framework must implement the most common
  features: selectors like roulette wheel,
  tournament, ranking, uniform. Scaling schemes
  such as linear scaling, etc.

Bug#574789: ppp progress tracked on the mailing list and ITP

2010-05-09 Thread The Anarcat
So I'm really puzzled about what to do with PPP at this point. It's part
of the unofficial freebsd-hackedutils, which I didn't know when I
started working on an official package for it (ITP #574789, in CC).

I have a mostly working package for freebsd-ppp at this point. I'm just
a bit of polishing and for the package to actually be uploaded
somewhere. I would think it wiser and simpler to have a separate package
for this than have it merged into the big "freebsd-utils" slump, but I
may be wrong...

At any rate, I think PPP progress should be tracked in the ITP instead
of here (#577494). If we don't want a separate package, that ITP should
be closed with explanations, if we do, I would very much welcome help
and feedback, especially to get that darn PPPoE working. :)

I'm tracking the status of that last bit through the mailing list:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-bsd/2010/05/msg00011.html

... but that shouldn't keep the package from being uploaded. I will not,
however, be likely to maintain the package if the PPPoE issues aren't
resolved, as I do not use plain old PPP at all right now.

Thanks for the help,

A.

Bug#574789: tentative package available, review appreciated

2010-05-09 Thread The Anarcat
I have uploaded a package for freebsd-ppp in my personnal repo:

http://anarcat.ath.cx/debian/

It's particularly messy in that repo, just look at the freebsd-* files.
(For some reason, Koumbit's reprepro installation refuses my packages
with "No distribution accepting 'freebsd-ppp_8.0-1_kfreebsd-i386.changes'!"
even though I added the architecture to conf/distributions.)

I think it's mostly ready for upload, although it doesn't have all the
features the ppp bundled in freebsd-hackedutils has, since the latter
includes many custom libraries that I can't really ship here.

BUG: plasma-widget-yawp

2010-05-09 Thread Jimmy Johnson
Hello, here's the deal, if you upgrade Lenny to Squeeze or Sid, 'yawp'
will not work, it will not connect to weather servers at all, it just
will not work, this can be reproduced on any Lenny upgrade and will be a
big problem when Squeeze goes final and people start to migrate from
Lenny to Squeeze. I've known of this problem for along time, no one
else seems to have noticed, maybe they all do clean installs. I have
reproduced this many times and 'yawp' always fails to work.

Thanks,
