Description: 3D Tetris like popular game similar to Welltris
The idea of this game was by the Russian programmer Pogitnov. It has
the same gameplay concept as Tetris.
 .
Imagine that you are looking into a glass from the top. You see four
walls and the bottom. The flat 2D figures falling down from the walls
one by one. You can move these figures from one wall to another or
rotate the figure. If the figure leave the wall it moves on the bottom
while another figure is pushed. You need to form full rows and/or
columns on the bottom. When you form such row it disappear and you
receive additional empty space on the bottom and scores :).

Bug#406335: Pinging the ITP and updating news

2008-05-31 Thread Robin Cornelius

Ok so this is still very much being worked on so pinging the ITP to keep
alive.

Firstly on my test repository apt.byteme.org.uk we have stable release
version 1.19.1 and release candidate 1.20.8 available and i have been
tracking releases pretty closely.

Due to Linden Research Inc's current trademark policy the viewer has
been renamed from slviewer or secondlife-client etc to "Open Metaverse
viewer" This could be changed again in the future as we are not in
debian yet anyway. I am actively talking to some Lindens about how to
proceed with the use of their trademarks for this kind of packaging of
their viewer and we are finding examples already in debian of this kind
of situation. Its just taking a while as it has to go through their
legal team. But untill this situation is resolved I must obey the
trademark policy to protect myself and Debian.

The VCS for the source code is on the move too. It is being/has been
moved to a git repository under the pkg-games on Alioth so if you want
to get the latest sources for the debian package it can be found at

http://git.debian.org/git/pkg-games/slviewer.git
http://git.debian.org/git/pkg-games/slviewer-artwork.git

but note these git repository's build "Open Metaverse viewer" or
"omvviewer" packages due to the rename.

Also i am putting some details on the debian wiki at

http://wiki.debian.org/Games/OpenMetaverseViewer

Regards

Robin

Daniel replied saying that this package is welcome in the
forensic repo. I'm quite interested in this package too, so I'd either
suggest putting it there or in collab-maint (I personally prefer git).

What's particular about that? It's a normal GPLv2 file with a
third-party author. You just have to give him his credit.
See http://wiki.debian.org/Proposals/CopyrightFormat for more complex
examples.

Anyway I still strongly object to your choice of having a -dbg package
for a simple single binary package. As I've already said, I won't
upload such a package in debian (unless I'm proved wrong or got a very
rational motivation, of course :).

I think I will go for a co-maintenance with you after I get your reply,
as I'm quite interested in having it in place for Lenny.

Cheers, Luca

Hi,

FreeSWITCH v1.0 was released recently.

Is there any progress in packaging it, please? Do you have an WIP
pacakges to be tested?

I notice that upstream has a debian/ directory and they give
instructions to build a package at
 - has
anyone tested this to see if it is suitable for inclusion in the archive?

Bug#469626: ITP: gstopenmax -- a GStreamer plug-in for OpenMAX IL

2008-05-31 Thread Marc-André Lureau
Hi,

Guillem is reviewing the packages.

They are hosted on pkg-gstreamer for gstopenmax and git.debian.org for bellagio.
They should be on "mentors" also.

Thanks

There's probably no reason to package this module anymore as it's already
included as part of perl-5.10.0 now.

Bug#483856: ITP: oss4 -- Next generation of the Open Sound System

2008-05-31 Thread Romain Beauxis
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Romain Beauxis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name    : oss4
  Version         : 4.0
  Upstream Author : 4Front Technologies
* URL             : http://www.4front-tech.com/developer/sources/stable/gpl/
* License         : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description     : Next generation of the open sound system

OSS4 is the branch of the original open source system that became
temporary closed source some times ago.
This is now over, and the code is GPLed for linux systems.

Many developers claim that OSS4 is now far supperior to ALSA in many
domains, in particular documentation and API.

I personally tend to agree with them, and since the code is GPL, I don't
see any reasons why we shouldn't provide this alternatives to our users.

I was not able to find a similar ITP or packaging effort, so I hope this
is not redundant.

I'll be, of course, accepting other interested packagers for this
package.

For more details, you can read this blog post:
  http://insanecoding.blogspot.com/2007/05/sorry-state-of-sound-in-linux.html
and:
  http://4front-tech.com/hannublog/?p=5
Of course, they may be biased, but that doesn't mean we can't provide
these drivers and let the user choose.

Romain

Yup, I agree with this.

I believe you need all three. Conflicts causes the other one to be
removed, Provides causes dependencies on all the others to be satisfied.

At the very least it should be maintained in a shared VCS and I should
be added as an uploader.

I can't see anything else obvious, I shall email debian-x and ask
whether it should be maintained in the XSF repositories.

Bug#418889: Nouveau packaging

2008-05-31 Thread Matthew Johnson
Dear X maintainers,

I'm considering uploading packages for the Nouveau drivers to
experimental. The summary of the discussion is attached to bug #418889.
The packages were adapted by Chris Lamb from Christopher Rogers' Ubuntu
PPA packages.

The current packages are at:

http://chris-lamb.co.uk/debian/libdrm-snapshot_2.3.1~git%2b20080530%2b6e8a2cf-1.dsc

http://chris-lamb.co.uk/debian/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau_0.0.10~git%2b20080526%2be034616-1.dsc

They need Replaces/Conflits/Provides fixing.

Would you like this maintained as part of the XSF and do you have any
other comments before I upload them?

Thanks,

Matt

I've orphaned the fbreader package.

If you adopt this, you'll probably also want to adopt its
build-dependency, liblinebreak-dev.

The git repository will remain available for a while; if it's needed
later I can always pull a backup..

The package description is:
 FBReader is an e-book reader.
 .
 Main features:
  * supports several open e-book formats: fb2, html, chm, plucker,
palmdoc, ztxt, tcr (psion text), rtf, oeb, openreader, non-DRM'ed
mobipocket, plain text, epub
  * reads directly from tar, zip, gzip, bzip2 archives (you can have
several books in one archive)
  * supports a structured view of your e-book collection
  * automatically determines encodings
  * automatically generates a table of contents
  * keeps the last open book and the last read positions for all open books
between runs
  * automatic hyphenation (patterns for several languages are included)

I'd rename the drm package to just 'drm-snapshot', since you provide the
kernel modules as well as the lib.
It seems there's a problem with libdrm, though, if you provide
libdrm.so.2 you'll have to conflict with the libdrm2 package from
unstable, and then the driver won't be installable together with the x
server? If someone can check that the only symbols missing from the
snapshot version of the lib are TTM-related, maybe it'd be better to
just call it libdrm2? (I know I've said the opposite before, but I
thought the removed symbols were being used.)

The nouveau package description needs to be fixed to not refer to it as
an X.Org driver, too, and point to nouveau.freedesktop.org instead of
xorg.freedesktop.org.

Whatever you prefer is fine by me.

Bug#483894: RFP: libconfig-scoped-perl -- feature rich configuration file parser

2008-05-31 Thread Marc Haber
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libconfig-scoped-perl
  Version : 0.12
  Upstream Author : Karl Gaissmaier
* URL :
http://search.cpan.org/~gaissmai/Config-Scoped-0.12/lib/Config/Scoped.pm
* License : This library is free software; you can
redistribute it and/or modify it under the same
terms as Perl itself.
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : feature rich configuration file parser

Config::Scoped is a configuration file parser for complex
configuration files based on Parse::RecDescent. Files similar to the
ISC named or ISC dhcpd configurations are possible. In order to be
fast a precompiled grammar and optionally a config cache is used.

Config::Scoped has the following highlights as a configuration file parser:

* Complex recursive datastructures to any extent with scalars,
  lists and hashes as elements,
* As a subset parses any complex Perl datastructures (no
references and globs) without do or require,
* Include files with recursion checks,
* Controlled macro expansion in double quoted tokens,
* Lexically scoped parameter assignments and pragma directives,
* Perl quote like constructs to any extent, '', "", and here docs <<,
* Perl code evaluation in Safe compartments,
* Caching and restore with MD5 checks to determine alterations in
  the original config files,
* Standard macro, parameter, declaration redefinition validation,
may be overridden to validate on semantic knowledge,
* Standard file permission and ownership safety validation, may be
  overridden,
* Fine control for redefiniton warnings with pragma's and other
  safety checks,
* Easy inheritable, may be subclassed to build parsers with
  specialized validation features,
* Condoning syntax checker, semicolons and or commas are not
always necessary to finish a statement or a list item if the end
can be guessed by other means like newlines, closing brackets,
  braces etc.,
* Well spotted messages for syntax errors even within include
files with correct line numbers and file names,
* Exception based error handling,

Bug#418889: Packaging nouveau

2008-05-31 Thread Chris Lamb
Hi Matthew,

> I can't see anything else obvious, I shall email debian-x and ask
> whether it should be maintained in the XSF repositories.

Excellent; I saw your post and have incorporated the following changes:

 * Rename source package libdrm-snapshot => drm-snapshot.
 * Remove X.Org "endorsements" from xserver-xorg-video-nouveau package
   description.

So as I see it, the two issues that remain are:

 1. libdrm shared-object binary name
 ===

> >However, I seem to have been misinformed about how the

Hm, I tried again.. When using all three, ie.:

 Package: libdrm-snapshot2
 [...]
 Replaces: libdrm2 (<< 2.3.1~git+20080530+6e8a2cf-1)
 Conflicts: libdrm2 (<< 2.3.1~git+20080530+6e8a2cf-1)
 Provides: libdrm2

.. and testing the upgrade from unstable's libdrm2, I get:

   http://chris-lamb.co.uk/b/libdrm-snapshot-dpkg.txt

Using --auto-deconfigure does not help, and nor does placing the files in a
repository. Are we certain that Replaces/Conflicts/Provides works with
non-virtual packages?

Julien's reply to your debian-x mail suggested:

> if you provide libdrm.so.2 you'll have to conflict with the libdrm2
> package from unstable, and then the driver won't be installable together
> with the x server? If someone can check that the only symbols missing

Hm, what do you think? The snapshot packages would never be in unstable so
there is not a namespace conflict, but it would rob the existing libdrm
source package of control over experimental. However, according to Julien
on IRC, libdrm in experimental was only used for very new versions rather
than to test transitions, etc.

(On the other hand, having a completely different package name gives a nice
seperation; no accidental installations of the bleeding-edge code.)

 2. Maintainer/Uploaders field
 =

> At the very least it should be maintained in a shared VCS and I should

Agree 100%. As the owner of the ITP, I defer this decision to you. I am
perfectly happy with it being in the XSF repositories, but I do not have
commit access there. Do you happen to know the procedure for joining?

For completeness, I have updated the packages:
