Actually, Achim also has a repository

those as a starting point. Thank you for the pointer, though. These
packages are not quite ready for Debian, but we are working on it.

  This module is implementation of node API of Hyper Estraier. Since
  it's perl-only module with dependencies only on standard perl modules,
  it will run on all platforms on which perl runs. It doesn't require
  compilation or Hyper Estraier development files on target machine.

  It is implemented as multiple packages which closly resamble Ruby
  implementation. It also includes methods to manage nodes.

FYI upstream authors seem OK for a license exception allowing link with OpenSSL

It seems we're close from a situation where an ITP could be filed.

the source of emacs.app has been merged into the official

once emacs 23.x is shipped with debian this bug should be
reassigned to emacs and be built from that source using

here's the debian/* files i used to use for the earlier
unmerged emacs.app debian packages:

Bug#413906: Tomcat 6 full server stack packaging

2008-08-11 Thread Thierry Carrez
Since the source package already exists, I have been told it's probably
better to file this as a bug against the current tomcat6 package rather
than as part of the Tomcat6 ITP bug.

This full server stack packaging proposal is now tracked in bug #494674:

Sorry for the noise.

Bug#461806: Adopting it

2008-08-11 Thread Frank S. Thomas
Hi Ding,

Sorry for the late reply.

On Tuesday 05 August 2008 09:32, Ding Honghui wrote:
> I has update the fields and reupload the package to mentors.debian.org.

Ok, good. I've uploaded your package. For further uploads of curlftpfs, please
contact me directly.

I still have some comments on the current package which you should keep in
mind for the future and/or fix in the next revision:

From your .diff.gz:
> +curlftpfs (0.9.2-1) unstable; urgency=low
> +
> +  * New upstream release. (closes: #480320,#449207,#461455)

Unless all three bugs are about packaging the new upstream release, this is a
bad habit of writing a changelog entry. Better would be something like this:

  * New upstream release. (closes: #999111)
- Fixes bug A. (closes: #123456)
- Fixes problem when doing this and that. (closes: #123457)

Bug #999111 is then the report which is about packaging the new upstream
release.

Second, the build-dependency on libcurl4-gnutls-dev should be versioned, it
should be "libcurl4-gnutls-dev (>= 7.17.0)" because libcurl4-gnutls-dev
packages existed which does not fullfill the above requirement.

See Debian Policy for reference:
> 4.2 Package relationships
> [...]
> If build-time dependencies are specified, it must be possible to build the
> package and produce working binaries on a system with only essential and
> build-essential packages installed and also those required to satisfy the
> build-time relationships (including any implied relationships). In

Description: filesystem to access FTP hosts based on FUSE and cURL
 CurlFtpFS is a tool to mount FTP hosts as local directories. It connects
 to a FTP server and maps its directory structure to the local filesystem.
 .
 Based on FUSE (filesystem in userspace) and the cURL library, CurlFtpFS
 has some features that distinguish it over other FTP filesystems:
  * support for SSLv3 and TLSv1
  * connecting through tunneling HTTP proxies
  * automatic reconnection if the server times out
  * conversion of absolute symlinks to point back into the FTP filesystem

Bug#494710: ITP: topgit -- Git patch queue manager

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "martin f. krafft" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Petr Baudis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://repo.or.cz/w/topgit.git
* License : GPL v2

  Description : Git patch queue manager

TopGit manages a patch queue using Git topic branches, one patch per
branch. It allows for patch dependencies and can thus manage
non-linear patch series.

TopGit is a minimal layer on top of Git, which does not limit use of
Git's functionality (such as the index). It rigorously keeps history
until a patch is accepted upstream. It is also fully usable across
distributed repositories.

PS: if someone else wants to package this before I do, just take
over this ITP.

Package: wnpp

With a single process, gkrellm manages multiple stacked monitors and
supports applying themes to match the monitors appearance to your window
manager, Gtk, or any other theme.

I'm no longer using gkrellm in my machines, right now is working with a
patch for support of sysfs battery from Leo L. Schwab. (I already sent
it to upstream but haven't respond anything).

At the date there's a RC-bug already fixed in the GIT repository [0] and
sent to my sponsor awaiting to get uploaded [1].

Upstream doesn't seem inactive, even when I sent the new patch for sysfs
battery support and haven't respond anything (the patch is kind of big).

I'd like to adopt this package: I used it on almost all my machine. Of

I'll wait for Anibal to upload it; Anibal, would like to keep

After that I'll start committing changed on that git repo.

  Upstream Author : Christophe Troestler
* URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/ocaml-gnuplot/

 This library implements a simple interface to the gnuplot program. All
 functions talk to gnuplot through a pipe, so crude animations are
 possible.

Bug#494764: ITP: cl-clg -- Common Lisp bindings to GTK+ v2.x

2008-08-11 Thread Mario Lang
Package: wnpp
Owner: Mario Lang <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: cl-clg
  Version : 0.9.4~20080506
  Upstream Author : Espen S. Johnsen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL or Web page : http://sourceforge.net/projects/clg/
* License : MIT
  Description : Common Lisp bindings to GTK+ v2.x

CLG is one binding to GTK+ for Common Lisp that works nicely and
seems to be actively maintained upstream. The bindings are
pretty lispy. CLOS is used as a wrapper around the various GTK classes,
so (make-instance 'window ...) is used to create a GTK window and so on.

My personal motivation to package this is that CL on Debian is
currently lacking an accessible GUI framework. McCLIM does most
of its drawing stuff directly and has no at-spi support, therefore
McCLIM GUIs are not accessible currently.

By using a GTK+ binding, we get accessibility for free since GTK+
already implements it for all standard widgets.

I am going to package a cvs snapshot because recent changes in
cvs bring back working SBCL support.

Hello Martin,

http://repo.or.cz/w/topgit.git?a=blob;f=README may be more helpful as a
reference URL. It was given by the upstream author on

Bug#494705: [Monotone-devel] RFA: monotone-viz - visualize a monotone repository

2008-08-11 Thread Brian May

Shaun Jackman wrote:

Due to a change of job, I am not using this tool as regularly as I
used to. This package we would be better maintained by someone who
does. There is one outstanding release-critical bug.

Hello Debian-Release team,

monotone-viz is RFA'ed and has a release critical bug:

I am assuming this is a issue in Lenny because Lenny appears to have the
latest version of monotone:

Unfortunately, the solution recommended in the bug report is to update
the package to the newest upstream version.
It looks like this version uses a different mechanism to access the
database, from

   1.0: do not access the monotone database directly: obtain all
   necessay information via the |mtn automate| mechanism

The other changes appear to be relatively minor (documentation and build
issues).

If somebody were to package the latest version and put it in unstable,
is there any chance of it getting into Lenny?

Thanks.

Brian May
