I thought X only provided the means to have a GUI (without actually being one). I never had much problems with configuring X and after configuring X I never needed to do much with X itself apart from running it so I can use eg. gnome or KDE. Am I missing something? Of course, I am a newbie so it's likely that I am missing things here. -- Robert Bronsing --- End Message ---
[Fwd: downloading question]
-- Robert Bronsing--- Begin Message --- Can't you point GetRight to the ftp server? I thought GetRight is just a daemon, you should be able to say to GetRight where to get what it should get, right? > SomeNothingNess wrote: > > Is there a way to download Debian using GetRight instead of ftp? -- Robert Bronsing --- End Message ---

What you do is you open GetRight, you press ctrl-n (new URL) and enter the URL of your choice (e.g. : http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/ would point GetRight to the dutch mirror). >From there, GetRight tells you exaclty what to do, asks you which folders to use, etc. hth -- Robert Bronsing
