Bug#245995: ITP: libpcap-mmap -- System interface for user-level packet capture (MMAP version)
Package: wnpp Owner: "Robert S. Edmonds" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Severity: wishlist * Package name: libpcap-mmap Version : 0.9.20060417 Upstream Author : Phil Wood <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and the tcpdump-workers * URL : http://public.lanl.gov/cpw/ * License : BSD Programming Lang: C Description : System interface for user-level packet capture (MMAP version) libpcap (Packet CAPture) provides a portable framework for low-level network monitoring. Applications include network statistics collection, security monitoring, network debugging, etc. . Since almost every system vendor provides a different interface for packet capture, and since there are several tools that require this functionality, we've created this system-independent API to ease in porting and to alleviate the need for several system-dependent packet capture modules in each application. . This package has been built from Phil Wood's modified libpcap sources which enable packet capture in MMAP mode if your Linux kernel has been compiled with CONFIG_PACKET_MMAP=y. This facilitates packet capture at a higher rate without dropping packets, especially if you have a NAPI aware ethernet device driver. . Further information is available at http://public.lanl.gov/cpw/> -- Robert Edmonds [EMAIL PROTECTED] signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#381160: Currently not suitable for packaging
The way the program is organized right now makes it hard to package properly, it really needs to be put in its own python package so as not to muddy the water with an 'iptables' module that is very specific to autofw. I'll work on another version of autofw and upload it when its ready. Baruch -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#381427: Package really needs a manpage
The package is simple enough but it needs a manpage badly since there is no documentation otherwise and my time is very limited now to really do justice to a manpage. I'll avoid uploading it until it can be useful. I will hopefully be able to get it finished in a month or so, but if you're interested in this package it would be great if you could do a manpage and forward it to me. Bug#350916: marked as done (ITP: ttf-sil-doulos -- smart Unicode font for Latin and Cyrillic scripts)
Your message dated Mon, 07 Aug 2006 02:45:12 -0700 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#350916: fixed in ttf-sil-doulos 4.0.14-6 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Description: The goal for the Doulos SIL font is to provide a single Unicode-based font family that would contain a comprehensive inventory of glyphs needed for almost any Roman- or Cyrillic-based writing system, whether used for phonetic or orthographic needs. In addition, there is provision for other characters and symbols useful to linguists. This font makes use of state-of-the-art font technologies to support complex typographic issues, such as the need to position arbitrary combinations of base glyphs and diacritics optimally. The Doulos SIL font contains near-complete coverage of all the characters defined in Unicode 4.0 for Latin and Cyrillic. In total, over 2,200 glyphs are included, providing support for over 1,500 graphic or control characters as well as a large number of ligated character sequences (e.g., contour tone letters used in phonetic transcription of tonal languages). Please read the documentation (DoulosSIL4FontDocumentation.pdf) to see what ranges are supported. In addition, alternately-designed glyphs are also provided for a number of characters for use in particular contexts. The glyphs are accessible in applications that support advanced font technologies, specifically the Graphite or OpenType technologies. These technologies are also utilized to provide automatic positioning of diacritics relative to base characters in arbitrary base+diacritic combinations (including combinations involving multiple diacritics). Doulos SIL is released under the SIL Open Font License. Doulos SIL is a trademark of SIL International. See the OFL and OFL-FAQ for details of the SIL Open Font License. Elfutils is a collection of utilities, including ld (a linker), nm (for listing symbols from object files), size (for listing the section sizes of an object or archive file), strip (for discarding symbols), readelf (to see the raw ELF file structures), and elflint (to check for well-formed ELF files). Also included are numerous helper libraries which implement DWARF, ELF, and machine-specific ELF handling. >From the changelog: - The license is now GPL for most files. The libelf, libebl, libdw, and libdwfl libraries have additional exceptions. Add reference toOIN. (This allow to link with any open source license approved by OSI) It contains other libraries which have something simular in Debian already. libelf (with binary package libelfg0) seems to do exactly the same, so maybe we should look at only providing one of them. I have no idea why it has the g in it's name though. libdw seems to be simular to libdwarf, but differ alot. Bug#351025: marked as done (ITP: ttf-sil-charis -- Smart Unicode font family for)
Your message dated Mon, 07 Aug 2006 08:20:32 -0700 with message-id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and subject line Bug#351025: fixed in ttf-sil-charis 4.002-7 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. (NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I am talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration somewhere. Please contact me immediately.) Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) --- Begin Message --- Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Description: The goal for Charis SIL was to provide a single Unicode-based font family that would contain a comprehensive inventory of glyphs needed for almost any Roman- or Cyrillic-based writing system, whether used for phonetic or orthographic needs. In addition, there is provision for other characters and symbols useful to linguists. This font makes use of state-of-the-art font technologies to support complex typographic issues, such as the need to position arbitrary combinations of base glyphs and diacritics optimally. Four fonts from this typeface family are included in this release: * Charis SIL Regular * Charis SIL Bold * Charis SIL Italic * Charis SIL Bold Italic . Charis SIL is a TrueType font with "smart font" capabilities added using the Graphite, OpenType(r), and AAT font technologies. This means that complex typographic issues such as the placement of diacritics or the formation of ligatures are handled by the font, provided you are running an application that provides an adequate level of support for one of these smart font technologies. . Charis SIL is released under the SIL Open Font License. Charis SIL is a trademark of SIL International. . See the OFL and OFL-FAQ for details of the SIL Open Font License. See the FONTLOG for information on this and previous releases. See the CharisSIL4FontDocumentation.pdf or the font FAQ (http://scripts.sil.org/DoulosSILfontFAQ) for frequently asked questions and their answers. License: The OFL may be found at http://scripts.sil.org/OFL It is listed on http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/index_html as a license suitable for fonts. debian-legal hasn't come to a consensus about the license yet so I won't upload until that happens. Bug#381888: ITP: trafshow -- real-time network traffic visualization
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Christoph Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: trafshow Version : 5.2.3 Upstream Author : Vladimir VorobyevName * URL : ftp://ftp.nsk.su/pub/RinetSoft/ * License : Free software (See below) Description : real-time network traffic visualization Trafshow is a simple interactive program that gather the network traffic from all libpcap-capable interfaces to accumulate it in memory cache, and then separately display it on appropriated curses window in line-narrowed manner as a list of network flows sorted by throughput. Display updates occurs nearly in real time, asynchronously from data collecting. It look like a live show of traffic flows. Any kind of network traffic are mixed together in the one live-show screen, an Ethernet, IP, etc. The IP traffic can be aggregated by netmask prefix bits and service ports to reorganize a heap of trivial flows into the treelike hierarchies suitable for human perception. The user can glance over the list of resulting flows and select at their to browse detail. So you can deepen into the traffic inheritance hierarchy and inspect the packets of each trivial flow in variety of presentations: raw-hex, ascii, time-stamp. The program make aggregation automatically when number of flows will exceed some reasonable amount. Just a few seconds after launch may be required for adaptation to your volume of traffic. Trafshow also listens on UDP port (as a server) for diverse feeders of Cisco Netflow and then separately display the collected data in the same manner as described above. The following versions of Netflow are currently supported: V1, V5, V7. JMGM> Again, thanks for your valuable help. Hi Juan, I've seen that ktoon 0.8 is out! :) I've update the debian package of the 0.8.0rc1 (I've just added a new entry to the debian/changelog)and built it. Everything seems to work fine on my amd64 system. What do you think about uploading it to Debian? Ciao, Free

[Apologies if this is a bit brief, it;s the third time of trying] Try usr/bin/audacious-arts-helper usr/lib/audacious/ in debian/audacious-plugins-extra.package. See dh_install(1) for more info. > The two warning about rpath shouldn't exists too because I configured > audacious with --disable-rpath. I don't knwo how to fix them. > Apparently --disable-rpath doesn't work. It might be worth trying to work out why it thinks it needs it. What arch are you building on? A couple more points pkg-config is needed in Build-Depends. pbuilder can help to catch this sort of thing. libvisual is now libvisual-0.4-dev in sid (which you should be targetting). It looks like libtag1-dev should be preferred to libtagc0-dev, but I'm not entirely sure.
