Bug#116995: ITP: ttf-commercial -- Share commercial truetype fonts with windows or install from CD

2001-10-25 Thread Ho-seok Lee
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A
Severity: wishlist

This package is for sharing commercial truetype fonts with windows. But,
also it should be used to install fonts from CD-ROM. This package does not
contain any fonts. You need to mount the commercial font CD-ROM or windows
partition(if you already installed fonts to windows) before install this
 package.

This package contains only one file, `fonts.scale' that is licensed under
the GNU GPL.

It hasn't. They're relicensing them individually as contributors grant
permission. See http://www.mozilla.org/MPL/relicensing-faq.html. I don't
know what they've done with the individual files in this case.

Bug#117003: ITP:cvsbook-ja -- Japaneses translation of "Open Source Development with CVS"

2001-10-25 Thread arafune

The japanese translation of the "Free part" (even chapter) of "Open Source
Development with CVS".

The translator said "this translation is not completed and not perfect", but I
think this document is very useful for Japanese who want to use CVS.

Bug#117025: ITP: laml - Lisp Abstract Markup Language

2001-10-25 Thread Andreas Fuchs
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Version: N/A
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org

I intend to package the LAML system. It will probably end up in
three+(number of scheme interpreters) binary packages, laml-common (the
base system), laml-elisp, laml-doc and
laml-{guile|mzscheme|scm}, which will contain the platform-relevant
parts.

Licence: GPL
Web: http://www.cs.auc.dk/~normark/laml/

Description: Lisp Abstract Markup Language {package-dependent desc.}
The Lisp Abstract Markup Language (LAML) lets you write HTML or XML
files using scheme statements. This tool makes it very to write CGI
scripts or generate Web content, but it's also suited for writing
TeX-like articles which are presented in HTML form.

LAML contains many more features, aside from making it easier to
 produce HTML or XML:

  * The Scheme Eludicator, a literate programming tool
  * An HTML and XML->scheme parser
  * BibTeX and bibliography tools

Bug#117041: ITP: libpoe-component-jobqueue-perl -- POE component to manage queues and worker pools

2001-10-25 Thread Steve Kowalik
Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2001-10-25
Severity: wishlist

  Package name: libpoe-component-jobqueue-perl
  Version : 0.51
  Upstream Author : Rocco Caputo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
  URL : http://poe.perl.org/
License : Dual-license, GPL or Artistic, same terms as Perl
itself.
Description : POE component to manage queues and worker pools

POE::Component::JobQueue manages a finite pool of worker sessions as
they handle an arbitrarily large number of tasks. It often is used as
a form of flow control, preventing a large group of tasks from
 exhausting some sort of resource.
 .
PoCo::JobQueue implements two kinds of queue: active and passive.
Both kinds of queue use a Worker coderef to spawn sessions that
process jobs, but how they use the Worker differs between them.

I have packaged it, and it is included in Christian Marillat's unofficial
apt repository [0]. It seems Christian has taken over the actual
maintenance of it.

These are the outstanding issues that could prevent it from being
included in Debian:

1. It contains CSS code. However, I think I've resolved this by simply
removing the CSS code for the Debian package. It requires uploading
a modified "upstream" tarball. However, with the CSS code removed,
I don't see why it couldn't go into main.

2. The upstream source doesn't build a shared library. Even though it's
possible to modify it so that it does (which I have done), there is no
official upstream soname, so any dynamic linking will be incompatible
with future versions of the library that are shared.

3. The documentation for the library says that it requires kernel
   >= 2.4.4.  I'm fairly convinced that it doesn't (I've successfully
used it with less), but I'm wary of completely disregarding its
   warning.

Bug#117119: RFA: gnokii - Datasuite for Nokia GSM's

2001-10-25 Thread Sander Smeenk
Package: wnpp
Severity: serious
Submitted: 20011025

I have to put this up for adoption because I don't own a Nokia GSM
anymore, so I can't test what I build & release.

Gnokii has been easy to maintain, and has two (serious) bugs in the BTS
which are both buildfailures: on m68k and arm.

Regards,
Sander.
