Yup, that's a sort of design flaw. I've underestimated the impact of
API changes in this project. :-(

As an ugly workaround, one could install pysnmp's into different
directories and tackle PYTHONPATH on a per-application basis.

If anyone wants to backport this code into pysnmp[23], I'd happily commit
this into the distros or create a stand-alone package. Otherwise, I can do
that by myself. Just let me know.

I'm a bit reluctant about this approach because:

1) It would still require a modification to existing packages (rename
   pysnmp into pysnmp[234])
2) Looks like pysnmp4 is going to be final in terms of functionality and
API (hopefully, oh) so all other versions will be gradually phased out.
I'd like the final version to be called just "pysnmp" for the sake
   of simplicity and aestetics. ;-)

Bug#364574: ITP: libtie-encryptedhash-perl -- Hashes and hashes based objects with encrypting fields for perl

2006-04-24 Thread Pierre-Matthieu Alamy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Pierre-Matthieu Alamy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libtie-encryptedhash-perl
  Version : 1.21
Upstream Author : Vipul Ved Prakash <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://cpan.org/modules/by-module/Tie/
* License : Artistic
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Hashes and hashes based objects with encrypting fields for
perl

Tie::EncryptedHash augments Perl hash semantics to build secure, encrypting
containers of data.
Tie::EncryptedHash introduces special hash fields that are coupled with
encrypt/decrypt routines to encrypt
assignments at STORE() and decrypt retrievals at FETCH(). By design, encrypting
fields are associated with keys
that begin in single underscore. The remaining keyspace is used for accessing
normal hash fields, which are
retained without modification.

While the password is set, a Tie::EncryptedHash behaves exactly like a standard
Perl hash. This is its
transparent mode of access. Encrypting and normal fields are identical in this
mode. When password is deleted,
encrypting fields are accessible only as ciphertext. This is
Tie::EncryptedHash's opaque mode of access,
optimized for serialization.

Encryption is done with Crypt::CBC(3) which encrypts in the cipher block
chaining mode with Blowfish, DES or
IDEA. Tie::EncryptedHash uses Blowfish by default, but can be instructed to
employ any cipher supported by
Crypt::CBC(3).

Bug#364577: ITP: libclass-loader-perl -- Load modules and create objects on demand for perl

Upstream Author : Vipul Ved Prakash <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://cpan.org/modules/by-module/Class/
* License : Artistic
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Load modules and create objects on demand for perl

Certain applications like to defer the decision to use a particular module till
runtime. This is possible in
perl, and is a useful trick in situations where the type of data is not known
at compile time and the application
doesn't wish to pre-compile modules to handle all types of data it can work
with. Loading modules at runtime can
also provide flexible interfaces for perl modules. Modules can let the
programmer decide what modules will be
used by it instead of hard-coding their names.

Class::Loader is an inheritable class that provides a method, _load(), to load
a module from disk and construct
an object by calling its constructor. It also provides a way to map modules
names and associated metadata with
symbolic names that can be used in place of module names at _load().

Description : creation of PostScript documents containing Unicode symbols

LASi is a library that provides a C++ stream output interface (with
operator << ) for creating PostScript documents that can contain
characters from any of the scripts and symbol blocks supported in
Unicode and by Pango layout engine. The library accomodates
right-to-left scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew as easily as
left-to-right scripts. Indic and Indic-derived Complex Text Layout
(CTL) scripts, such as Devanagari, Thai, Lao, and Tibetan are
supported to the extent provided by Pango and by the OpenType fonts
installed on your system. All of this is provided without need for
any special configuration or layout calculation on the programmer's
part.

A preliminary version of the packages are available at the apt-getable

We could do it like this:

- pysnmp2 is patched to install to pysnmp/v2
- pysnmp3 is patched to install to pysnmp/v3
- pysnmp4 already installs to pysnmp/v4
- the version switch-module from v4 is packaged as pysnmp-common and the
other version depend on it
- Programs need to specify what the need via os.envrion

Perhaps it would be possible to use something like "import pysnmp.v2 as
pysnmp"?

That would mean that software packaged for Debian which uses pysnmp
will have to be patched to be able to use pysnmp, and do we really
want that?

Sounds good to me. In terms of the lesser of evils.

> Perhaps it would be possible to use something like "import pysnmp.v2 as

Perhaps it depends of how version-switch module works.

Even if possible, I'd not suggest this way of version switching (e.g.
an API) as it may create another dependency in the future. The
os.environ-based method looks functionally the same but it can also be
used without source code modifications (e.g. from startup script).

Its now good, but i dont see any other good way :/

The default (if you don't change os.environ) would be the most recent
installed version.

But if we don't have a way to select one of the installed version, it
would be impossible to install programs that depend on different
versions. That would be a severe restriction.

What do you think about using the module names pysnmp for pysnmp4 and
pysnmp[23] for the older versions?

* Package name: exscalibar
  Version : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Gavin Wood
* URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/exscalibar/
* License : GPL
Description : extendable, scalable architecture for audio-signal
refinement

This package is needed to enable amarok's "moodbar". I haven't really
looked at this yet, but here's what the docs say:

Exscalibar is an acronym for EXtendable SCalable Architecture for Live,
Interactive and Batch Audio-signal information-Retrieval.
The Exscalibar project is an umbrella project to design and implement software
to facilitate experiments into audio feature extraction techniques specifically
for the purpose of music information retrieval.
These software components are:
 - QtExtra A utility class library that provides a simple and usable
interface to functionality such as network session management
(including addressing the problem of big/little endian
communication), dynamic code loading (plug-in management) and
memory management issues that arise with class-based threading.
 - Geddei The core software library that provides the infrastructure
to allow the processing to happen. This looks after such aspects as
defining the ``front-end'' abstract interfaces for processing
modules and implementing all necessary communication between the
different threads and processes. Geddei addresses such aspects of
communication as type-correctness and type-derivation, aspects of
parallelism such as synchronisation and process-control, and
abstracts where necessary to provide different levels of
parallelism (such as multithreading and network-based
   distribution).
 - Common Processor Libraries The CPL provide a collection of
``building blocks'' with which desired computations may be
expressed. Several libraries exist, each addressing some
application of computation; currently we have libraries featuring
modules in mathematics and music IR. We also have a toolkit library
for analysing and probing a network from a program. We also have a
library (in the experimental phase) that allows usage of
components of another audio-signal processing software library.
 - Remote Geddei (rGeddei) This extra software library that sits atop
Geddei provides the necessary functionality to control a Geddei
``session'' on a different memory area or host. This is important
(and generally necessary) when Geddei is to be scaled up to use
multiple hosts (or nodes) in order to carry out some computation.
rGeddei abstracts away from the concrete instantiations of Geddei
objects to provide a create-and-control interface that is location
transparent from the programmer's point of view.
 - NodeServer This software works with rGeddei to allow it use of a
particular host (or node). It is able to listen to and act on
requests directing it to create or otherwise control a Geddei
``session''. It provides a basic authentication mechanism in order
   to address security issues.
 - NodeController This software is able to control a single
Geddei-based distributed experiment, unaided, potentially in a
batch configuration. It is able to submit Grid jobs to establish a
number of hosts running the NodeServer software and then to utilise
them to complete a given job. It is conceivable that this
particular piece of software could be adapted to become a Web
   Service.
 - Network Investigation Toolkit Environment NITE is a graphical
application for designing Geddei-based dataflows and expressing a
particular computation. It is designed to be a Rapid Application
Development environment employing all modern aspects of a GUI
including drag-and-drop and physical modelling of components.

Bug#364609: O: Gnus -- A versatile News and mailing list reader for Emacsen.

2006-04-24 Thread Manoj Srivastava
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi,

After seven and a half years of maintaining Gnus, I am having
to give away the package, on what I consider is a matter of
principle. My upload removing non-DFSG bits was rejected, on the
grounds that the upload renamed the source package name (the binary
 package name remains Gnus).

I find myself unable to comply with calling the source package
Gnus, even though we remove all documentation from the package, and
pretending it is just a newer upstream version, since that implies to
people looking at the list of sources that this is perhaps unreleased
upstream source package -- even though upstream is vehemently opposed
 to this course of action.

The package in Debian is currently tracking the development No
Gnus version. It is imperative that the version tracked not be
reverted to the versions shipping in the next release of Emacs, since
downgrading from NO *SHALL CAUSE INFORMATION LOSS*.

Additionally, as packaged, Gnus does not use _any_ helper
packages, so unless effort is spent with the build mechanism, or if
the next maintainer prefers to use helper packages, then this has to
 be packaged from scratch.

Gnus is different from most elisp packages in that it also
provides pixmaps for the toolbar, and also images for smilies, so
special care has to be taken when creating the package. This is most
definitely not your run of the mill emacs package. Also, since we
track the development branch, the maintainer would have to be on the
devel list, and has to exercise judgement about which development
release is bug-free enough to include into Sid.

It is a bit of a wrench to give up this package, since I have
been the mainsiner since Micheal Dorman packaged it (and never
uploaded another version), but Gnus has non-free materiel, and
therefore needs a new upload _now_. I feel uncomfortable acceding to
practices I consider unethical, and I lack the motivation to fight
the ftp masters and the project on this issue.

This module provides a single function called dump_xml() that takes a
list of Perl values as its argument and produces a string as its result.
The string returned is an XML document that represents any Perl data
structures passed to the function. Reference loops are handled
correctly.

Bug#364613: ITP: libmoose-perl -- Extension of the Perl 5 object system

2006-04-24 Thread Krzysztof Krzyzaniak (eloy)
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Krzysztof Krzyzaniak (eloy)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libmoose-perl
  Version : 0.04
  Upstream Author : Stevan Little <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/~stevan/Moose-0.04/
* License : Perl: Artistic/GPL
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Extension of the Perl 5 object system

Moose, it's the new Camel. Moose is an extension of the existing Perl5
 object system.
 .
Moose is built on top of Class::MOP, which is a metaclass system for
Perl5. This means that Moose not only makes building normal Perl5 objects
better, but it also provides the power of metaclass programming.
 .
Moose makes every attempt to provide as much convience during class
construction/definition, but still stay out of your way if you want it to.
Here are some of the features Moose provides:
 .
Unless specified with extends, any class which uses Moose will inherit from
 Moose::Object
 .
Moose will also manage all attributes (including inherited ones) that are
defined with has. And assuming that you call new which is inherited from
Moose::Object, then this includes properly initializing all instance slots,
setting defaults where approprtiate and performing any type constraint
 checking or coercion.
 .
For more details, see the ever expanding Moose::Cookbook manpage.

Package gnus, version x.y-z.dfsg.
That way its clearly marked that gnus is modified to be dfsg free, and
you dont change any source/package name. A lot of other packages in Debian
already go this way, I dont see why gnus can't do it.

CacheFu includes a set of Zope products meant to speed up Plone
using a combination of memory caching, proxy caching, and browser
caching:
  - CacheSetup
Provides a single place to configure all of Plone's
  caching-related services.
  - CMFSquidTool
Automatically purges content views from a proxy cache
  when content changes
  - PageCacheManager
Like RAMCacheManager but for entire pages. Handles HTTP headers,
plays nicely with gzipping. Uses ETags for cache keys,
  allowing for sophisticated invalidation.
  - PolicyHTTPCacheManager
Routes content associated with an AcceleratedHTTPCachingManager
  through CacheSetup's machinery.
  - MemcachedCacheManager
 (Experimental) Memcached-based replacement for RAMCacheManager

In addition, CacheFu includes sample configuration files for squid and
for Apache+squid

Bug#364609: O: Gnus -- A versatile News and mailing list reader for Emacsen.

2006-04-24 Thread Manoj Srivastava

> Package gnus, version x.y-z.dfsg.
> That way its clearly marked that gnus is modified to be dfsg free,
> and you dont change any source/package name. A lot of other packages
> in Debian already go this way, I dont see why gnus can't do it.

In Debian, source package components have precise meaning.
The package name is Gnus, and the version you are referring to is the
"upstream" version. In case you are not aware, that implies that
this is a source package for an upstream release versioned
x.y-z.dfsg -- which in turn implies that the upstream author has
created a DFSG free version, perhaps unreleased, for Debian.

I think pretending with a fake upstream version that this is
the same Gnus upstream packages is misleading at best, and deceptive
 at worst.

The reason binary package is not changed is that the binary
package is indeed unchanged -- whether or not the sources had dfsg
docs or not, the Gnus binary package would be the same. It is
perfectly legitimate to split up p[acakegs into foo and foo-doc, in
case the user only wants to install docs on one of the 8 machines she
 may have in her office.

Also, other people doing what I consider unethical is not
really much of a motivating factor for me to follow the same
unethical practice. I might not be haranguing other folks, since
there ethos may well differ from mine, but I am not alone in
considering fake "upstream" versions to imply that there is a dfsgf
free upstream version of the package as deceptive.

Ad why is this being rejected, you may ask? On IRC, the ftp
master agreed that the only reason is that a one line edit is
required in the override file; end sers are not impacted, since gnus
and gnus-doc are available to them, and the only ones who work with
sources with apt-get source gnus would be, since they see the
different dir thepackage unpacks into. Not a major impact there
 either.

And it is not as if there is no precedence for foo-dfsg
packages -- mysql-dfsg, polgen-dfsg, make-dfsg all come to mind. So,
an inconsistent policy, all to avoid a single line edit in overrides
(or so it has been communicated to me).

  Description : Plugins for CGI::Application

This package is a collection of some plugin modules to enhance
CGI::Appliation which is a perl framework for, well, CGI Applications.
Currently the following modules are included:

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Authentication - Authentication framework

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Authorization - Authorization framework

CGI::Application::Plugin::AutoRunmode - Provides an easy way to add run modes

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Config::Simple - Add Config::Simple support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::DBH - Easy DBI access

CGI::Application::Plugin::Forward - Pass control from one run mode to another

  CGI::Application::Plugin::LogDispatch - Add Log::Dispatch support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Session - Add CGI::Session support

CGI::Application::Plugin::TT - Add Template Toolkit support

CGI::Application::Plugin::ValidateRM - Validate run modes using
  Data::FormValidator

I modeled this package on libcatalyst-modules-perl because I figured 10
seperate source packages for closely related modules would probably be a bit
much.

Description : Change nature of data within a structure

Data::Structure::Util is a toolbox to manipulate the data inside a data
structure. It can process an entire tree and perform the operation
requested on each appropriate element.

For example: It can transform all strings within a data structure to
utf8 or transform any utf8 string back to the default encoding. It can
remove the blessing on any reference. It can collect all the objects or
detect if there is a circular reference.

It is written in C for decent speed.

I request an adopter for the spread package. I don't use this package at
all, someone with more interest would probably enjoy it more. Also
consider adopting wackamole, which uses spread.

The package description is:
Spread is a toolkit that provides a high performance messaging
service that is resilient to faults across external or internal
networks. Spread functions as a unified message bus for distributed
applications, and provides highly tuned application-level multicast
and group communication support. Spread services range from reliable
message passing to fully ordered messages with delivery guarantees,
even in case of computer failures and network partitions. Spread is
designed to encapsulate the challenging aspects of asynchronous
networks and enable the construction of scalable distributed
applications, allowing application builders to focus on the
 differentiating components of their application.

Package gnus, version x.y-z.dfsg. That way its clearly marked

Well, I think it is important for people to be able to build
make/gnus which is the same as supplied by upstream, without Debian
specific patches. If I change the orig file in a manner which breaks
the build system, I think it is imperative for me to fix it so people
can still compile the non-debian-patched versions of the software.

I assume that the users, and the rest of the free software
community, are full partners, and could help in improving the
software, and if they talk to upstream, itwould be good to be able to
distinguish if the bug occurs in unpatched upstream make, or just in
 the debian patched one.

I think anyone who ships a changed .orig file which no longer
builds (if the unchanged .orig file did build) is shipping a
suboptimal, and even buggy, source package. FTBS used to apply to
things not building on the user machine, not just buildd's.

This is a quality of implementation issue.

I was gonna call it -free and -non-free, but was dissuaded
from doing so by people on IRC, who suggested -dfsg and -non-dfsg.

I hope I have explained well enough above.

Description : An extension module for mod_python

Vampire is an extension module for mod_python which provides a more
flexible dispatch mechanism for basic content handlers. Whereas the
standard mod_python handler mechanism only allows one content handler
to be associated with a whole directory when handling the content
delivery phase of servicing a HTTP request, Vampire implements a
mechanism for selecting between multiple content handlers associated
with distinct resources within a directory.

In addition to this main feature, Vampire also provides an alternative
implementation of the mod_python.publisher module along which a range
of other useful features which make using mod_python a much more
 pleasant experience.

Vampire appears to run well on "sarge" with packages of Apache 2 and
mod_python.

Description : FBUI is a small, in-kernel graphical user interface

(Include the long description here.)

FBUI is a small, in-kernel graphical user interface for Linux. It
permits you to put windows in each framebuffer-based virtual console, to
read keyboard input and track a mouse pointer. Each process may have
more than one window.

FBUI exists for three reasons:

1. FBUI reduces software bloat because it implements a simple
windowing system in a small, 32 kilobyte driver. Liberation from
bloat is desirable for a number of reasons explained below.

2. FBUI assists people who are prohibited from using X Windows
because they are using resource-limited platforms such as old
computers and embedded devices. On these, X is an impossible
burden, but a vanilla framebuffer may be too primitive. FBUI is
"just right", and libfbui makes using FBUI even easier to use by
providing abstractions and additional functions.

 3. The traditional GUI of Linux -- X Windows -- is unlike any
other subsystem in Linux in that the video drivers it uses are
located within itself outside the kernel. Notice, normally
Linux drivers and vital subsystems such as keyboard, printer,
filesystem, usb, etc. are all located inside the kernel. FBUI
simply puts the graphics driver where it belongs: inside the
kernel with all the other drivers.

Money-Penny is an easy to use Programm for Homebanking using HBCI2. It
is under heavy devlopment in the moment but the developer plan to make a
knoppix-cd with Money-Penny 1.0. I am aware of the problem, that nearly
all dependencies could not be resolved with official debian pakages in
the moment, but i am sure that won't last for long, cause openhbci2 is
essential for Home Banking under debian in germany in future and the
rest is still maintained and only have to update a litle bit.

Description : Encrypted port knocking daemon with high security

(Include the long description here.)

Cryptknock is an encrypted port knocking tool. Unlike other port
knockers which use TCP ports or other protocol information to signal
the knock, an encrypted string is used as the knock. This makes it
extremely difficult for an evesdropper to recover your knock (unlike
other port knockers where tcpdump can be used to discover a port
knock).

Encryption of the knock string is performed with RC4 using a secret
key derived from a Diffie-Hellman key agreement. The entire process
takes 3 UDP packets. Data is read using libpcap, so no UDP or TCP
ports need to be in a listening state for the program to work.

The daemon records successful and failed knocks via syslog.

Hi,

I need the library for continuing to package freemind.

Concerning the License, I was not sure, so asked upstream and got the
following answer (with my question quoted):

--- 8< ---

> Hence my question to you: the license to be applied to xsdlib is not
> clear to me. In the package, there is some Sun and some Apache license

It's a mixture of the apache license and the MIT license. The most of
the code is under the MIT license (see license.txt in the bundle), and a
small portion of it is under the apache license (see
Apache-LICENSE-1.1.txt)

I hope this won't make your life too hard. There are too many licenses
in the world!

--- 8< ---

So true ;-)

Thanks in advance,
Eric

Linux journal article 2003-08-31: Securing Your Network against Kazaa
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=6945

DESCRIPTION

The P2Pwall project aims to provide iptables add-ins for the control
of Peer to peer file sharing traffic from applications such as Kazaa,
iMesh and others.

Ftwall-2 is an updated version of the original ftwall-1 software which
adds new P2p protocols to the set it can control.

Ftwall-2 is an add-on for linux firewalls that allows the control of
"Fast Track" peer-to-peer traffic (such as is used by "Kazaa" and it's
derivatives), WinMX and others using the OpenNAP protocol.

It is designed to block network traffic from P2P client applications
running in the "home" (or "green") network from making access to any
peers on the public internet. It is designed primarily for use in
networks where the security reigme allows "open access" for outbound
connections and "tightly limited" access for inbound ones. Ftwall-2
can be used in networks like this to prevent outbound P2P access from
the supported protocols, hence restricting illegal file downloads and
uploads.

A Fast track "home network" client that establishes an "outbound"
connection is (worryingly) immediately available to accept inbound
connections through the established TCP/IP socket - even if the
gateway firewall blocks all in-bound connections via "normal" TCP/IP
and UDP mechanisms. This is a kind of limited "tunnelling" and gives
rise to a number of concerns. Other P2P applications and protocols
present similar security challenges. Ftwall solves this (and other)
problems for the protocols it understands.

- "Ftwall" is short for "Fast Track traffic Firewall".
- "Fast track" is the networking protocol used by Kazaa, KazaaLite,
  iMesh and Grokster.
- "Ftwall" is part of the "p2pwall" project, which aims to provide
similar mechanisms for other peer-to-peer file sharing protocols in
  future.
- "P2pwall" is short for "Peer-to-peer traffic firewall".
- Ftwall version 2 is also capable of blocking WinMX and OpenNAP - and
in this, it's name is a historical misnoma.

(Include the long description here.)

fwknop stands for "Firewall Knock Operator" and is a piece of software
that I released at the DEFCON 12 conference in July, 2004 in Las
Vegas: presentation slides

fwknop implements network access controls (via iptables) based on a
flexible port knocking mini-language, but with a twist; it combines
port knocking and passive operating system fingerprinting to make it
possible to do things like only allow, say, Linux-2.4/2.6 systems to
connect to your SSH daemon.

fwknop supports shared, multi-protocol port knock sequences along with
both relative and absolute timeouts, and coded port knock sequences
encrypted with the Rijndael block cipher.

Hello,

This is an automatic mail sent to close the ITP you have reported or
are involved with.

Your ITP wnpp bug is being closed because of the following reasons:
- It is, as of today, older than 365 days.
- It hasn't had any activity recently.

As this is an automatic procedure, it could of course have something
wrong and probably it would be closing some bugs that are not
intended by owners and submitters (like you) to be closed, for
example if the ITP is still of your interest, or there has been
some kind of activity around it. In that case, please reopen the
bug, do it, DO IT NOW! (I don't want to be blamed because of
mass closing and not let people know that they can easily reopen
their bugs ;-).

To re-open it, you simply have to mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
with a body text like this:

reopen 305743
thanks bts

Further comments on the work done in the bug sent to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] would be truly welcomed.
Anyway, if you have any kind of problems when dealing with
the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help
you on this: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

A similar process is being applied to other kind of wnpp bugs.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Description : xml stream reformatter written in ansi C. Analogous to GNU
indent.

(Include the long description here.)
This is the first working indent filter for xml that i found. It
processed my galeon xbel (with 7000 entries containing greek
titles, cyrillic, ...) in a second.
hindent takes 2 minutes to do nothing on such a file.

I hope we could ahve it in debian regarding the wide use of
utf-8.

It tells:
UTF-8 and UTF-16 encoded streams will not be indented correctly
due to ASCII-only scanner generated by Flex. There's a patch to
Flex, however, for the brave.

Though we may have a patched flex in debian as it made wondered
on my utf-8 galeon xbel files.

Excellent progress, John! Send me a .diff.gz, .dsc, .deb, and
.changes, just as soon as you have them. After looking 'em over, I'll
sponsor the upload changing maintainership of the package and advocate
for you.

Cheers,
Shaun

Its a migration to C++, not a rewrite, FWIW.

thanks

Unless anyone, particularly the former maintainer, objects I'll adopt
this package. It's my MUA of choice (has been for years) and I'm
entirely reliant on it anyway, so maintaining it shouldn't be too much
of an additional burden.

Thanks, was just too lazy to check the correct address.

This is the new development version, totally rewritten in C++
with the

 latest features like ICAP added.

Its a migration to C++, not a rewrite, FWIW.

Good. I'll take note of this.

I hope that this packaging will help squid-3.0 getting tested and
released soon, as discussed lately on the squid-dev mailing list.
