Bug#447470: RFP: climm -- A very portable text-based ICQ clone with IRC / XMPP support
I found two issues that prevent me to package it: 1. climm-0.6.1/COPYING I am not sure what the license is. GPL2 or BSD? 2. Its tarball contains a debian directory. I have mailed to the upstream author and climm's mailing list about this. This not a big problem, though. First, I had an ITP [0] open for quite a while. You can read there for some lengthy conversation of the problems you will encounter with respect to getting login to work properly with anyterm. In short, there is an excerpt from a conversation in #debian-devel regarding the issue which indicates that getting acceptance from the security team may be problematic. Additionally, you will note in my last message to #311597, that anyterm has been superseded by ajaxterm [1] and webshell [2]. If you look, you will see that ajaxterm is already in Debian [3]. As far as webshell, its open bug is only an RFP. I recommend that you first look at ajaxterm and see if it fits your needs. If so, then excellent. If not, then please consider packaging webshell. Since the WNPP bug open against it is an RFP, you can simply take ownership of it and change its title to an ITP. If you still feel that you must package anyterm, then please read the log of #311597 carefully and also please consider adopting rote [4] away from me. The rote package is needed for anyterm and is very low maintenance. However, I do not use it myself. I just kept it around in the event someone else came along and wanted to package anyterm. Also, I have packages of version 1.1.5 of anyterm. If you want them, I will happily email you the source package or place them somewhere where you can download them. They work but should still be considered a work in progress, which is why I never released them officially. Also, as a final recommendation, please merge your current anyterm ITP with the old one so that the information in the old bug log is not lost. Bug#456227: Bug#458000: sphinx, sphinx-search -- same thing
Hi I don't have any problem with the name of it. sphinxsearch is a good one. I'll see if I had some time to work on this. Now I'm trying to put packages working in debian/ubuntu with patches and requesting syncs from debian to ubuntu when there is a new version. The ITP's merged are better. I really don't know if they can have two owners. Thanks Monty Taylor wrote: Hi Marco, As the ITP says, I've got some debs over at launchpad you can look at. It turns out we might want to file yet-one-more ITP and retire these. I spoke with Andrew about naming, and there are some other places where it is being packaged as sphinxsearch (no hyphen) so he's going to make his default file locations match where debian would want to see stuff... but prefers that to be based on the sphinxsearch name. Thoughts on that? I'm happy to work with you on this. I'm also working on get the SphinxSE plugin applied to the mysql packages. I am not really interested in Joomla! but is this really the case? I mean many related issues pop out but those are mainly in 3rd party components. Ove, an advance warning: Joomla! wouldn't be supported with security updates in a stable release, since security problems are too frequent. There's also serious concern, whether it's supportable through the life cycles of a full Debian release. Cheers, Moritz -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#405297: ITA: apt-spy -- writes a sources.list file based on bandwidth tests
owner 405297 Stefano Canepa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> thanks Hello Stefano, Nice to see you are interested in adopting apt-spy. As you may see, I've made some QA uploads recently, addressing some of the most important bugs in the package. FYI, the file debian/patches/append_option.diff contains a patch which adds an option so apt-spy appends the data rather than overwriting everything. At the moment isn't enabled because the way the -A option was added to getopt it expects a parameter to be set and that should be fixed. As far as I remember that's the only thing that needs to be fixed in order to get that option working. Cheers, -- Atomo64 - Raphael Please avoid sending me Word, PowerPoint or Excel attachments. If you don't know how to do it please read some documentation[1][2][3] before doing anything else. Debian is not just about packaging, but doing work of good quality, and for this you need knowledge. Bug#459268: ITP: libev -- high-performance event loop library modelled after libevent
Package: wnpp Owner: "Robert S. Edmonds" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Severity: wishlist * Package name: libev Version : 2.01 Upstream Author : Marc Alexander Lehmann * URL : http://libev.schmorp.de/ * License : BSD Programming Lang: C Description : high-performance event loop library modelled after libevent libev provides a full-featured and high-performance event loop that is loosely modelled after libevent. It includes relative timers, absolute timers with customized rescheduling, synchronous signals, process status change events, event watchers dealing with the event loop itself, file watchers, and even limited support for fork events. It uses a priority queue to manage timers and uses arrays as fundamental data structure. It has no artificial limitations on the number of watchers waiting for the same event. . libev supports select, poll, epoll, kqueue, and inotify. -- Robert Edmonds [EMAIL PROTECTED] signature.asc Description: Digital signature
