Bug#210239: O: xotcl -- An object oriented extension for Tcl

2003-09-10 Thread Teemu Hukkanen
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I've hardly ever used the software myself and have been trying to pimp
it's maintainership to people who actually use it (I know of exactly one
person who used to use it). Since there hasn't been any interest and as
the current package is ancient and thus practically unusable, I will
request removal of the package unless someone picks it up.

It has no reverse dependencies in the archive.

Upstream is a bit erratic, breaking the build in just about every
release in a new and intrigueing way. They also managed to run their
mail server as an open relay for almost 6 months.

  Description : Interactive 2D mass/spring simulation system for X

xspringies is a simulator which allows you to interactively create and edit
a system of masses and springs. The parameters of the masses and springs
(such as mass elasticity and spring K) as well as those of the surrounding
system (such as air viscosity and gravity) can be changed. These systems
can be loaded and saved into a file.
I guess you could use xspringies for real work, but it's really intended to
 be a time waster.

I think Ola removed the package but I intend to (re)package it. I'll
begin the work mid-november 2003. If not: bug me! ;)

Before working on the package, I'll make a web page with a TODO list and
design decisions and will send a mail on debian-java.

JIT has already been packaged and uploaded. It should be available
shortly. I believe it's just waiting on the ftpmaster to approve the
new package and move it along.

  Version : 0.35
  Upstream Author : Name <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://alioth.debian.org/projects/update-resolv
* License : GPL
  Description : Nameserver information manager

Resolvconf is already packaged for Debian, but there are
wrinkles to work out. The upstream author is willing to share
packaging duties. Note that the earlier ITP of this package
(#203131) was withdrawn.

(Long Description)
Resolvconf is a framework for keeping track of the system's
information about currently available nameservers. It sets
itself up as the intermediary between programs that control
network interfaces and supply nameserver information, and
 applications that need nameserver information.
 .
This package contains hook scripts that cause resolvconf to
collect resolver information from the PPP daemon, DHCP
clients and ifupdown. It also contains "update" scripts
that provide this information in the required format to the
libc resolver and bind. Other packages such as dnsmasq and
laptop-net also include hooks and update scripts for
 integration with the resolvconf system.
