Bug#133474: ITP: web100
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist The Web100 project provides the software and tools necessary for end-hosts to automatically and transparently achieve high bandwidth data rates (100 Mbps) over the high performance research networks. This is achieved through a combination of Linux kernel modifications and userland tools. This package includes a library, libweb100, and a set of both graphical and command-line tools to achieve these goals. There is also a kernel patch to facilitate the utilities. There are security implications to this software at the moment that will be documented in the software description. (any user can modify settings for any tcp connection) Therefore, its urged that it is only used in controlled environments. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist http://people.ssh.com/jkm/Prism2/ This is a Linux driver for wireless LAN cards based on Intersil's Prism2 chipset. Steve, Thanks for the NMU... Yes, I do intend to pick it up still, and I'll be retitling the bug in the next couple of days when I know I'm good n' ready... I need to talk to Petr about some things (like upstream communication, package quirks, etc), and start on the NM process, blah blah blah. Reassigning it as a QA package for now seems to be the most sane thing to do, I just hope it won't be necessary for long. :) ...
