Bug#361682: ITP: dialign -- Segment-based multiple sequence alignment

2006-04-09 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Plessy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

  Package name: dialign
  Version : 2.1.1
  Upstream Author : Burkhard Morgenstern, Said Abdeddaim <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  URL : http://dialign.gobics.de/
  License : LGPL
  Description : Segment-based multiple sequence alignment

 DIALIGN2 is a command line tool to perform multiple alignment of
 protein or DNA sequences. It constructs alignments from gapfree pairs
 of similar segments of the sequences. This scoring scheme for
 alignments is the basic difference between DIALIGN and other global or
 local alignment methods. Note that DIALIGN does not employ any kind of
 gap penalty. It has been published by Morgenstern B. in
 Bioinformatics. 1999 Mar;15(3):211-8.
 .
 Homepage: http://dialign.gobics.de/

I will patch the program so that it will use /usr/share/dialign by
default to access the substitution matrices instead of requiring the
user to set an environment variable. Setting it anyway will override the
default value.

  Description : suite of products for speeding up Plone

CacheFu includes a set of Zope products meant to speed up Plone
using a combination of memory caching, proxy caching, and browser
caching:
  - CacheSetup
  Provides a single place to configure all of Plone's
  caching-related services.
  - CMFSquidTool
  Automatically purges content views from a proxy cache
  when content changes
  - PageCacheManager
  Like RAMCacheManager but for entire pages. Handles HTTP headers,
  plays nicely with gzipping. Uses ETags for cache keys,
  allowing for sophisticated invalidation.
  - PolicyHTTPCacheManager
  Routes content associated with an AcceleratedHTTPCachingManager
  through CacheSetup's machinery.
  - MemcachedCacheManager
 (Experimental) Memcached-based replacement for RAMCacheManager

In addition, CacheFu includes sample configuration files for squid and
for Apache+squid

Drop me a note if you need any help[1], I've contributed some code
to CacheSetup and would like to see it in the archive too.

The makers of the long-around Windows XaraX vector drawing program are
working on a GPL'ed linux release, and I plan to package that for
debian. I already contacted the upstream authors, and they will happily
assist me.

If someone really wants to work on this two, I'm sure we can arrange
some co-maintainership.

Joop, http://parnass.org/ 's radio software is GPL'd and would very
easy for you to package for Debian. (Not for me: old and grey, I
haven't even used tk2 in the last two years.)

Not sure how many packages you would make of them all... which parts
are common, and don't need to be repeated etc. Maybe one big package
would do.

To fly from planet to planet, buying and selling goods, shooting pirates or

of piracy. There's no goal other than perhaps to achieve the rank of ELITE.

Note that this is submitted in the name of the debian-devel-games group, but I
am working on the packaging.

I do not use this tool regularly. This package we would be better
maintained by someone who does.

Bug#361719: RFA: libnjb - Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox library

2006-04-09 Thread Shaun Jackman
Package: wnpp

Hello libnjb users,

Is anyone a user of the Debian package of libnjb? I currently maintain
the package for Debian, and would like to search out a new maintainer
for the package. The package is in good shape with no outstanding
bugs. If you're not yet a Debian developer, but interested in becoming
a Debian developer, I'd be happy to help you out!

Cheers,
Shaun

Note: RFA stands for "Request for adoption" in the Debian bug tracking
system, and wnpp stands for "Work-Needing and Prospective Packages".

thanks

I was going to take this one, but once I started looking at it, I realized
that it was going to take a lot more work than I have time for at the
moment. Among other things, very few of the scripts have much
documentation, so man pages would have to be written for all of them. I'm
afraid I just don't have the time to look at this right now given that I
don't use the package myself.

Hopefully someone else will be willing to take it.

Bug#361761: ITP: libcgi-application-plugins-perl -- Plugins for CGI::Application

2006-04-09 Thread Jaldhar H. Vyas
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: "Jaldhar H. Vyas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libcgi-application-plugins-perl
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Jaldhar H. Vyas (collector) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : N/A
* License : GPL/Artistic
  Description : Plugins for CGI::Application

  This package is a collection of some plugin modules to enhance
  CGI::Appliation which is a perl framework for, well, CGI Applications.
  Currently the following modules are included:

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Authentication - Authentication framework

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Authorization - Authorization framework

  CGI::Application::Plugin::AutoRunmode - Provides an easy way to add run modes

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Config::Simple - Add Config::Simple support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::DBH - Easy DBI access

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Forward - Pass control from one run mode to another

  CGI::Application::Plugin::LogDispatch - Add Log::Dispatch support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::Session - Add CGI::Session support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::TT - Add Template Toolkit support

  CGI::Application::Plugin::ValidateRM - Validate run modes using
  Data::FormValidator

I modeled this package on libcatalyst-modules-perl because I figured 10
seperate source packages for closely related modules would probably be a bit
much.
