Bug#511461: RFA: lprng -- lpr/lpd printer spooling system

2009-01-11 Thread Craig Small
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hello,
I'm using lprng less and less these days so I'm putting it up for
adoption. I will continue to maintain it in the meantime but if you
would like to take over the maintenance of it, let me know.

The package description is:
The LPRng software is an enhanced, extended, and portable version
of the Berkeley LPR software (the standards UNIX printer spooler)
You can use this for local and remote printers.

Hotwire is an integrated inventory system and a rapid deploy tool targeted at

Currently the supported rapid-deploy technologies that hotwire supports are
Kickstart (Red Hat Linux) and YaST (SUSE Linux), Jumpstart (Sun Solaris) is
on the horizon. The hotwire server itself can be installed on any Linux
platform however.

Additionally, where client machines have the python-dmidecode, func and
certmaster packages installed, hotwire is able to provide an automated
inventory maintenance and dynamic updates, via funcwire, a hotwire tool.

Hi all, thanks for your work on the limesurvey package.
I'm gonna need this software and I'm saddened to not seeing it in the
Debian archive yet.

Can I ask what is mussing for uploading the package? Is it just a
matter of sponsoring or what? If you need sponsoring please let me
know, as I'd be happy to help out (as I'm going to use your package
anyhow :-)).

Cheers.

The licence does mention using it, in "Your use of this software code
is at your own risk ...", so I doubt we can include it in "display".

If S3.rb is from
http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=135&categoryID=47
(which it looks like at first glance in the tarball) then it claims to
be "New BSD" which seems very untrue, comparing the S3.rb licence to
http://www.debian.org/misc/bsd.license

Anyone got a good contact for relicensing at Amazon Data Services Inc?
If not, I'll try the er...@aws link on the above page next time I
remember.

Thanks for the pointer.

> Feel free to do whatever you want to it

Please expand: I'm willing to review / sponsor your package, but I'm
not willing to maintain it in Debian for the moment. Hence, if you (or
someone else) want to take care of maintaining it I'll be happy to
sponsor---even routinely---if there is the need.

If this is not the case it would be quite pointless to sponsor the
upload of a package which will be de facto orphaned just after its
first upload.

Cheers.

Bug#289632: BrlCAD - co-maintainers are welcome

thanks

Hi,

brlcad is quite complex as package so... co-maintainer(s) is(are) welcome.

The git repository is on alioth/collab-maint:
URL git://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/brlcad.git

http://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/brlcad.git

At this moment, there are *a lot* of lintian warning that should be fixed:
# lintian -I brlcad_7.14.0+dfsg-1_amd64.changes | wc -l
583

Most of them are "hyphen-used-as-minus-sign", but I have also
binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath, and a lot of script-not-executable and
executable-not-elf-or-script.

Cheers,
Giuseppe.

I don't have much time for this now.
limesurvey still requires a lot of work to be included in main. if you
are ready to help, here are some areas of interest:
- copyright should be checked more closely (maybe some non-DFSG
included libs should be removed)
- external libs should be used if already packaged
- test, test, test

If you want, you can use the svn repository and correct all these.

I gave Nick a list of questions and issues, but didn't realise that
there was a new version on his website; Nick and Mathieu - where do we
stand on a collaboration? Or does one of you want to do it alone?

Bug#511530: ITP: mmpong -- massively multiplayer pong game

2009-01-11 Thread André Gaul
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "André Gaul"

* Package name: mmpong
  Version : 0.9
Upstream Author : Kai Hertel ,
André Gaul
* URL : http://www.mmpong.net
* License : GPL 3
  Programming Lang: C, C++
Description : massively multiplayer pong game

mmpong is an ATARI-pong-like multiplayer game, where a moving ball
reflects on impact from paddles on the left and right sides of the
screen.

A special feature of this variant is the ability to play the game
with far more than two players. Players are split into two teams, and
the position of each team's paddle is determined by the mean value of
the positions of all the players' paddles on the team. mmpong supports
a number of different paddle profiles (like flat or round).

The mmpongd server is capable of serving hundreds of clients
simultaneously and scales sufficiently well on SMP machines
(pthreads).

Currently, there are two clients at your disposal:
* mmpong-caca:
basic console-style client based on libcaca
* mmpong-gl:
graphically advanced OpenGL client available for Linux, Mac OS X
  and Windows

I request an adopter for the newlib-m68hc1x package.

The package description is:
Newlib is a C library intended for use on embedded systems. It is a
conglomeration of several library parts, all under free software licenses
that make them easily usable on embedded products.
 .
This package contains the newlib library compiled for Motorola's 68HC11/12
 targets.

While this bug was still open, it has been adopted, given the binary
package newlib-m68hc1x is now provided by the source package newlib.

 Timeline is a DHTML-based AJAX-based widget for visualizing time-based
events. It uses the "slippy page" concept in a similar way to Google Maps,
allowing the user to pan the timeline by dragging the page horizontally.

Each timeline can consist of multiple "bands", each with a configurable
scale, which can provide useful context when displaying a large number
 of items.

Created timelines can be populated directly via XML or JSON.

(Debian users will recognise this library from http://timeline.debian.net/. I
plan to maintain this library within pkg-javascript.)

I'm no longer interested in maintaining TurboGears. I believe it's
going in a bad direction with all the setuptools stuff. I'd rather
keep using smaller, saner libraries. Since I'm not effectivelly
maintaining it for quite some time now, I decided it was time to let
go.

Thanks,
