Bug#576327: RFH: flite -- A small run-time speech synthesis engine

2010-04-03 Thread Denis Briand
Package: wnpp

Hello,

I haven't enought time to co-maintain this package correctly, so I
remove me from the uploaders list.
To help accessibility team in this job, please answer to this RFH and
contact accessibility team .

Flite is a small fast run-time speech synthesis engine. It is the
latest addition to the suite of free software synthesis tools including
University of Edinburgh's
Festival Speech Synthesis System and Carnegie Mellon University's
FestVox project, tools, scripts and documentation for building synthetic
voices. However, flite
itself does not require either of these systems to run.

A new version 1.4-release-1 is ready for upload from mentors repository:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/flite/flite_1.4-release-1.dsc
and It will be available soon on Sid.

thank you very much

regards

Denis Briand

Bug#576262: ITP: django-countries -- Provides fixtures, models and flags for countries by ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code

2010-04-03 Thread Fladischer Michael
Hi,

I prepared an upload to mentors.d.n which includes a patch to integrate
django-countries with iso-codes. Thanks for all the great feedback!

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/django-countries/django-countries_1.0.2-1.dsc

Paul Wise, 2010-04-02 12:11:
> I suppose so, unless there are some differences. IIRC iso-codes includes

> translations to the country names.

The translations from iso-codes are now used automatically according to
the Django locale settings. I think that's really a great benefit for
everyone who is going to use this package.

> Runtime loading of the iso-codes stuff would be better than
> build-depends though.

The internal country list is now populated at runtime by parsing
iso_3166.xml with xml.dom.minidom and it provides the three originally
static lists/dicts.

>> As for the icons I'll take a look on how to use them (and possibly the
>> PNG variant too) directly from the famfamfam-flag-* package.
>
> Great, please do push the removal & dependency upstream too.

I notified upstream about my changes but I'm not sure if they will be
included because they heavily depend on the availability of Debian
packages. My changes will not be useful for people using it on Windows,
Solaris, ...

As I consider myself a poor writer of documentation someone should
eventually take a look at my README.Debian to assure that it's readable
and understandable for the average user. There's lots of room for
improvements I guess.

Kind regards,
Michael

Just got back from holiday, will hopefully get a chance to take care

Bug#573345: radare2 package

I had a look at the package, but this "Format 3.0 (quilt)" gives me
headaches:

$ gbp-clone git://git.debian.org/collab-maint/radare.git
$ cd radare
$ git-buildpackage -S

seems to work. however, now the working copy is dirty (check git status)
and a file debian/patches/debian-changes-0.4-1 is created with this as
comment:

,
| Description: Upstream changes introduced in version 0.4-1
| This patch has been created by dpkg-source during the package build.
| Here's the last changelog entry, hopefully it gives details on why
| those changes were made:
| .
| radare2 (0.4-1) unstable; urgency=low

|* Initial release (Closes: #573345)
| + build system patch to add version to the libs

| .
| The person named in the Author field signed this changelog entry.
| Author: Sebastian Reichel
| Bug-Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/573345

This also appears in debian.tar.gz. I cannot imagine this is really
intended. Please clarify.

TBH, I don't think "Format 3.0 (quilt)" works nicely with
git-buildpackage. How about using "Format 3.0 (native)" instead?

Description: Perl module used to temporarily override subroutines
This is the CPAN module Sub::Override.
 .
Perl programmers sometimes have a need to override subroutines,
particularly for testing purposes. Sub::Override provides a simple
way to override subroutines instead of using heavier-weight methods
 such as Mock Objects.

Libratbox is the portable runtime used by ircd-ratbox and
ircd-charybdis. It features an abstractable design allowing for
SSL support and high performance I/O.
 .
In Debian, SSL support is provided by GNUTLS and should be considered
 experimental at the moment.

Support may be added to allow for local users to rebuild using OpenSSL
if desired instead of GNUTLS. This is still being considered; the official
Debian version will always use GNUTLS.

Coin,

This ITP is obsolete, as ircd-ratbox is packaged since a while in
Debian. If you still need the library to be packaged separately, then
open a bug report on the ircd-ratbox package.

Denis V. Sirotkin, the maintainer of polipo, has not been active in Debian
for nearly two years. I am therefore orphaning polipo now.

Polipo recently had some security issues that need to be fixed. As a network
daemon it needs an active maintainer. Polipo has recently been taken over by a
new upstream, who seems quite responsive. I don't know when he plans to make a
new release, though.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Personally, I have some interest in polipo and could help a new maintainer, as
sponsor or possibly as co-maintainer (but the new maintainer should be prepared
to do the larger part of the work).

Bug#576366: RFP: archie -- A prospero client for the archie service

2010-04-03 Thread markhobley
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: archie
  Version : 1.4.1
Upstream Author : Clifford Neuman (b...@isi.edu)
* URL : ftp://markhobley.yi.org/upstream/archie/

The archie client is a tool for indexing FTP archives, allowing people to find
specific files.

This package is free for non-commercial use under Prospero licences, so
currently needs to be packaged in nonfree. However, it may be worth contacting
the author to see if this could be relicenced for inclusion in Debian proper.

Mark.

Bug#575877: RFP: libspring-3.0-java -- modular Java/J2EE application framework

2010-04-03 Thread Miguel Landaeta
Hi Damien,

Do you have any ETA with this package?

I ask because this is not a trivial package and this should have
many Build-Deps not available in Debian (or at least, it looked that
way last time I checked).

Do you have a list with what is needed to be packaged?
I would like to collaborate if needed.

Cheers,

Bug#562980: I have working scripts that build iFolder on Ubuntu 9.10 and Simias on Ubuntu 9.04

2010-04-03 Thread Sanjaya Yogi
I have working scripts that build iFolder on Ubuntu 9.10 and Simias on
Ubuntu 9.04.

They might be useful for Debian by modifying the dependencies a little. I
use Debian a bit and would love to help. Anybody interested check them out
and email me sanjaya dot yogi at gmail dot com

And join this group: you need an invite - it is only to keep the spammers

I am also interested in getting iFolder compiling on Debian ARM and Ubuntu
for ARM

Hope they help. Let me know.
