Bug#513771: RFP: openx -- open source advertising server
Hi, I think it would be great to include openx in debian. I've worked with it for two years, installing, administering, tweaking and, for specific purposes of particular ad serving applications, modifying it. But am an absolute newbie at the debian packaging and maintaining system, although i'm eager to learn about it :). I have read the documents at [1] and [2], but don't know which would be the first steps to begin with this package. Should i contact openx developers first? Or just use reportbug to change the status from 'RFP' to 'IPT' and then ask on the debian-mentors list? [1] http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/ [2] http://www.debian.org/doc/maint-guide/ Any help much appreciated. Bug#509532: Debian / Ubuntu packaging for Cluedome
Hi, Please see below, regarding the copyright status of some of the data in the source archive. -- Message to supp...@cluedome.com -- Hi there, I'm looking at packaging up Cluedome within Debian, after receiving this request: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=509532 However, despite the GPL, the source I have looked at contains copyright-infringing material (the data files which make it actually play 'Cluedo'). We wouldn't be able to include these in any Debian package. Is it possible for you to provide a source archive which does NOT contain these data files? We would indicate on the package where to go to get hold of data files (is there a dedicated section on your site?) While we can patch the files out, as we also include the original archive in the source packages, this would still technically be distributing copyright-infringing material.
