Hello Sandro,

thanks for your answer. You are of course right with regard to the
easily fixable things.

I suppose I should subscribe to the PTS then and deal with any breakage
the upload may introduce, right?

If I'll ask for an RFS, I want to fix this first. Should not be too
difficult and would give me some packaging training.

Regardless of whether I do that or not, I have just asked to be added to
the collab-maint group so that I can put my Git repository there (don't
want to use my home directory on Alioth for that package).

Regards,
Sven

that's highly welcome, but it's not a strict requirement

yes, but I didn't look at the package so I don't know if it's really
something to fix (for example, if it's all documentation, then yes a
-doc package is highly encouraged).

In case of doubts/questions/anythin, debian-mentors is the right place to ask.

Note that QA uploads don't need to be "that difficult" to do, so also
a git repo could be overkilling: probably the next uploaders won't use
the collab-qa repository (because they don't like git, don't want to
deal with a SCM, etc).

Indeed, most of it is documentation:

,
| % du -s /usr/share/doc/ne /usr/share/info/ne* /usr/share/ne
| 2052/usr/share/doc/ne
| 60 /usr/share/info/ne.info.gz
| 316 /usr/share/ne
`

My plan would be to split the documentation out into ne-doc, but leave
the runtime files under /usr/share/ne in the main package for now,
although they could be moved to an ne-data package as well. What is
your opinion?

I'll take that into consideration.

if they are absolutely needed to ne to work, you can leave there; but
anyhow, for 300k I won't bother that much to split a package.

Bug#547804: RFH: stfl -- structured terminal forms language/library

2009-09-22 Thread Nico Golde
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request assistance with maintaining the stfl package.

The package description is:
stfl is a library which implements a curses-based widget set for text
 terminals.
 .
This package contains the development files required to
 build software that uses libstfl.

I currently lack of time and interest to properly maintain the package but
I don't want to orphan it yet. Therefore I am searching for a new co-maintainer
for this package. The biggest todo would be to package the new upstream release.

Kind regards
Nico

Package: wnpp

I'm looking for an adopter of the sleuthkit package. The package is
(currently) bug-free and has an active upstream developer. sleuthkit
is written in C, the packaging consists of fife binary packages and
includes libraries.

Homepage: http://www.sleuthkit.org/sleuthkit/

The Sleuth Kit (previously known as TASK) is a collection of UNIX-based
command line file system and media management forensic analysis tools.
The file system tools allow you to examine file systems of a suspect
computer in a non-intrusive fashion. Because the tools do not rely on
the operating system to process the file systems, deleted and hidden
 content is shown.

The media management tools allow you to examine the layout of disks and
other media. The Sleuth Kit supports DOS partitions, BSD partitions
(disk labels), Mac partitions, and Sun slices (Volume Table of
Contents). With these tools, you can identify where partitions are
located and extract them so that they can be analyzed with file system
 analysis tools.

When performing a complete analysis of a system, we all know that
command line tools can become tedious. The Autopsy Forensic Browser is
a graphical interface to the tools in The Sleuth Kit, which allows you
to more easily conduct an investigation. Autopsy provides case
management, image integrity, keyword searching, and other automated
 operations.

Bug#535691: ,RFH: munin -- help packaging 1.3 to experimental and report bugs upstream

2009-09-22 Thread Tom Feiner
Hi Holger,

Was the patch prepared by Niels ever applied? From what I can see in svn it
hasn't been applied yet.

Can we prepare the svn location for packaging munin 1.3? (I'm guessing it'll
be /branches/debian/experimental, but there is currently code there to package
1.3.3.

Whats the best way to approach this? I guess now's the time to work on this,
as we now have a time frame to get the uncommitted patches into trunk, thus
reducing the number of patches we need to maintain.

Thanks,
Tom Feiner

Bug#136535: IDE for LilyPond

2009-09-22 Thread Carlo Stemberger
JEdit isn't a simple editor: it can become an IDE (the best, at the
moment) for GNU LilyPond[1], using the LilyPondTool[2] extension.

Bug#547982: O: gtml -- An HTML pre-processor

2009-09-22 Thread Adam Majer
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the gtml package as I don't use it anymore.

The package description is:
GTML is an HTML pre-processor which adds some extra features
specially designed for maintaining multiple web pages.
HTML files generated by GTML are just like any other HTML files.
Because GTML does not attempt to interpret your HTML commands in
any way, it's fully compatible with all version of HTML, and
does not require any specific browser or server.

Bug#547981: O: ptop

2009-09-22 Thread Adam Majer
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

This software had potential but it never really materialized. It
does not deal with remote servers, and as such is it not much more
useful than using regular top.

I don't use ptop anymore. If anyone wants to maintain it, please
take it.

Description: PostgreSQL performance monitoring tool akin to top
pg_top is a console-based tool for monitoring a PostgreSQL database.
 .
 With pg_top you can:
   * View currently running SQL statement of a process
   * View query plan of a currently running SELECT statement
   * View locks held by a process
   * View user table statistics
   * View user index statistics

2009-09-22 Thread Brian Sutherland

I do not have the ability to easily test changes to smart-notifier
anymore and thus cannot fix bugs. But I see that it's growing in
popularity and home someone else is up to the job.

It may make sense to package upstream trunk as 1.4~dev-, I
guess that's going to be far closer to 1.4 than what the 1.3 branch is
for the moment.

On the other hand, it may not work at all...

to be honest, I have no idea... :-/

that branch is the right one, just remove the existing stuff there, if you
think that's right! :-)

I fully agree.
