Bug#545791: ITP: ncap -- Network Capture Library and Tools

2009-09-09 Thread Ondřej Surý
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Ondřej Surý"

* Package name: ncap
  Version : 1.8.1
  Upstream Author : Internet Systems Consortium
* URL : https://www.dns-oarc.net/tools/ncap
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C, Python
  Description : Network Capture Library and Tools

 ncap is a network capture utility like libpcap (on which it is based)
 and tcpdump. It produces binary data in ncap(3) format, either on
 standard output (by default) or in successive dump files. This
 utility is similar to tcpdump(1), but performs IP reassembly and
 generates framing-independent portable output. ncap is expected to be
 used for gathering continuous research or audit traces.

Bug#530748: ITP: uzbl -- A keyboard controlled browser based on Webkit

2009-09-09 Thread Luca Bruno
As the report was quite stagnating for months, I took the occasion to
put up a git repo under alioth collab-maint[0]. Can you/we please
converge on that?

As I don't know which workflow you prefer, I just pushed pristine-tar
and bare-bone upstream sources.

If you want, I'm open to co-maintainership or just plain sponsorship
(if lamby isn't already on that); just let me aware of how it
proceeds ;)

Cheers, Luca

Bug#545798: ITA: windowlab -- Small and simple Amiga-like window manager

2009-09-09 Thread Mats Erik Andersson
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I am willing to maintain the package "windowlab".
At present it is orphaned, and has furthermore been
removed (#410618) as of July 27th 2009. The bug itself
has been archived.

I myself has repackaged WindowLab at mentors.debian.org,
and have also filed an RFS request on that revised package.

The package description is:
 WindowLab is a Window Manager for the X Window System. Features include
 click-to-focus, a simple menu/taskbar combination and integration with
 Debian menu system. WindowLab is incredibly fast and small.

Description: TextTrainer is a program which helps you memorise poems or plain
texts in your native or in some foreign language. You learn by repeatedly
reading the text, while after each run more (and different) words are being
hidden (i.e. replaced by "_"). This will teach you a poem, parts of your text
for a play, or basic phrases of a foreign language before you go on holiday.
Different learning curves may be selected, and for foreign language texts there
is an automatic grammar correction. Data files for TextTrainer can contain the
plain text, as well as translations and pronounciation guides. Data files can
be created with TextTrainer itself, or with any standard text editor.

Bug#545845: RFP: poptray minus -- tray pop3 information tool

2009-09-09 Thread altamira

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: poptray-minus
  Version : 0.9
  Upstream Author : le...@server-pro.com
* URL : http://server-pro.com/poptrayminus/
* License :
  Programming Lang:  Python
  Description : PopTray Minus is written in Python using PyQt4 GUI
libraries, so these two things are required. Fortunately, Python is already
installed and PyQt4 is available for installation on the most Linux
distributions. If you use Windows or Mac OS X your mileage may vary. If
you are
using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy, you have PyQt 4.3 installed by default, but
PopTray Minus requires version 4.4, please check this How To Install PyQt
4.4 for
Ubuntu 8.04 hardy page.Main idea is to hide in the tray, so we need a good
X11 based GUI manager that implements the freedesktop.org system tray
specification (recent versions of KDE and GNOME). According to the PyQt4
manuals, Windows and Mac OS X may also be supported but I haven't checked
it

yet.

POP3 server with UIDL support is almost required. UIDL is important
because it allows us to track messages between POP3 sessions while other
programs
may access and/or modify the mailbox contents. If your server lacks UIDL,
you won't be able to preview/delete messages, however message list and
basic

from/to/subj filters should work just fine.

 Cadabra is a computer algebra system designed specifically for the
 solution of problems encountered in field theory. It has extensive
 functionality for tensor polynomial simplification including
 multi-term symmetries, fermions and anti-commuting variables,
 Clifford algebras and Fierz transformations, implicit coordinate
 dependence, multiple index types and many more. The input format is

Bug#511036: ttf-droid, sponsorship?

2009-09-09 Thread Faidon Liambotis
Hi,

There is an ITP bug for the droid fonts since January, but unfortunately
noone has taken a step and upload them yet.

However, I'm seeing that you're maintaining them in Ubuntu?

Are you still interested in having them in Debian?

If so, I can sponsor your uploads and perhaps you could also join the
Debian Fonts packaging team (of which I am part of).

If not, please say so, so someone else can go ahead and take over this ITP.

If you don't reply within the next two weeks and time permits, I'll do
an upload and you can join me or take over maintainership later.

Thanks,
Faidon

* Package name: prophet
  Version : 0.70
  Upstream Author : Jesse Vincent
* URL : http://syncwith.us/
* License : Perl (Artistic | GPL-1+)
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : distributed, peer to peer replicated database system

 Prophet is a new kind of database designed for the post Web-2.0 world.
 It's made to let you collaborate with your friends and coworkers without
 needing any kind of special server or internet provider.
 .
 Prophet's buzzword-laden pitch reads something like this:
 .
 A grounded, semirelational, peer to peer replicated, disconnected,
 versioned, property database with self-healing conflict resolution.
 .
 What that really means is that Prophet keeps your data in your control,
 not on a server in a cloud, is designed for online and offline use,
 syncs changes peer to peer in any way you can think of, and has a
 pluggable conflict resolution system that allows application writers to
 decide how to resolve conflicts during synchronization, using Prophet's
 algorithm or any other.
 .
 If you're not a programmer, you likely want an end-user application
 build on top of Prophet, rather than this package.
